S o if you want to get at us, you can always hit us up at the c ubby C AS. Once again, t hat i s that the public g uy on Instagram, Facebook,
Speaker 2You are listening to the cubby podcast. Hi, Ron Lewis. I want to know how to get back in love with the cubby, man. Thank you all for coming out. That was the intro to the intro. You had to see what was up as you can see,
Speaker 1We're doing a happy hour happy hour, our happy, special. See what we on. We all in different places. This is a quarantine special. I'm sitting at my house. Jason.
Speaker 2Yeah. Cannon in a different area code. Yo candy, your house on fire. Yo Kenny. Oh, how's that coffee looks like. It's about to tip the over.
Speaker 1So yeah, man, you started off, where are you going to go around in circles again? We miss y'all man. And if you're in quarantine and you're hearing this at this point in time, we have not dropped something of the months, but this is the perfect time to create. And if, and if you're not creating, then you're really losing our heads. So I want to do a special shout out to one of o ur, our cast members c an a nd jumped on me. He was just like, yo,
Speaker 2Nobody's doing, bro. Like we got to drop some sit. And I was like, all right, cool, well, let's get it on. It was just hard to do it.
Speaker 1The logistics of it, but we made it happen and we're just going to go around. But before we do, I'm just going to say the rules. And I told the cast members a little earlier, I think it was like
Speaker 2Last week. I was like,, no, I'm not gonna lie to you.
Speaker 1I don't even remember these, but I'm gonna make an attempt and y'all could fill it in where I up. But the first rule of the cubby as you guys are listening to the C ovey, u h, urban p odcast, u h, for it to you by five men in Southern n aw, that don't really fit. Now
Speaker 2You
Speaker 1Buy five young black professionals on our come up in various parts of the country, obviously. Uh, so if you're listening to the podcast, just tools and tips of the trade to get you from point a to point B. And this episode is just some tips into tools, politics as usual during this quarantine time. COVID-19 and hopefully I'll stay in safe, bro. I wash my hands. I hope y'all wash y'all
Speaker 3I'm not going to lie to you son. I think there's probably different ways to watch money. I'm just always watching my head.
Speaker 1I'm not gonna lie to you. I think this COVID-19 cause it's gonna be washing their hands up to the bathroom, bro. I saw a lot of the walked out the bathroom throughout my years, throughout my 30 plus y ears. Not washing t heir hands. I t's probably awful f ellows. This whole is probably us in t h e C hinese. We started this, but I'm uh, I' m gon na ju mp into the rules really quickly. And thank y'a ll fo r listening to the cover. First of all, lit tle Co vey is that there are no rules to the Covey. Second rul e of th e co v er is whatever you bring. You got ta fi nish. Y'a ll br ing anything other than fire and ice. At this point tho ugh, f ir e
Speaker 3Yo Jay, you drank it again just in case you don't make it
Speaker 1Near your house. Always stocked with Lucas. I don't know how the you did,
Speaker 3But kudos to you, man, man now is back on third rule is to be yourself.
Speaker 1They nobody worried about you in the covering well through all of the stay on your P's and Q's because you never know what happened to the Cub and fifth rule. And that's the most important rule. I nailed it dinner now, Amanda, my man they're fooling most porn. You're going to get three times in the cubby man, once those two times,
Speaker 3Okay,
Speaker 2This is the problem. This is the problem. This is the problem. I don't have a lot of video conferences at work and there's one t imes s omebody kid threw a s hoe at the head. This went in the st r eet, d addy Mo put tha t in the roo m. An d I was like, Oh, I think I go t a deep voice. He don't never speak like that. I had to make fun of him. Yo, that's dope though, but Hey, y'all say hello, man. The family there, man. Everybody's in the house.
Speaker 3Hello family
Speaker 1Just wanted to shout y'all out, man. The pop, the topic of the day is politics as usual. Are you staying in the course in these times of worry and pandemic, we going to give y'all a list of a nd I'm just going to tell y'all what the we've been doing. Ca non o bviously been washing his hands backwards and forwards. Ja yden b ecome an alcoholic again,
Speaker 3Sanitize alcohol. And I'm not gonna lie to you. I didn't
Speaker 1Put on an extra 10 to 15 being in this
Speaker 3Easily, easily. I ain't gonna hold you up.
Speaker 1c lenches.
Speaker 3I became a vegan on accident Out here, bro.
Speaker 1And I, we tried to, we tried to do the face down and. And this came on t he screen with a, with a wool jacket, no shirt on.
Speaker 3And I kind of had a little,
Speaker 1Nah,. You said you went to go get gas. No, nobody. Why you lying to the b eat?
Speaker 3I have to run off
Speaker 1Yo. That's another thing about where I live at. Yo gas is not close bro.
Speaker 3One n ight. I ain't n ever s een t hat.
Speaker 1Yes. Price is around three 89 right now. Real. That's crazy. Everybody need to move to Detroit and the gas prices. Wayne unite y'all build cars and y'all gas them up. Bye man. So politics is usual. I want to just talk to the people. If this is going to be our first podcast coming back and I really want to get tools and tips of the trade, just politics as usual have y'all been watching the news because I'm scared of, bro.
Speaker 3Social media. I feel like a lot of it is true, but I feel like a lot of it is propaganda. And I'm just like yo CNN once a week, once a week.
Speaker 1the noise machine a t
Speaker 3Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Since Michael Jackson, since Michael Jackson, it's hard to pick, but it's hard to pick because CNN is getting it. People just figure it out on the go. Like they didn't gave us so many different things, seeing it and told us so many different things. Our expectations and estimates the same with Fox news and MSNBC, they all know people always try to be the first person that read the news and when they wrong, they just be like, Oh yeah, that should be wrong. Be like, well let's talk about tomorrow. Tomorrow. I'll be right. I was watching the news at first,
Speaker 1Joe elbows do, where are you at now, man? But you can't be watching a once a week, Jay, like they going to put out the green light and you still going to be inside for the next three, four days.
Speaker 3You bet. I'd rather, I'd rather be late to the party we got
Speaker 1Through all the rules, man. I can say it again for the people.
Speaker 3See me say,
Speaker 1But the rules wasn't in politics as usual. Let me just got into a little bit of what politics are. Watch the news are. Y'all actually taking the time to hear the different speeches and the motivational attempts that Donald Trump has been trying to send out every so often. And I'm a cyber cannon real quick. Cause I know
Speaker 3Legally,
Speaker 1He supposed to be telling us all this asinine and for me,
Speaker 3People that don't know, give us a quick overview. I mean, legally that's not a legal matter. I mean, it's not a legal matter.
Speaker 1You know, you know what it is. It's because he doesn't know how to. And this is honestly, he doesn't know how to calm the masses. He will, he would lead us into a pandemic, which he did. You know, everything that c ould h ave went wrong during the presidency. Guess what the happened? The government shut down. We ain't got no mother eggs in the supermarket Toil et pap e r. My G you gott a fig ht over this. You wipe your with real.
Speaker 3I seen this man, body slam another man or a value pack.
Speaker 1Just don't touch each other. And California don't touch each other in California,. That's s ome Detroit, body Slayer, J esse, the body type.
Speaker 3That's why
Speaker 1I'm not going to lie. I ain't to see that. I've been, people have been crossing the street more than usual with me. Now. That's a fact. I know that before now, like more than usual. Normally I walked down the street, 10 people, five of them going to cross the street. All right, cool. I've lived with that. Being black in America. Now all 10 of these mall walked down the street. Everybody just crossed the street and I'd be like, yo, bro, I'm cool with it. I don't want nobody close to me no more.
Speaker 3Who would it be?
Speaker 1The question is Jay, have you been up? Well, we already know your answer. I don't even think. Maybe have you even seen Donald Trump do his lately? Like what's t he m essage. What's the last message you heard?
Speaker 3So the last one I saw was the first one where he was like, he had all the, all the CEOs. Um, h e worked wi th t he CDC. Yeah, that was it. I just saw al l t he CEO. Then that's when I was like, yo, this is the original on e. M y incentive started to go up. I was like, we got the president, Donald Trump vic e-president pl an. And we got all these CEO s. D id you notice wha t mo st of those CEOs were from? They were from like Pro cter an d gamble. And th ey were from like, they were from like the big companies who cou ld pr etty much capitalize off of everybody being in the house, lik e to i let pa p er, c on sumers. I f I'm not mistaken, I thought somebody from like Google was tha t. A nd then the CDC, all these, all the pr etty much everything that we're going to be relying on being in the house. But then those people be involved. What other people need that? Yes. I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm just saying it's it's like, wait a minute. Wait, is this essentially what? We're pretty, we're pretty much prepped for this to be kind of like a long haul of like being in the crib. Not really interacting with people in a way, the way I looked at it, this is my man. You know, it's about to be a long haul. So Proctor and gamble, you make a lot of stuff that Americans, you don't have to double that up and what you need to make that happen. S o they g otta h ave a n that's true
Speaker 1Usual, man. We're under, we are so unprepared, but we have to be still have to live, man. So what, what are some things that you guys are doing internally in the house to keep your mental, physical, and spiritual game going? Man?
Speaker 3I think for myself, man, I just try to have something you can speak to, uh, the best part about it is little distraction. So you can really plan out the day probably better than you ever thrown in jail h ouse, w orkout L ike t hat. But that's neither here nor there t hat's b een a big part of me wanting to get outside.
Speaker 1I wanna, I wanna, I wanna say this though, and this is some that nobody's realizing the game right now. Uh, o nce we get outside and they put that green light on people, still not going to come outside for a little
Speaker 3A minute, bro.
Speaker 1I'm talking about My. I don't care. Like I'm traveling. Like that's a lot of things that people don't realize that get out and travel now, you know, like you can see how short life is. They locked us inside.
Speaker 3Yeah. But don't you feel like twice the HIV twice though.
Speaker 1Yeah. I'm good. I'm out like I'm traveling, traveling. Like
Speaker 3I don't even care. You just like you don't get it regardless.
Speaker 1Yo dude do. Y'all hear like over the next five to six years, 50 to 75% of the population are going to have some sort of variation of the COVID-19
Speaker 3You might as well.
Speaker 1Like I was speaking to somebody the other day was like, Oh my gosh, I was so timid. My, my younger days, I'm doing everything now. I said, no, you not. You got to be outside for two weeks and take your back inside. That's what the you got to do? But now I'm out ward. L ike I'm traveling everywhere. Like internationally. I haven't done a lot and I really do want to do that. Like that's, that's goi ng to be my main thing. Like I might not even have the jo b by the end of the year. Real
Speaker 3I'm saying here, man, two years now I'm hitting your bro. You s tay i n. A in't n o need to get ready. Well,
Speaker 1It's not like we don't know you'll pick up. And so I ain't even, I ain't even going to deny it. But no, honestly though, the UK, the UK is the move bro. But a lot of, a lot of people outside of the States, don't really like to state. So you're going to have to move from that or at least do some that will allow you to stay there for a long period of time. Everybody g et the visa man for the UK now going forward, make sure you get some to get the up out ta he r e or go to Canada. One of the two don't stay here. Don't be a citizen just for United States of America because
Speaker 3You're losing.
Speaker 1You're losing right now, bro. If you need to get out, nah, dog, I'm telling you, I'm trying to put everybody up on game, bro. Get another citizenship outside of this become Chinese.
Speaker 3Oh, asleep on America.
Speaker 1I'm not sleeping on it, but Rome fell. You see what I'm saying? Like y'all need to re ad. I need to read this writing on the wall, bro. Th is b een the re on a steady bea t de c line fo r the last four years. It' s be en on a steady decline for last four years. Y'all know that. The shorties ain't as bad nor mal sh o wed. H e' s no t as bad, no mou ntain. T hat's number one enem y. It's up
Speaker 3To learn a whole new language.
Speaker 1You just said you go into the UK in two years. My G
Speaker 3Nah, I'm making a trip. I was worried about traveling before even going here, bro,
Speaker 1You get out, man. There's COVID-19 shows you though.
Speaker 3They want to be like, bro, think about it. You're going to travel all these places with all these people who got all these things. The problem is you don't know where these people are coming from and you don't speak the language. That's one of my biggest things about traveling. I w ouldn't, I don't feel comfortable going places where I don't know the language and people are talking to me and I'm just like, Oh yeah, maybe like three or four years ago w hen it's like a Island in the Caribbean. But they speak predominantly. A nd every person t hat s poke F rench, I'm just like, yeah, you ever have you ever tried to talk t o somebody? A nd y ou j ust don't understand i f s omebody's talking to you and you don't understand, that's not frustrating.
Speaker 1You just learn the language
Speaker 3To learn another language. Yo, you got to get
Speaker 1Out of here. Most people that come to America have to learn English. You're telling me you want to put in the time to learn somebody else language bro. They can learn. Learn Mandarin, learn Mandarin
Speaker 3Mandarin, man. How's that going to help?
Speaker 1The world is moving East homie. Everything's East. Now I know they t his up with this C remona. Yes, that's true. But everything is East economy-wise technology wise. They got the most resources and labor learn Mandarin. If yo u r eally trying to get up on go East, yo West is a dying breed out here. I'm just trying to put everybody up on game. Get the up out ta he re though.
Speaker 3I don't know.
Speaker 1Well in this world speak at least two languages. I'm telling
Speaker 3You. Most people
Speaker 1Speak a little bit of English. A lot of people speak more than just one language. We, the only th at's s ticking to E nglish like the English is the da y. Th ey'll b e a lot of people sp eak t w o to th ree languages,
Speaker 3Says they know English and they know their native tongue.
Speaker 1Like think about it. Most of the U S I don't want to say most of the us because there's about 70% white people here, but, and be like 30, you know, y'all know the statistics. All I'm telling y'all is make sure if y'all really g onna do this quarantine well, and the tips that y'all need to do learn a language, man, build a puzzle assumption.
Speaker 3You know what I mean? It's my thing about languages, right? And then I guess this kind of goes back to the Mike Tyson quote, like everybody got a plan until they get all the Mandarin classes you want. Once they drop your in mainland China, y ou're g oing to be s tanding t here. Like whatever, whatever basic Mandarin you thought you knew. A nd a in't going to be like, yeah, we don't understand y ou l ike t he c hurch. What's the o bsession about the European. It w as. Why d o you want to go over there? I do Africa, Europe, Africa, a nd my b rother go to Africa before I go to Europe. The only reason,
Speaker 1Oh, that's a barrier, bro. I say, get up and go anywhere, bro. I was speaking to somebody the other day and they was just like, yo, to be honest with you, I feel like every black person needed to make a trip to Africa. And I said, yo, I agree if you're going to go anywhere and go to Africa, man. And that's why you be candid. If you want to speak or shed some light on your experience in Africa, that will be dope because Africa is a new stop.
Speaker 3Yeah. I went to Africa a couple years ago, South Africa. So some people consider it to not be, um, the same African experience as Northern Africa or weapon Africa. But none the less you still going to places where everyone is government to the public transportation, to the politicians, uh, everywhere, everywhere around there was a black. And so that was, that was great to see. Um, they had a lot of the same issues that we had. Um, it was interesting to see the stuff that they cared about. Like what, for example, I'm curious about that. I worry about a lot of dumb in t his country.
Speaker 1Now he's speaking bad about this. Huh? I thought,
Speaker 3I mean, there, you know, there were some people who live in the shack and so, you know, but they don't have like money though. So they didn't necessarily care about the home as much as, um, stuff that they had. They have a business going in the neighborhood they'll have a car. Uh, they have all this stuff, but living in kind of like a set. Um, but they had a family or two w hen they people they around. So the atmosphere around community was the s trongest. U m, they h ad this thing called emojis and t hat w as n ot o ne. What does that mean? Um, s o mething a b out u n ity o r, u m, c ommunity? Uh, m aybe, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I'm pretty sure it's l ike on e or
Speaker 1You a, another language. You know that though,
Speaker 3After today was speaking in, um, opposite, but that's the language they were speaking in black Panther. The clicking sound
Speaker 1That she love to say. That's what I thought about that. All that too. I know that language right there, right there. Yo I k now that's it.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1The point I'm trying to make an, excuse me. I'm eating this IC that I found in Walmart called a frozen cocktail. So I didn't really eat icy in the morning. So I got like gin and rum in this i cy b ook.
Speaker 3All right, man. How you doing during the quarantine?
Speaker 1And it's rough. Well, I'm not even gonna lie to you, man. Like I don't like being in close quarters for a long period of time. That's why I'm never really at home like that. But now that this has forced me to stay inside. I find myself just, just going crazy. Like I've contemplated the other day, painting a wall. Like I said, y'all I got to do. I want to go get some paint and just paint this. But I'm tired of looking at my apartment. I'm raising two plants right now. Me and my two plants. These is dying and I don't know what to do. It's cool though. Like my whole apartment complex, everything is shut down. Than k you.
Speaker 3You can't go to the pool or none of that.
Speaker 1I can't even grill. They shut that down. And then when I go outside and y'all, y'all, y'all already know, I l ive like a little secluded anyway. So for me, there's not a lot of traffic around me at most points, but now there is no traffic
Speaker 3Around. I feel
Speaker 1Like will Smith from, I am legend, bro. Like, I
Speaker 3Feel like.
Speaker 1I feel like everybody feels like that a little bit. And then I'm speaking to people and be like, yeah, you know, I went home. A lot of people, what they did was they went home and spent it with their family because they don't know what's really going to go on. So they don't know how long it's going to be. So I'm out here just chilling. They ain't nobody really in my complex like that, everything is big. The, the, uh, the rental office or the leasing office that's closed. You know what I mean? Like I low key almost ain't pay rent yesterday because I was,
Speaker 3He was like, what's the point though, if I don't place a moratorium for a lot of people have mortgages mortgages, you can, you know, kinda, kind of wave it for the next month on the back end though. Right? You gotta pay it on the back end. You still gotta pay whatever the difference is. I mean, you just kinda, they, they give you a month. They just give you some time to catch up
Speaker 1Too old money. They going to get back their principal.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1How have y'all been having fun? I think that's a key part that a lot of people don't really like what y'all doing. I know it was a lot of work because now my work and my home life is the same place. Right. And I really want to give kudos to people that work from home because working from home is a whole different life that I have to get adjusted to because I'm working from like my couch. I'm at my, I got the, on the, I got this Island in my kitchen. I just off of, but people that really w ork from home, they h ad their own separate office. You know what I mean? They c losed the door. So how have y ou a ll been doing those two things, one keeping steady at work. If you are working from home and two, how are you like having fun? Letting loose a little bit. I mean, the shows y'all is launching. Like, wha t's the thing. Cau se I got this one show called tiger,
Speaker 3Man, bro. I'm not going to lie. It. Wasn't like, Oh my God,
Speaker 1White on white crime. Let's just talk about that. As white people hating
Speaker 3On white. Cause
Speaker 1That one shorty, she be y'all she got it. Right? Like she's doing everything right,
Speaker 3Bro. I don't want to do that. I'm cool with, they don't even really talk about
Speaker 1The feud is a tiger feud, White on white crime. I told you, and then he sprinkled some tigers in his state.
Speaker 3Yeah. But what are y'all doing
Speaker 1Other than watching tagline? How are y'all staying on? Y'all work tip. And I know we mentioned this before about Canon. Cause I'm just getting back into this. Like I'm so rusty o n a lot of these topics o f conversations, b ut the more we do this, the more w e w ill get back into it. But how are y'all staying on that work? Tip politics as usual. And then of course having fun. C ause we not meeting up and mostly, and y'all know it was just us out here. You see what I'm saying? It was s ays B w ould go to J crib. I t w ould come here and we barbecue. You see what I'm saying? We w ould just chill. But now since that has been a little bit put on hold, what are y'all doing to pass the time?
Speaker 3Yeah. I could say, uh, these videos, they helped me get through, you know what I'm saying? Ain't around and got a p uppy. T hat'd be dope. Y eah, man, if I got that h andle working out, like ain't nothing much to do s o w ork o ut. But like you a in't p ush us real quick. E asy t ime to get that in. U m, I don't know, m an. I w as looking at this as time. A really whatever you want to work on. Like p eople s aying t he language t hat you c ould really just get that off l ike that. You j ust really s tarving
Speaker 1The problem, bro. We got to have fun in these times. And that's why for me, like I was really contemplating, like I can't even go to even a comedy club. He gets annoyed even if I wanted to. And it's really having me feel a little different because at certain times I would take it for granted. I was like, I'll go next week. Nah. You know what I mean? I'm busy right now. I don't feel it. But now that I'm sitting here, I'm like, like t here's so much to say, even with this coronavirus. And on top of that, like pe ople's l ooking for that interaction. Like, I do n't k n ow, like you call somebody now they pick up in the first two rings. I ain't never seen nobody.
Speaker 3Listen whenever we do get out. Yeah.
Speaker 1I don't think so, bro. I don't think so. I think g oing t o be d ead go ing t o b e sc ared a g ain.
Speaker 3Yeah. I think people won't be. I agree with these. Like I think people are going to be so hesitant. I don't know if this is just like see when I take it seriously at this point. Uh, Detroit and Michigan is one of the hardest man. It's like, it's close to home. My family has u m, s praying, but it's b eing close to home, but people still not taking, they still not taking t he people. People have heard of people p ass a way that t he people still d oing i t.
Speaker 1Yo, they were, there was seven people that died from around my way where I grew up.
Speaker 3I've been hearing more and more of it.
Speaker 1New York is like ground zero. And right now there's like over 15,000 cases that I should have New York. Well real. I could've, I could've put an extra zero on that, but I'm gonna just say 50.
Speaker 3I do think. I mean, whatever. Well maybe not right away, but whatever it does. So say like that first, like one thing that like everyone's k ind o f like feeling good about time to come out. I don't think a bout a ll a year. People still yearning for that social
Speaker 120, 21. That's when that's, when you're going to start seeing people come out, bro. There's some is Overbrook. Some out, some are 2028 happened is over. Bro. Might as well. Starting to fall was just starting to fall on my name. It's over bro.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1Oh no. This is the time to really like do some. And the delivery business is booming right now. Like any sort of take from point a to point B DoorDash, Uber eats. We need to invest in that. And then one thing I w ant t o, I really want to say, just put i t o n, g o up on game is that if you really look into invest, we need to invest in l ike the transportation industries right now, bro. If anyone's doing the transportation sort of peak by the end of the year, the next year, it's going to be crazy b ecause people's feeling just like me. Like yo, we g ot t o get out. We g ot t o travel. We got a book, but I'm not saying that until probably 2021 bro. 2021 is going to be t he, the light year. is happy to be alive. 20, 21. That's go nna b e the slogan for 20 21. I' ll b e h appy to be alive baby.
Speaker 3New year COVID survivor.
Speaker 1That's going to be the new. I'm the COVID survivor telling you bro. Gotta be bad. COVID babies out ahead and start. Oh Modelo out here. Chilling real. But yeah, politics i s usual, man. U h, J ay, I'm not sure if we got into you about what you've been doing for fun, man. I know you got, y ou k now, the family there and you're putting energy into it, but what are y'all doing as a group to stay together during this time?
Speaker 3Kind of interesting man. So like I said, he got a schedule. My life always has always been scheduled and I felt like the first time, I'm just like, nah, I ain't really interested. And I'm just like, yo nah, it's like, I put a lot of stuff in other people's time. And I feel like this is one of the, this is like a big reset, kind of like the first time where it's just like, yo, you don't got nowhere to go. You a nd your crib lock in, f ocus on whatever it is that you want to focus on o r don't focus on nothing. But t he w orld i n y ours, you know what I'm saying? So it's like, I spend my days kind of cycling between work side hustle. U m, t he family cooking, e xercising. When I, when I w ant t o take a long time, I've just been like focusing on the thing o f like, you remember had t his conversation. It was like, y o R enaissance, the Renaissance happened right after like t he black plague or something like that when like X percentage of the population. S o, I m ean, I k ind o f f eel l ike, like y ou predicted f or t he finger, like what kind of skills have you u p o n? W hat, what were you working on when you w as i n hiding? I probably met a thing more than I ever did before. Right?
Speaker 1I'm going to be honest. Yo, everything's going to change. It's like Jason, everything going to change after this, this pandemic, man, people are going to be different. The term strange. It takes on a whole different meaning now, because now you got, now you got two things to worry about. This could kill me or this may get me not hing.
Speaker 3They can make
Speaker 1Whole no, no new friends has come onto a whole different level now, bro.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1Ain't nobody going to see nobody's house no more. Ain't nobody gonna see nobody. Mama. No mom. It's over bro.
Speaker 3Yeah,
Speaker 1Negative. She might as well live at the hospital before I go to her. Grit
Speaker 3Might as
Speaker 1Well live in the clinic. Yo, you wash your hands today. That's going to be the new term. Y o, you wash your hands a t e ight. No. W ell go in there and wash your hands. Real c lear for you f or
Speaker 3You.
Speaker 1Go ahead and take a little shower and what's up with that? Like, like towels and. Go ahead and take a little shower before you.
Speaker 3Yeah
Speaker 1Man. COVID survivor. But I think it's important that we give the tips as politics as usual, man, you gotta, you gotta keep it steady. I think that was a good part for us to at least put onto the people now.
Speaker 3Well I think the politics as usual come into play. Like you got to keep going at the end of the day when things are going wrong. People not necessarily going to feel sorry for you. If you're not ready to pay what you owe. So do what you gotta do. You can't, you can't. I, no one wants to see you j ust g oing around playing i n b ad. Everybody's like, I know h e's g one. He m oved, t hey d on't do the right thing and work on yourself. It comes back to politics a nd the policy you g ot t o go with. The way society is moving, you g otta go with society. You can not be doing your own thing right now. What do you mean? Why not? I feel like society. Like you c an not be the one that's like, I'm still allowed to be going to the beach and doing that bro. But the majority of p e ople, majority pe ople, people not opening th e r e staurants, people not letting you come up t o the hang spot. Like they used to li ke t hey no t, u m, s o me p laces are sh ut d own. Li ke s ome places ea sier.
Speaker 1They lock up dog and putting a fine on them. I f they catch you outside after 11, huh?
Speaker 3People, people always wonder what politics are really acting like. They're doing the things that make people happy. The masses, you got to do the things that make people happy. So politicians generally say that they can make a bad politician. Someone who makes you not feel happy, make you feel happy. Obama Obama made us feel happy. Sometimes we even know what the h e w as talking about. We would just laugh. That's a good policy b ecause he has a good temperament. D on't e ven k now w hy. No matter what, even the doctors don't understand, how can we expect Trump to know what the hell is happening? But at the same time, p oliticians, y ou still g ot t o deliver the message in a good way that we can receive it. B ut people don't understand that if y ou w ould've just c ame o n h er l ife gave us s ome fire, m otivate us, let us know that he was all in like working t owards right. We working towards it. Even if he i s doing that, t hat'd b een good. Well, he coming out t here talking about people, g oing t o die, sick, this, that, and the other. That may be true, but that don't make us feel good
Speaker 1To I'll tell you this Noah. There's a lot of people not feeling good. Cause you're not pulling no shorties for a long time die. Nobody's coming over. You gotta do this. You gotta get your yo your game gotta be tight right now. If you're game that tight as a dude right now or
Speaker 3Well, listen, I a quarantine right now to get a corn thing, Warren,
Speaker 1The same word twice. I don't, I don't know what you mean with the hell. You though.
Speaker 3Quarantine.
Speaker 1How hard is it to be a, get a quarantine. Quarantine. Yeah.
Speaker 3Orange dog. It's impossible
Speaker 1Bro. It's impossible.
Speaker 3Everybody at home
Speaker 1Casting right now, doc, there's a lot of gas out here in these streets. I'm telling you, there's a lot of phone happening right now. Nobody meeting up. That's the p roblem
Speaker 3Harvest season right now. You got to plant a lot of you gotta have a lot of phone, telephone cord and all that. A lot of walking around
Speaker 1You catch a shorty before this virus hit dog. You have doing it for the next a wow.
Speaker 3You ain't picking up nothing new
Speaker 1I'm I'm listen. I'm butt naked dog. I'm telling you listen, man, I don't like just talking. I'm g onna talk action. I'm not about just t o game you for like a good, it's been one 15 days, 15 days. It' s be e n mo r e th a n th a t. I don't even like yesterday. I thought it was Thursday yesterday. I thought it was,
Speaker 3I thought it was Friday. So like Sunday, Sunday, I feel like,, I got to go to work tomorrow. But I got laid off.
Speaker 1You do every day is a day off Sunday off every day. Sunday. That is true. Every day. Every day a t a round six o'clock you wrap it up. Let me wrap u p.
Speaker 3Know that's the only thing that's driving me
Speaker 1More than this time period. Like I watched every finals he's been in this, this, this on YouTube. It said like B rian highlights o ne o f t h e b est finals, like from 2000 and 11 to 2018 and 2007, yo 2015, he was going crazy. And he had nob ody on the team. I think that was the bes t run I r eally do because he just came from Miami. He was killing. He was averaging 40 10 in l at e,
Speaker 3But he's still lost, but he was killing. He got it.
Speaker 1I I say watch 2014 finals, 2015 finals in 2016 finals. Yo Brian was going,
Speaker 3Yes, sir.
Speaker 1Clear that you say Brian is going to be crazy numbers. Now at this point, bro, any year, it doesn't really matter. Other than like 2005, be like,
Speaker 3I feel like people are starting to realize how central they are. Part of life. They connect with so many different people. It's socially necessary. Sports is some definitely realizing why they get why they get paid.
Speaker 1Dude, bro, we talk. We just talking about a tiger c up. We just talked about a tiger. Who the is?
Speaker 3You're not playing no basketball. There's no sports, bro.
Speaker 1My football the other day. I said, yo, I don't care because basketball is not over yet. Like everything just pulls basketball for me. It's always been,
Speaker 3This has got the notification. I've got the notification. Atlanta is leaving in a few hours
Speaker 1And he just put on the mask, put on some clothes, wrap up. Yo
Speaker 3Those flights,
Speaker 1Right? I just might take a trip bro. Y'all I'm about to come to Detroit. What's up, dude. You gonna, you gonna let me in the house.
Speaker 3You can go two w eeks w ithout s ymptoms. T alk t o m e t hrough t he y'all.
Speaker 1Just put your bag down. Put your bag.
Speaker 3Yeah,
Speaker 1That's up. I came to hang o ut. I'm healthy h ome
Speaker 3Cleveland. Ain't going nowhere.
Speaker 1Yeah. If you're gay, not tight right now over overtaken,
Speaker 3You gotta fill a long game. You gotta, you gotta keep her. Cause you don't know when it's going.
Speaker 1Yeah. Let's put a bet on this. That when is this ending? The day and month I'm saying April is gone. This is an 11th month. A year. April h as gone. L ike it's gone. I say, this ends June 6th, June 6th is w hen quarantine is over.
Speaker 3I think we can let another. So first of all, and I don't think we won't let Memorial day pass me that ain't going to be people who won't take the mama restaurants. Don't give a a bout t he d ay's going to be so big. It's going to be like y'all we can't have more w ithout e verybody. B ecause the thing is, you know, the world walk around women at the end of the day, i t's g oing t o b e h appy. T hen when Memorial t hey come a round
Speaker 1Is coming out during this period
Speaker 3Memorial day is when it's going to be lifted in my heart of hearts. What I think is going to happen
Speaker 12021 of survivor,
Speaker 3Man, June 19th, April 4th.
Speaker 2It was yesterday. Ain't nobody do. Did you get tricked yesterday?
Speaker 3Holidays, Memorial day, Memorial day and labor day r anking Memorial day. Ain't g oing t o be no way you won't be like I'm firing up the grill over. I'm leaving the house.[ inaudible]
Speaker 2Always, I would change my.[inaudible]
Speaker 3On second thought about it. You may not know.
Speaker 2Are you going to be knocking on your g oing t o be knocking on Jay door? Yo Jay, we good?
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2And watching the news be good. I don't know. I ain't get it.
Speaker 3No checked.
Speaker 2Close that window. Close that window. Close that window.
Speaker 1They can't see me Jay over. But yeah man, I just really want it. It's good. It's good to touch base with y'all man. I'm going to wrap it up. C ause I know we've been on for an hour and people got the routine that they g ot t o do, b ut yeah man, this is what w e used to do this m an. We used to have f un, bro. U m, just to reiterate man, and I'm g oing t o try to see if we c ould end this with some positivity to the people as y'all know, man love is love facts. Let's talk about it. If you guys don't know the rules, I say it one more time. So the next episode that y'all really do tune in with us first, we'll do a c o uple o f y e ars t hat there are no rules to the Covey. Second ru le o f the Covey is whatever you bring. You got to finish third. Well, little cubby is to be yourself because ain't nobody worried about you in the cubby four through to the cubby is to stay on your P's and Q's cause you never know what having any cover. You see that pause. See, I was forgetting to pause. That's what i t w as. And the fifth rule, the most important you only get three times in t he covet. So we're going to have a lot of people j oining us through this time a nd this pan, then we might just do this often. W e'll probably cut it down a little bit just to segment the time and we'll do it a t s ome t imes w ith b ecause everybody in the house, anyway, you c ould talk to us, you c ould talk to us. So we'll probably just go through and make sure that y'all could spend some time with the c ubby, u h, entertain us while we entertain you with different topics o f the day or the week. Um, so my love is love statement as always. I think I'm gonna record some tonight, but comedy is life. Life is comedy is l ife comedy. Just use those three words and everything will be okay. Especially during these times, man, you g ot t o laugh. You have to laugh, laugh at your family, laugh at your friends, laugh with your friends. Keep people close, man. And if you can't go to a comedy club, just do it inside. Man, do some performances, create, create, create the world that's c oming after this needs. People needs t he creatives like Jay was saying, man, this Renaissance p eriod is big. They need to c reatives, man, b ecause now at this point in time, life is short and it's actually tangible. You c an see it now. So I'm just going to go around, man. Whichever one of y'all want to say, an d I'm gonna kick it off to Ja y f irst. And then I g o t t h e c a nnon,
Speaker 3Man, listen, I got a simple one i s live your life. Live your life. Live every day to the best, m axed out e very d ay, enjoying what you want to enjoy a nd do what you want to do with w hen t he shot clock is up, the shot clock is up. So I'm going to just go with the old N egro f lashes. You only live once, man. I t's t he perfect time to s ay this is your life. This is life. This is reality. L iving t he p resident.
Speaker 1This is Lang. Yeah, You're going to sign off. Thank you, Ken. For that. As you guys know, pay attention to listen into the cupboard, we're going to be doing these once again, the cubby is back and we're going to be putting our time and energy into this. Talk to us on a daily basis. Talk to us on a weekly basis. We'll try to turn in from time to time, but y'all just to let y'all know, man, there's a lot of backlog that we have that s tore. I w ill just l isten to some for me,
Speaker 3The archives,
Speaker 1A lot of laws tapes, I didn't even know it was on mission. So we going to be pumping a lot of different things, but we needed to start in order to do anything big. We got to start so welcome to the company, man. Thank you all for coming out. Love is love facts. Let's talk about.
