Hello, welcome back to the Claim, your Awesome podcast. I'm so excited to dive into today's episode because we are talking about one of my absolute favorite things to discuss the power of positive thinking and how this super simple tool really is the key to manifesting more abundance and success in all areas of your life. And it really is quite simple. But we're going to dive into why it is really more simple in theory and why we get kind of stuck on it, and how to start to up, level your own thinking and adopt a more positive mindset. So earlier this week I had to have a colonoscopy. My mom actually had colon cancer when she was quite young, so this is my second colonoscopy. I have to go every five years and get them.

Speaker 1:

Unfortunately, everything was fine, everything looks good, but I had to be under to have this procedure done and it just totally wiped me out. I got home and I told my husband to let me sleep for an hour and I think I slept for two and a half hours. My body was just coming off of the anesthesia and I was just again really out of it, really really wiped out. And that night because now I've had this two and a half hour nap late in the afternoon, I just could not sleep. I think I was up from 11.30 to like three in the morning, and that never happens to me, but I was wide awake and my mind was just racing with all the thoughts, and when I'm up in the middle of the night it's quite annoying for me. I'm thinking of things like positive thinking and thinking of ways that I can better serve on my podcast and better serve my clients, and what tools can I share. I'm so absorbed into all of this just because I love it and I believe so strongly in its power. So, yeah, so just sharing a little bit of the backstory around how today's episode came to be, because in the middle of the night I had just this huge epiphany around really, how simple manifestation is right.

Speaker 1:

We are talking about the law of attraction, so, again, that's super easy to understand like attracts, like right. So if we want to attract more positive things in our life, whatever that is for you maybe it's love, maybe it's more money, more success it is something that you think is going to bring you some sort of feeling, some sort of emotion that is going to feel good for you. So good, that's what I mean by positive, right? What are good feeling emotions, their joy, their peace, freedom, love, ease, et cetera. So, in order to attract things into our life that are going to make us feel that way, we must align to that emotion now. So we must change our own energetic vibration, we must up level our emotional frequency to match what we want to attract into our life.

Speaker 1:

And that is, in the simplest terms, like, where this idea of positive thinking comes from. And I want to definitely preface this by saying that the idea of positive thinking sometimes gets a bad reputation, right, like people think, oh, you shouldn't. Just, you know, try to be positive all the time, force positive positivity. And I want to be super clear that that is 100% not what I'm talking about, because you trying to force being more positive if it feels truly forced or inauthentic, it's not going to attract what you want, right? We're talking about, like, what that like underlying emotion is. So you know, this is where being so true to yourself, creating more self-awareness, diving into what that looks like and feels like for you, is so important, because this is not like just put a smile on your face and you'll attract things into your life, right, do the work to unblock, uncover what's really going on. The flip side of that is, I do believe there is so many ways and so much to be said with just Flooding your environment with positivity, and what I mean by that is starting to ditch things that aren't serving you and being like completely blunt, like, if that's people, if that's Other circumstances, whatever it may be, take a hard look at it.

Speaker 1:

Is it serving you in your life? Is it draining your energy or is it filling you up? Right, we don't want any energy suckers in our life. It's just, it's not, doesn't serve anyone, right? It's not gonna serve you today and it's not gonna serve you in the long run. So what can you, first and foremost, do to start upgrading your energy? And it starts with your environment. And Once you do that, once you start seeing like, oh, I actually have the power to do this, I have the power to make these changes in my own life. And even when in within your own environment, maybe it's something as simple as, okay, well, I'm not going to, you know, start kicking people out of my life that aren't serving me. Maybe I'm not there yet.

Speaker 1:

Now, what can you do for you to feel better? Right, how can you prioritize More of your own space for you, more of your own time for you, really giving yourself permission to do things that feel really good and nourishing for you. So, again, like working out right, it starts to release all those really good endorphins and it feels really good and you do it consistently. And then when you're showing up consistently for yourself, that feels really good, you start to see progress in that, the more you do that, you start to trust yourself, you start to prove to yourself just what you're capable of. That is one way that you can just again energetically start to shift, like your emotional set point. Another way get just choosing to get out every day in nature and going for a walk before you start the day.

Speaker 1:

Of course I always talk about Meditation in the power of meditation. So what can you do for yourself that just feels really good? And then, in those moments, finding gratitude, because gratitude is like the key emotion to manifesting Anything that you want, and I'll dive into how that is true a little bit later. But you know, really in Dalgene, in gratitude, because when you are in gratitude, whether it be for yourself, whether it be for an experience or situation or the day, whatever it may be, it feels really really good. Right, we're not looking for anything outside of us to make ourselves feel better. We are in complete gratitude for everything that we already have, that we've already created. And again, in doing that, we're raising our you know, energetic vibration were, raising our emotional set point and then allowing more of that goodness, more of what we're currently grateful for, to come into our life and just makes it so easy, really good.

Speaker 1:

So then it gets easier and easier to think positively because you're feeling better. Right, you're not Dwelling on all of the things that you don't like in your life, you're not dwelling on all of the things that Maybe are going wrong, or you're not worrying and overthinking about all of the things that could go wrong. Right it. You can see and Maybe this is true for you it's so easy to go down the rabbit holes of all the things that you know could go wrong or that aren't right, and we can just get lost in this loop and, oh my gosh, that is just exhausting. It's like literally mentally and emotionally exhausting. If you've been there I'm sure all of us have you know that that just doesn't feel good. So how can you flip the script right? How can you just start to focus on Something that feels good instead, and even if it feels hard, to think really big picture about All of the blessings in your life. Maybe it's hard for you to see that in this moment.

Speaker 1:

Just choosing to focus on one thing that feels good, right, focus on one thing that feels better than the worry and the doubt and the fear and the judgment or whatever else. Right, just allowing yourself to put your Energetic focus on something else. And the more you do that and the more you practice that it will become second nature, because the more you do that, again, your programming these new neural pathways, and it just starts to get easier. You start to be attracted to the good. You start to be attractive, to attracted to what's possible in a good way, what you're capable of. Right, you're starting to naturally focus your attention On that line of thinking, on more positivity, versus on the old way of thinking of the worry and, oh my gosh, is this gonna go wrong or I have all this stuff to do? Right, there are so many really simple shifts. To just start to choose to see the good. Right, just start to feel more positive about things. Right, even just changing the language I remember during covid, by the end of the day I was just so wiped out and I remember thinking like I still I have to make dinner.

Speaker 1:

And with two little kids during covid, like dinner time was the witching hour. Everyone was getting hungry and cranky and it was stressful. And my daughter, she, didn't want to let go of my leg so I could barely move around the kitchen. And even by simply saying I get to make dinner for my family and said I have to make dinner right. Get to implies choice, right. Have to implies need. So when you get to do something, you're freeing yourself up to what's available to you, what's possible to you, right. So in the I get to do this. It also implies some level of gratitude, like yes, I'm grateful that you know I'm safe at home with my kids and I get to make them dinner and we get to be together. So just simple language around.

Speaker 1:

What's going on in your everyday life? How are you going through the day I have talked before about? So many of us are just going through the motions every day on autopilot, just allowing ourselves unconsciously to react to the moment. But I want to tell you right now take your power back, stop. You know, living in the reactive mode and start living with more purpose and intention. And you can do that just by the simple mindset shifts right, just by simply choosing how you want to see the experience. And really this is where I think it just gets tricky and I think it's just a huge cultural problem in the western world. But we're all so busy, right, like we all, between the demands of our job and our kids and their activities and the things that we want to do and family obligations and all the things, we feel like we are spread so thin that we just have to be in the reactive mode. But again, it's just not true. That is how you're living now, but it doesn't have to be that way.

Speaker 1:

You can choose intention, you can choose where you're going to put your focus and where you're going to put your attention, but it first requires you to slow down and take a step back. And that's not always easy, right, because that means that you have to give yourself permission to slow down. And I understand, for women, for moms, that is not the easiest thing to do, but I promise you it will make your life so much better, it will make things so much easier when you're living from a place of intention, right, when you're living on purpose, when you're choosing to See the joy, you're choosing to think positively, you're slowing down, your, your now opening up your own awareness of oh my gosh, I used to you know again like just using this dinner time example. I used to be like just dreading this idea of dinner time and it was such like a thing that I did not look forward to at the end of the day put me in such a funky mood. And now I've slowed down, I could see my, my thought pattern around that. Right, I brought awareness to it, I brought presence to it because I was able to slow down, because I prioritize slowing down, and in doing so I could see okay, that's the pattern.

Speaker 1:

Can I flip the script here? Can I change my mindset about this? One simple thing, and that's where it starts. It starts literally with one simple thing and then you start to feel better about that thing and you're like, oh, that really wasn't so hard. It was actually way easier than I expected it to be, because mindset work actually makes everything so much easier to figure out. It's like what is hard is when, again, we're just stuck in the over thinking, in the judging and Doing the same thing every day and expecting something to change. Right, but the mindset shift, it's so easy. I'm not asking you to get up tomorrow morning and run five miles before your day starts to change your mood. It's something so much easier than that.

Speaker 1:

And for me, I remember again, I always mentioned like meditation and gratitude. Those things were huge, huge, huge for me, kind of when I started my own journey around this, and then in the morning when I would take a shower, I would often put some sort of like meditation for Like positive energy or clarity or abundance on in the shower and just Letting the words kind of sink into my brain when I was in this relaxed state in the shower. So I didn't even really have to think that hard about I just again, just let the words and the sound of it just kind of be absorbed and it instantly Started to change things for me. And that's why I just believe so strongly in the power of thinking positively. Right, just so easy. And it feels so good. Because, again, at the end of the day, don't we want to just feel really freaking good? Don't we want to just feel like we're so capable of Doing and creating and being anything that we want right. And it starts with feeling good, because In order to get to that place, you need to have clarity around what that even looks like for you.

Speaker 1:

You need to understand what that feels like for you. You you need to be able to fully like, immerse yourself in that vision. And the thing that so many people don't understand is you cannot solve the problem from the same space that created it. So what I mean by that is if you're like, oh my gosh, I'm just miserable in my current situation. I just I hate this job. I want to do something more creative. I want to do something that gives me more freedom and flexibility, and you know what you want. But you're just stuck in this mental space of just being so frustrated about your job and just again being in the loop of the frustration, of the discontent, of being unhappy of whatever those emotions are for you. Until you step outside of those emotions, you cannot have, like the clarity and the insights and the creative thoughts to help you get out of that situation. But once you give yourself permission to again step back, bring some presence to the moment, bring some awareness and allow yourself to just be, allow yourself to start again changing that emotional set point that's going on inside of you.

Speaker 1:

Insights start to come in, right? It's like oh, let me reach out to my friend from this past job. I don't know why I'm just I haven't thought about her in five years. But let me give her a call. And you give her a call and she's like oh, I'm creating this thing. Would you be interested in working on it with me? Whatever, I'm just making up an example. But it's like that's how it works and that's how fun it gets to be and that's why it's so easy, right? It's like give yourself a chance to let your own intuition and your own inner guidance system actually do its job and guide you, and I promise you it is so much easier, it's so much more freeing, it's so much more fun, right?

Speaker 1:

But you have to choose to start to ditch those negative thoughts, those negative emotions and, just like, even if it's 5% every day, choose something more positive, right? Even if, like in this moment, you're so frustrated and you're caught in the loop, is there one thing you can do right now that feels good to you? Maybe? It's like you know what? I'm going to walk away from my work computer and I'm going to go sit on the couch and I'm just going to pet my dog for five minutes because I love my dog and she just brings me so much joy. Right, it's something so simple, like start doing that and do it in a way that's conscious and intentional. Because when you do it with intention, with purpose, you again see that you actually have the power. You're bringing your own awareness and presence to the situation and you have the power to make those changes right, and it just gets so easy. You're like oh, I just had to change my thinking, I just had to start thinking a little bit more positively. Now I'm feeling really good right. Now I'm operating at a new emotional set point and now all of the things that you wanted start to come into your life right, and just feels easy. It's just flowing, it's just fun, right, you're no longer paddling against the current right, you're just in the flow and it's just so good. So I love the idea of using manifestation as a way to really get closer to your goals faster, and the reason that this is so powerful is in doing the manifestation work. Again, when you choose to think positively and you're getting these insights, you're reprogramming the subconscious.

Speaker 1:

So I've mentioned at least a few times that over the past 15 years of my own life I have tried to start, or I have started, a few different types of businesses. Some worked out okay. Some I just totally sabotage, self-sabotage them, and I would be constantly beating myself up around why can't I just get this right? Like what in the heck? And I hadn't really gotten into manifestation yet, right, I was just pushing so hard, trying to do all the things. It wasn't working out the way I wanted. I was doubting myself a ton and then I would just give up way too early, give up when things got uncomfortable.

Speaker 1:

And what I realized is once I got into manifestation, kind of by accident. I basically got into manifestation because I just again started listening to these meditations and this power of positive thinking and I was like, oh my gosh, it just feels so good. I wanted more and I wanted to absorb as much of that as I could, because I was just having so much fun and I was seeing different things manifest in my own life and it was just like, oh, what more can I do? What more can I create? How much more fun can I have? And so that's where I really kind of dove into this idea of manifestation, and that was prior to then starting this coaching business and wanting to share this with other women.

Speaker 1:

And what I realized is starting this business and showing up for this business consistently and really going all in on myself and, you know, just having so much fun in a way that feels really easy and almost effortless, is only because of the manifestation. Because, yes, strategy of course, with anything, is important, but strategy means nothing if the energy work isn't there to support it. And that's what the manifestation work does. Whether you know whether that's the end goal or not, typically it's not the end goal. Right, you're doing manifestation work because you want to manifest a physical thing, but the beautiful thing about manifestation is like all these other wonderful things are happening to you. Right, again, you're reprogramming your subconscious mind, you're figuring out how to get out of your own way. Again, I always say that in the most compassionate way possible, but it's through doing this reprogramming work, through thinking positively, it's like you're always seeing that there's a solution, you know that things are working out for you, you have this greater level of faith and commitment to yourself and it's just fun. And again, I think it's like, really, you've learned that you don't need to overthink anymore, right, you're just letting the flow of life happen and you're trusting all of it and you're trusting yourself and it feels good and you just get to play and be curious and that just makes it so much easier because then you're actually showing up consistently for yourself and the consistency is huge, no matter what you're doing, but anytime you're working towards a goal like so much of it is consistency, right.

Speaker 1:

There's hundreds of books written out there about establishing healthy habits and how to stick to habits and all this other stuff and that might work for some people. I've read some of those books. They haven't worked for me, but manifestation has, because in just doing habit work it hasn't gotten to for me like the root of what's really going on. But in doing manifestation work it's allowed me to again reconnect to who I really am and start to reprogram the subconscious. You know, allow me to get super clear, crystal clear on exactly what I want, exactly what my goals are, and all of those things make it so much easier to then show up and do the work, to then implement a strategy, right, like it just makes it so much easier and so much more fun Again when you're not doubting yourself and you're just trusting and playing and having fun.

Speaker 1:

So there's this woman, helen Hadsell, and she has won 5,000 contests through the power of positive thinking and I've heard her story a few times but it recently kind of came back into my awareness so I was you can Google or search on YouTube Helen Hadsell and there's different stories and things that show up about her and how she's done this. But she, I love her story because it is so just innocent and it makes just manifesting like really simplified and easy and I love it. So she had read a book Power of Positive Thinking and she basically says to her husband do you know that you can have anything that you want If you just think it and believe that you can have it and expect it's coming. And she was like on this bandwagon, like as soon as she read the book and she was all into it. And so she asked her husband what he wants and he says, well, there's this contest for this motorboat. Like I'd like to have this motorboat. He really liked fishing. So she puts herself. She was like, great, we have to fill out some sort of essay for why we want this boat. So she does it and she basically puts herself into, kind of, her husband's shoes because she has to envision using this boat and fishing, and that wasn't really her thing, but she was able to still envision that and really set the scene in her mind and she you know just so clearly and beautifully is just like yep, so I envisioned it and you know, naturally, they called me a week later and we won the contest and then she goes on to win, like I said, 5000 contests.

Speaker 1:

So what I love about her story is her commitment to the belief of it's hers right, like if she wants something and she can envision herself having it, she is so committed to the belief that she just expects it to be hers. And that is what I think that people have the hardest time with, because you know, we don't always totally believe that. So how can you allow yourself to believe that a little bit more? And if you're new to this idea of manifestation, I encourage you to start a little bit smaller. Start with something that you believe can happen, because maybe you're like well, I'm gonna envision that I'm winning. You know, the powerball jackpot or one of those like lotteries, I think was just over a billion dollars. If you truly believe that you're the winner, beautiful, go all in on that. But I find that A lot of times it's like we Ninety percent think we can believe it, or maybe even less. So I want you to play around with manifestation and start with things that, like, you just fully believe in, right? So maybe, maybe fifty thousand sounds like too big of a number, but maybe can a thousand dollars show up in your life within the next month, right, play around with that, see what you believe and as it shows up, as you play around with it, then you build up that trust and build up that expectation and you can start calling in Bigger things, calling in other things into your life.

Speaker 1:

And I love this example. She shares this. She calls it her spec method. So you gotta select, you gotta select it. So select what it is exactly that you want. Then you have to project it. So that's where the vision work comes in. And really and I'm just gonna add in here the vision work is Really, see yourself as it already being done. And I love gratitude here because, again, can you have gratitude For, for, as if you've already received it, can you have gratitude for it as if it's already done, as if it's already yours, right, like that's how you can get into that emotional state. How are you going to feel when you have the thing? Next, expect it. So I like to use the exam by my share here before.

Speaker 1:

Like you know, when you order something on Amazon, you just expect that it's gonna be on your doorstep. Or you go to a restaurant, you order something off the menu, you just expect that it's going to show up in front of you. Right, like it's just something so easy. How can you Bring that same level of expectation to what it is that you want? And then the C is collected, right, get whatever it is that you want. So when I think so many people get hung up is again this idea of the expectation or the belief that it is yours. Right, it's so easy to know what we want, it's so easy to do the vision work and see what we want and, of course, we want to get to the collection part.

Speaker 1:

But the expectation is hard, and this is when the doubts and the limiting beliefs, especially when it comes to Manifesting goals, manifesting bigger things I'm not just talking about, you know, getting a thousand dollars in your life or you know some other fun, smaller things that you may want to manifest. It's like, when it's not happening as fast as we wanted to, when it's not showing up in our physical reality as quickly as we want to, we're not seeing the results, like it's not working, right, this isn't working. This isn't working. Then we go into the lack, in the scarcity, and again we have then fallen out of alignment with the expectation. Right, so Just expect it to be there and then this is where the positive thinking is so important. Just have so much fun, just constantly being gratitude for everything that you have in this moment. Just Enjoy the journey. Just again. Have more fun. Choose joy, right, choose gratitude.

Speaker 1:

Just staying in that positive energy. It's like, yes, I know I've. I know that, because of the law of attraction, if I want something, if I desire something, it is available to me now. Right, it is already done, it's already available to me. So now you just need to align with that energy and let it come to you.

Speaker 1:

And that is the hardest part. It's like it feels like we're waiting, and then again, when it's Taking too long, we're starting to lose our belief that it's happening. But the belief is where the magic happens. Like, how can you be so steadfast In that belief? How can you have more faith? How can you surrender more? How can you open yourself up to receiving more? And again, this is where it's like how can you just be more right? How can you be more aligned, be more connected to your own truth, right to your own inner essence, because that is pure joy already.

Speaker 1:

Right, connecting to those emotions, choosing positive thinking. Right, choosing to have fun, choosing to feel good and just expecting that whatever it is you want is on its way to you. It is, I guarantee it, I promise it's all available for you, because abundance is infinite and abundance is your birth right. Abundance in every single area of your life. I want you to get super intentional. Select exactly what it is that you want for yourself, for your life, right Now, in the next six months, in the next year, and just trust that it's coming to you. Right, align with what you're gonna feel, align with that emotion. Shower yourself with all of the gratitude that you're going to feel when you have the thing that you want, all of the gratitude that you're gonna feel when you crush your goals. Right, just feeling so good and lit up even in those moments, just allowing yourself to savor what that feels like. Literally, you will feel the energy, the positive energy spreading throughout your body, right, you'll feel the tingling sensation that's just all of your cells and that positive energy that you're bringing to it, and instantly you can raise your own vibration right, like in those moments, and that's what I'm talking about. That is the power that you hold right. Tap into that power as often as you can. Give yourself the emotion that you want to experience. You have that power. We all do and when you do that, everything that you want is so magnetic to you, right, everything starts to just come into your world. Life gets so much more fun, life gets so much easier and it just feels really freaking good.
