The cubby podcast. Hi, Ron Lewis. The door open. Oh,
Speaker 2They was, they was like sitting on the open door
Speaker 1With the eight days.
Speaker 3That is crazy.
Speaker 2You know, this is the problem with being on video.
Speaker 3I'm gonna tell you the bad part about it is look how deep I got into t he I'm from New York, long Island, long Island, N ew York. We got another guy f rom t he B ronx. I'll tell you like Jamie. H e f rom he from Orlando, Florida.
Speaker 2Yo, you didn't. I thought you saw, I dropped some this morning, right? Honestly, it's just me speaking for 45 minutes.
Speaker 3Just me speaking about this.
Speaker 2How y'all living in it though. Like what's the UN like one of the major cities, you know what I mean? Detroit, ain't nothing to play with. Nothing to sneeze a t.
Speaker 3It's kind of hard not to not hear about it. That's about it. I don't know anybody that has really affected here or that beat up here. Huh?
Speaker 2That's said that's somebody's cousin. Ain't it? Somebody's cousin got arrested.
Speaker 3I thought it was somebody's cousin. Somebody, them they get out.
Speaker 2Yeah, man. Be careful. Be careful with the protesting man.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 2Yeah. Be careful with the protests, man. I may not to send an Ana and uh, they was getting a little violent, you know, I'm not about that life. No more. I'm washed. So I was out there. I was out there showing support and as Susan, they got a little dog. I was like, right. Yo, I'm out. I'm out.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 24:30 PM. What time you woke up?
Speaker 3Yeah. 10:00 AM. It's called a coma. That's called a coma little sleep for like 17 hours naked. The. Was you okay?
Speaker 2Yeah. I'm out here getting slow, man. I'm doing CrossFit every day. Let's say yo, if I'm gonna lose my job, as long as my body. Right. I'm good. You see what I'm saying? That's my bad.
Speaker 3That's
Speaker 2How I made it. Make sense. Like if I'm gonna lose this right now, I'm going to come out or come out on somebody on top of something. I'm going to be good.
Speaker 3I don't really think it would be
Speaker 2Wherever you want it over. Just in the park. So what'd you do today? What'd you do when it is a little bit of squats. It's Tuesday. Yeah. I'm going to have about four hours of squats in about four hours.
Speaker 3Anybody get crazier. So
Speaker 2Yo what's up, everybody get those stimulus checks.
Speaker 3Oh yeah. I got that
Speaker 2.
Speaker 3Yo. Nah, I'm not going to lie to you
Speaker 2When they put it into my account to take it out because I don't know what to s ay i t. I think I probably saved it. To be honest with you. I c ould go back in the records, but k nowing m e, I probably stashed it somewhere. I probably put it in like a third bank account t hat I don't even look at i t.
Speaker 3It's done now. You know, kinda forgetting about COVID.
Speaker 2Can we really right now? Can we really forget about COVID? This is just a new topic. I honestly feel like this is just me, man. It's just gives, this is me man. I'm thinking they just making black people go outside so we can get sick.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah. There's a couple, a lot of Spanish people.
Speaker 3That's a lot of they're passing our waters and snacks. That's Noah.
Speaker 2No, they got to that's what they're good at? They do it on the marathon.
Speaker 3Runs, pass out
Speaker 2That little water, that little bottle. That's what they're good at.
Speaker 3I should have been on that. Where were you at? You was in the middle. I was walking. You don't ever walk into the protest. Everybody know that and you tie it,
Speaker 2But you see if the family safe. So that really matter, man, everything else just Man, I was just speaking to my conscious thought. So to me, I feel as though my huge thing is that this generation is very fad as centric. And I don't like that. We move on too quick from certain things and people know that. So right now it is a revolutionary time we're loop and we're doing things like that. But what comes after? What comes next? What are we doing after this? Are we voting? Are we putting things in progress or are we just going to go back to the money, to the air sort of mentality and move forward? That's a, that's a huge problem that I think I have read. A lot of the activism that goes on today is that the big difference in the past revolutions was that there was a commitment to family and steadfastness. And we knew who we were. I think there's a lot of outreach that happens now that people just drawing at straws in order to make a, a claim to something that they're not really passionate about. So I hope a lot of people are passionate about this, but I think we're allowed to fat ecentric. So I went around that. I'm going around just my, my whole concept of my view coming from where I'm coming from, living in Irvine, which is a whole different thing, bro. Like I'm not even in the thickest, no model. You see what I'm saying? Like I can honestly see it.
Speaker 3Yeah. Hear here, bro.
Speaker 2It's not like for you to leave and go back to it. You already know I'm sitting here and feet up. I don't hear no
Speaker 3Sirens at night.
Speaker 2Like the loudest thing I hear is my pool being filled with.
Speaker 3Think about this.
Speaker 2That's the loudest I h ear at night. My pool being filled with chlorine water.
Speaker 3Hey,
Speaker 2Hold on. I need to get a chance to see it in my head.. I have a downer
Speaker 3Down.
Speaker 2She looked like Lisa left eye Lopez right there.
Speaker 3Gotcha.
Speaker 2Well you talking about, I like it, bro. I think yo, you gotta be active if you're not active as a shorty, like I don't really want to be around you. You gotta look good with the, the head tie in the Sundre.
Speaker 3You can't even say my name. You can't even let him on Tyro.
Speaker 2You can't even call on Tyrone. You look good in a head-on and a Sundre.
Speaker 3Listen, man, don't disrespect me. Don't
Speaker 2Disrespect me. That's what I meant.
Speaker 3That's what I mean. That means you would clean up and go to brunch. One, o ne, one quick swoop. Just fix your hair.
Speaker 2You can go to brunch and clean up. Hold on, wait a minute. What time is it? Two I'm ready. That's what I like to see you. Good man. March on
Speaker 3Or anybody saying I'm crazy?
Speaker 2Nah, Irvine is safer than condoms. Wrong. Ain't nothing wrong with Irvine, b ro.
Speaker 3You got it.
Speaker 2And they just don't even know is going on. I'm the only one saying black power. I walk outside black power. Th ey b e like, huh? What
Speaker 3Are you talking about?
Speaker 2I got a whole bunch of Asians here, bro. You know, Asians don't speak like that, but
Speaker 3You know how that
Speaker 2Now? But I will. I will say though, just the temperament of me being outside as you know, as a black individual, you know, you always get a sense of who's watching you. Who's not, who's trying to walk. You get that sense. Right. And for majority of my life has always been at a certain level. But now that is heightened. Like s eeing m e i s like seeing the abominable snowman to these an d I w a lked
Speaker 3Outside like wheel
Speaker 2. Like it's not even like a thing. Um, so I think that's the major difference. It's just the, the essence of me being around has, has heightened their sensitivity to the thing. Um, but you know me, I still say what up.
Speaker 3Okay. And what did you get back though? I was supposed to been visited by now.
Speaker 2Oh, you said you was coming back? Well, I don't remember.
Speaker 3I told you, did you did I say okay, I get it. Come back
Speaker 2Shorty. That's next to you. You're not going nowhere. you talking about,
Speaker 3You. See what I'm saying?
Speaker 2The shorty that's next to you. Think you going anywhere that I need to go.
Speaker 3I told her when I first got here and I think I told her when I first got back, Midwest, Midwest has always had the principles homegrown vegan. It's 20, 20 is still eating meat. Of course, for sure. I forgot. T here's Buffalo out there in the Midwest a little bit.
Speaker 2I remember when you told me you was coming back, I looked at you like
Speaker 3This.
Speaker 2I did. I did. I looked at you like he was crazy when you t old h im K imbo before and after the workout,
Speaker 3Like LeBron, LeBron got that Kimball. LeBron right off the final block, man. I was just gonna call two hours, man. But it's good to see y'all man. Definitely man.
Speaker 2Everybody
Speaker 3Good? Everybody good. You're not coming back from a protest. Are you know Noah[inaudible]
Speaker 2Yeah man, I didn't get her name. I just got straight luck. I'm like, yo, what's her name?
Speaker 3I ain't even get that low. They a little bit more civilized.
Speaker 2I'm civilized. I'm a civilized individual. This civil in my last name.
Speaker 3We just did a, we just had a protest. Um, uh, I mean,. It was people's out there. A lot of white people actually it was passing out waters, bro. I heard that's out of protest, like the one with black people
Speaker 2And I think it was just running marathons. Y'all not even protesting. Everybody's running a marathon.
Speaker 3They were definitely the majority. Is that like, Oh no. And then I guess I'm curious, like how the hell was that like as a processing processing is that it's good to have allies, but is it like, are you really in, I like, and you really feel my pain or is this just like
Speaker 2The definition of an ally? Like they might not be a part of the community, but they support.
Speaker 3Yeah. I mean, yeah. That's what makes you an ally because you're not really in the r eal. U m, but I mean, I don't know. I definitely was thinking like, do they really know w hat I mean? I t w as o ut
Speaker 2Yo white people will always talk to you. White people will always protest. It doesn't matter what the cause is. If, if a protest is involved, you're going to have some white person out there saying yes.
Speaker 3So this is America. We have our rights. We have. Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah. What did you say earlier? They was in vans with the door open with the AC?
Speaker 3Nah, not the police. It was just like a, I don't know.
Speaker 2They had the black cheetahs out there.
Speaker 3The police came, the police came. We just still waiting to get picked up because we had to take a Lyft man, protest f our m iles a way from the w eb.
Speaker 2Whoa,
Speaker 3[inaudible]
Speaker 2Talk about privilege. Yo, just waiting that five minutes Lyft is coming. Are you going to make it to the protest?
Speaker 3We pulled up to a Louisiana Creole gumbo called the lifts while we sitting there waiting man, a whole bag full of,, women and men.
Speaker 2That was the brother of Islam.
Speaker 3Pull it up. They're like, party's over. Party's over.
Speaker 2No joke. I was still on there. Yeah.
Speaker 3Yeah. Upcharge bottom rate national pen.
Speaker 2Imagine the left called me, talking about, meet me around the corner from the protest. Not, and now you got to move from the protest line and go around
Speaker 3I'm over here.
Speaker 2That was as a society. We take it lifts the profile.
Speaker 3Yeah bro. I was taking lifts and we had to wait like n ear 40 minutes f or t hat. Imagine, imagine d uring like the million man March.
Speaker 2Nah, not here yet. No, y'all have to evacuate, but this is the Uber station,
Speaker 3But
Speaker 2Luther King speech at the end of his. Y'all just wait for your Uber.
Speaker 3Yo dog. I like the three mile Mark. I'm like, yo, we get farther and farther away from my window walking by
Speaker 2Yo. But how do you feel about like the state of that's going on right now? Back to back, you had the COVID now you have the, how y'all feel about that as a, as part of the community.
Speaker 3Is that, is it
Speaker 2Crazy to y'all or is it just like regular now? Are you immune to the effects that society is putting on him?
Speaker 3Definitely. Definitely. Like I don't even know what the military. Oh yeah. He's definitely out of line. We will use military. Yeah. He's definitely doing it a hundred percent. I mean, should we hear now? This is where we, we in a place where the president is talking about, do what the y ou want.
Speaker 2And with the toupee we'll press the button. If a makes a choice to get a toupee, he will press the button. L ike I think i t made the decision to get a p ack. He walks around with h er.
Speaker 3Yeah. He gives no. He's pressing the button.
Speaker 2Anybody that's still where chopper suits is pressing the button,
Speaker 3Pressing the button. We'll definitely put[inaudible] don't give no no more pressing the button.
Speaker 2Yeah. That didn't go press two buttons. And it g oes really
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 2Chop, chop, chop, chop suit. Yeah, man. But it is definitely
Speaker 3Crazy. I think,
Speaker 2I think, I think he's really
Speaker 3[inaudible].
Speaker 2I wanted to make sure I chop a suit was one of those big suits with the wide pants. Legs. It's loose. It's not like a fitted suit. It's a, u m, i t's a baggy suit day 19.
Speaker 3Yeah. Originally the origin is the member of the band and he's reality TV show.[inaudible] had a reality TV. They weren't doing it so long. That's the thing I used to watch right
Speaker 2Now. It needs to happen right now. Like today Making the band,
Speaker 3Making them
Speaker 2Cops was making a band. I don't know. I got lost on that one, but yeah man, I think, I think, I think a lot of people I haven't heard surprisingly d idn't I haven't heard a lot of deaths though. I've heard a lot of people g et i t.
Speaker 3I've heard a lot of black dudes though. So now people are trying to save some gangs. He have been just not with the p rocess at the same time.
Speaker 2No, a black person right now to not w ith p rotesters. Is that a thing?
Speaker 3You got Kanye West
Speaker 2Kanye West. Not with the p rotests.
Speaker 3I'm pretty sure was protesting Trump. He would say that's not the right thing. The Trump thing is different. I think this is honestly, I haven't heard anybody i n p olls. The fact that what happened, I heard he was talking about. I seen Dez B rian saying, you know, I love white.
Speaker 2Nah, this news,
Speaker 3Right?
Speaker 2I'm not gonna lie to you. That's pure comedy, bro. What you mean? Like imagine that though in this heightened moment, somebody come out and just be like, yo, I love white people.
Speaker 3That's crazy. That's wild man. White people out there. I love
Speaker 2You needed to shut the up.
Speaker 3was upset.
Speaker 2See, I would think there's nothing wrong with white people. I just don't like the way they think. I just don't. I don't, I don't mind. I don't like the imperialistic nature that a lot of people that a lot of white people have, um, accepted. Right? I think plight isn't really, everyone has plight, but I think a certain amount of plate isn't really contributed to them. They just don't know it's oblivious
Speaker 3To it. So, um,
Speaker 2I just, I don't, I don't understand how the process works. And until then, it's just like a baby. Like until you make a baby aware of something, they don't know about it. And that's just why, why people are like, that's why I make it very clear. This is how it is. And whether you agree or you disagree, that's when you, but I'm telling you what
Speaker 3This world looks like.
Speaker 2It's just like anything, man. Like if you, if you're not, if you're not exposed to something you don't know of something. And then if you do get exposed to it and then you choose to ignore it, that's on you. But I just think inherently, they're not like, think about it. Like why deal with racist? If you weren't part of racism, would you actively try to be a part of racist? Like just
Speaker 3d idn't i t. But it
Speaker 2Is up to you.
Speaker 3You know what I'm saying? Everything is up when Trump's talking about Mexican people, but I don't be out there. T hat's w hat I m iss. The last time y ou went to g et a lot of i t has to do with the fact that I'm thinking o f like as a black person, some up for me too.
Speaker 2And to be quite honest with you, black people, black people shopping.
Speaker 3Can you even imagine being a white man? I can't even imagine.
Speaker 2I can imagine that. I think I can imagine.
Speaker 3I think being a white man, being a black man with a lot less worry, carefree black. You ain't got no worries in the world.
Speaker 2No, no. Well these, these white women will put these white women to put pressure. These white men don't put pressure on your doubt. Like imagine, imagine not having a hundred million in the bank and a white woman come up to you. you talking about everybody else got a hundred million. These white dudes got pressured t o now. D CO just don't kill themselves to kill themselves. Like these white women make these seals k ill themselves.
Speaker 3Coca-Cola
Speaker 2The Midwest. Wait a minute About Nebraska is. That's what you talking about? You talking about Iowa and Idaho, those white men that still eat grass. That's what the you talking about?
Speaker 3You talking about material?
Speaker 2No, I mean, I, but that's the thing. I do think every man has pressure. Every woman has pressure too. But um, I do feel as though socially, it's not as much pressure to be a white man, but I still think they got pressure to, to live up to certain standards and move the way that they.
Speaker 3I feel like definitely white women. They can definitely get away with the most w hite m an. I think so
Speaker 2Dangerous group in America. I've been saying why women are the most dangerous group in America, bro. White women would get you killed white men will get you fired white. Roman would get you harass white women, white women.
Speaker 3I wanted to get you arrested,
Speaker 2Kill you just for looking at'em, uh, arrest that man, kill that man.
Speaker 3There are historical facts around that.
Speaker 2I live in the most dangerous group in America wrong. That's why if a white woman comes up to me and asks like if I'm smoking sign and be like, yo, can I get some I'm scared of. I'm scared of a group of white women. That real. Take you. Go ahead and take, take, take the whole pack. Go ahead and take it away. I don't what to do with it. This is, this is mine. Anyway, this isn't mine anyway. Most dangerous scoop out there.
Speaker 3No, I wasn't scared. You know what I'm saying? I tried to keep my, you know, drinking my water.
Speaker 2I've been drinking a gallon a day, bro. You've been drinking.
Speaker 3I had the leader.
Speaker 2We, we ask them you've been drink of water and picked up a couple of minutes. Yep. I'm Jacob. He's like, you can get that, but I'm a flush.
Speaker 3They giving out free food.
Speaker 2A protest turned into a fair real.
Speaker 3Like
Speaker 2If they would have had a r ollercoaster out there, i t would have been a fa il.
Speaker 3Wow.
Speaker 2Oh. We need to do real. Business opportunity. Get I'm all bouncy house. Go to a program.
Speaker 3No, no, not from real. So business opportunity out there selling t-shirts like yo black lives matter. 2020. I was here.
Speaker 2Yeah. You're going to be Jay. Jay. You're going to go outside and sell that right now bro. COVID COVID been overseas Memorial day.
Speaker 3Governor, governor, governor winter, Michigan. Oh no. I didn't know that. I thought he was. I thought he said that about, about the protestors anyway. Now people can be in a group.[inaudible]
Speaker 2I started working from home. He going to start ordering his groceries in. If he hasn't started already you a bubble boy, go t o outside.
Speaker 3That's it. That's the only place I go. Grocery store. I went to the top of the smoothie today, yesterday. Oh no red, lots to pickup.
Speaker 2I think I made a phone drop through. You can pull up to the front door, stuck his arm out.
Speaker 3I don't be mashed up yo today. You'd be mad.
Speaker 2Do I be messed up? Yeah, I'll be messed up, man. I'll be out here now
Speaker 3On the day. So for the most part everywhere, I mean, I don't know, man. I feel like I'm practicing good. Everybody gonna look like a character from mortal combat.
Speaker 2It's an old t-shirt with some string attached to this
Speaker 3[inaudible]
Speaker 2Case that I cut into. And I just put some,
Speaker 3You got to read your lips.
Speaker 2Yeah. I got this from a, I got this from a gas station. Cause I wasn't wearing the mask at first, but then they wouldn't let me in anywhere and I'm riding, I'm chilling and I'm like, no, bro, let me come in. It's like, no, you need a math man at the gas station. But he just like, yo, I got a mask. Nah, I was like, you got a man. And he was just like, yeah two for five. I was like, a ll r ight, yo, let me get this real quick. So I opened up the m ass and this was bigger than mi ne. I don't need an extra, extra, extra lo g. My like my face ain't huge. He was like, yo, that's what I got. I was like, all right, let me go ah e ad an d ta ke that. And then I walked in the wal l.
Speaker 3[inaudible]
Speaker 2Yeah, this is what I use this go from the bottom of my eye to my c hair.
Speaker 3I him
Speaker 2[inaudible] my. It is a face sun. Just look you see all the flow at the bottom. You
Speaker 3See that's all
Speaker 2Wind. It's all wind.
Speaker 3Oh my God. The real problem is, is I wonder what g oing t o do when they realize that all these are going to walk into a bank with a mask on. Now, all th e R o byn b anks like that, yo p i ck t h em u p. Give me everything in the ball.
Speaker 2Everything can't be in the news right now. Everything can be in the news right now. We already dealing with COVID and we're dealing with March s omething.
Speaker 3I don't think they're gonna be robbing banks.
Speaker 2I work at a bank. I used to work at a bank and I used to which somebody came in and tried
Speaker 3[inaudible]
Speaker 2You said you need what you need to say. You need to, I don't got the access to the same, bro. You don't got access to the same. Nah, bro. The manager ain't come in this morning and I got, I got$200. I'll give you 200. That's what I got. I used to wish him.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 2But as long as y'all are safe, man, I think, I think that's an important thing, man. All of these are jokes, bro. gotta be safe o ut here
Speaker 3Being annoying as usual.
Speaker 2Yo cannon. Ken, is that the new apartment? That's still the,
Speaker 3You live downtown.
Speaker 2So you just, my data rest up until the mall
Speaker 3Came, came back to the tropical smoothie and I'm like, Oh, I gotta go. I gotta go bike, riding bike at night dog. I gotta get it in the plugin bro. Safe, man. How about you do ride
Speaker 2About 10 miles to 50. Oh, about an hour out 15. Yeah. I told you, man, if I'm alive, if I'm going to lose this job, I'm going to be on top of stuff. Something something's working. I'm going eight to five doing something.
Speaker 3Yeah bro. No bike ride is lit man. And they got like a little trail. Two mile c utaway Greenway, a whole bunch of art graffiti all o ver b ro.
Speaker 2Yeah man. I gotta make it out to see what's up with that.
Speaker 3You got to come up and move down.
Speaker 2. You supposed to move West? Remember that?
Speaker 3Open up a mortgage.
Speaker 2I think it's u p. Y ou're supposed to move West again. Remember that?
Speaker 3Yeah. Hey, let me hit y'all back. I gotta run.
Speaker 2Yo, I gotta go. I gotta go do this bike ride. If is still up around eight 30, then we'll do this again. Bu t
Speaker 3All right man, I'll let you out, man. He's living in the back Southern crack and dumped the water on the fried smell like marijuana, man. You know that's my enrollment. Quiet less. You got that. Y'all will w hatever. Pull up w ith L oma a nd m y. Cool. I b rought him to my city. T his like the soda cleanses with ladders and climbing. No ro om s t ill f eel some type of way.[i naudible] d ropping jobs. God. Tha t is crazy, man. It's not the same 12 aske d me something. My no nothing. Especially how to n am e my mama tol d me. Get up off the bloc k dog str e ets. Tu rn my heart cold. The flow hot[ina udible] smo k e.
