In today's episode, we are talking about energy. Everything is energy and energy is everything. Knowing how to work with your own energy will change your life in more ways than you can imagine. So we're diving into how to do just that. We're talking about how to elevate your energy, how to keep your energy clean, what to do when you're maybe in a funk, kind of in the state of negative energy, and even how to maximize productivity through your natural energetic states, and so much more. Knowing how to work with your own energy will change your life in more ways than you can even begin to imagine. I'm excited to share this because it truly is powerful, life-changing work to really understand your own energy and the power that you have around your energy. But before we dive into today's episode, I'm excited to announce that I am going to open doors to apply to work with me one-on-one starting this Monday, october 2nd, and this is for you.
Speaker 1:If maybe you're feeling called to step into something new for you. So, again, I'll share that in the show notes next week. Okay, so let's move on to today's episode. All right, friends, I am so excited to share the episode today.
Speaker 1:I have been thinking so much about the power of energy lately and really just seeing how this enhances so many aspects of my own life, that I decided I had to do an entire episode about this. So what do you think of when you hear the word energy? Maybe your first thought goes to your physical energy level either I'm tired, which is obviously low energy, or maybe you feel lively, vibrant, excited, energized, excuse me, which is obviously on the high energy side, but energy is so much more than this and, even more importantly, we have the ability to improve how we feel physically, mentally and emotionally, simply by doing our own energy work. Everything is energy. Money is energy. Some people use energy to heal. What can be done with energy is infinite, but this doesn't have to be intimidating. Each and every one of you has this power and you can explore it as far and wide as you feel called to do so, right.
Speaker 1:So, as you're listening to this, you fall into one of two camps You're either feeling pretty good about life today or you just wanna be feeling better about life today. And I say this in this way because I know there is so much gray area here and I'm really not wanting or intending to make this episode about all of the facets of mental health, emotional health, et cetera, when it comes to energy. I want it just to be more of a broader conversation around energy and the power of energy, and the power that comes when you can learn to create your own desired energetic state. So we are multifaceted, multi-dimensional beings having this human experience, and it is layered and complex, but at the end of the day, we all just want to feel our best to be able to say this life is pretty freaking amazing in whatever way that looks and feels like for you. So I'm first going to speak to those of you who are feeling pretty good right now, and we are gonna talk about keeping our energy clean. Our energetic vibration is elevated, so how do we keep that feeling lasting longer? And I want to start with this part, because it's so much easier to talk about elevating our energy or keeping our energy clean when we're already in a place of having, you know, higher energy, of having, like, a higher energetic vibration.
Speaker 1:So first, use this opportunity to savor the goodness right, savor the way you feel right now. Savor how good it feels to be living just In so much joy and peace and ease and whatever other emotions you're experiencing right now. Start your day in gratitude, find moments of gratitude throughout your day. Right, see it everywhere. Move your body, dance, walk what, work out whatever feels best for you. Get out into nature, get outside as early as possible and let the Sun shine on your face. Get that extra dose of vitamin D. Feel the grass on your bare feet. Become really grounded to the earth. Right, when we're outside in our bare feet, really Grounding ourselves, really connecting to the earth, do yoga, do meditation, laugh, right. Play all of those funny movies, hug people you love. Make time for real connection. Prioritize things that bring you joy. Again, when our energy is clean, it's so much easier to do this work.
Speaker 1:So Use this as an opportunity to hear your own inner guidance, right, listen and then lean in. Where is it guiding you? What is it calling you? To go through the day with playful curiosity, right, just Seeing, being open to whatever comes your way, finding pleasure in that, allowing yourself to Go through the day with more ease and flow. Smile at strangers, connect to the present moment and if you're already doing this, try to see if you can do it even more deeply and fully.
Speaker 1:Keep following what feels good eat clean foods, drink more water, limit the alcohol, limit the sugar, limit the processed foods. All of these things are really quite easy to do if you approach them, as I'm feeling really good and I want to keep my energy clean and, yes, it goes beyond some of these things, right, some of the things like meditation and gratitude. Those are huge practicing presence and mindfulness, yoga. Those things are so, so important. But equally important are what we're putting in our body, right. Are we putting too much processed food, or you're putting too much sugar, or Drinking too much alcohol? All of these things affect our energy and again, when you're feeling good, it's much easier to start to cultivate practices to keep your energy clean right. When you're already feeling good, it's so much easier to do this, especially if you're just tuning in and and asking yourself seeing what feels really good for me right now. How can I follow that any even more? And as you do this, you will notice you will feel good Not only more often, but those stints between, when you may have triggers right.
Speaker 1:Life always happens. The stints of feeling really good, they last longer. And when you feel good, as you know, everything around you improves how you view the world, your relationships, just even how you think other people are driving, right. I know that when I'm feeling frustrated, it's like no one around me knows how to drive, everyone's all in a hurry. But when I'm feeling good, it's like everyone else also seems to be at ease and I know that they're not. It's just my perception, right, it improves your perception. And again, as we know, perception is reality and reality is perception. And even better, thanks to the law of attraction, you begin to attract positive circumstances and situations and events into your life, and the more you can be in these practices, the lighter and shorter again those inevitable moments of low energy or, dare I say, negative energy will be. So I want to take this a step further because, again, when you are feeling positive, it is easier to see that life is always working out for you.
Speaker 1:This is why gratitude is so important. As the saying goes, what you appreciate appreciates. Going back to my episode from last week, when we put our attention on gratitude, the brain gets to work to show you more evidence Of gratitude in your life, more things to be grateful for. I talk about gratitude a lot, and this is why Use this as a sign or a reminder to get in the routine of starting your day in gratitude. Now I want to move into Raising your energy and getting out of what I like to call a funk.
Speaker 1:Again, lots of gray area here. I completely understand a Funk could be like you're in a bad mood for a very brief stent. Something happened you got an email from work that you didn't like, put you in a bad mood and Obviously a funk, you know, can. I don't even want to compare a funk to something like a state of a depression, but a funk can obviously have its own Various degrees as well, but that's what I call it for myself, like when I'm not feeling good, but I'm not feeling myself, when I'm not feeling my best, and just like man, a funk I can feel it right, like I just want to shake the energy. But before we get out of the funk, let's understand what got us here in the first place, because this is really where things get good and you can start to Step into your own power.
Speaker 1:So if you're not driving and you have the ability to do a little exercise with me, I invite you to do so again, please do not do this. If you're driving operating heavy machinery, you need to be fully present, concentrate somewhere, okay. So if it feels good to you, go ahead and just close your eyes, take a nice deep breath in through your nose and Exhale. Let's do another one take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale, and One last time. Deep breath in through your nose, and one last time, and one last time, and exhale, start to calm and quiet the mind Now, just breathing rhythmically.
Speaker 1:I want you to try to think of what your next thought will be. Just stay here for a moment and I want you to see. Can you anticipate what your next thought is? Can you think of what your next thought is? What is it going to be? I want you to just stay with me here. You cannot anticipate your next thought. You don't have the awareness of the thought until it is a thought. But this is a great practice for presence. Now I want to see if you can notice something Even in the absence of thought, there is awareness. Can you feel that now? Can you feel the awareness of the stillness of your breath, of your being, even without the thoughts, even without thinking, you can feel that you are here. There is the thought and the observer of the thought. You are the observer. You are not the thought. You are not your thoughts. You can go ahead and open your eyes if you haven't already done so already, and I'm starting here because once you realize that you have the power over your internal state, your life will drastically change for the better. So let me now bring this back to energy.
Speaker 1:You're going through your day happy as a clam, and then something happens and you get triggered. Maybe you receive a text or an email that frustrates you, maybe you're working on a project at work and suddenly this sneaky, pesty little belief pops into your head that you don't have what it takes to be doing the job that you have at work. It could be a million things. I could literally list a million other examples, and I also know that I don't have to, because I'm sure you have one that's very present right now, in this very instance, in your mind, but you are not your thoughts. And because you are not your thoughts, you have the choice to be objective over your thoughts, and the more you realize this and practices, you will see that you have mastery over your internal state. So the better you get at this, you will soon come to experience that you will no longer be triggered by the things that used to so easily set you off in the past, thus leading you into the funk or leading you into that bad mood or whatever it is. Or, if you do get triggered, you won't stay there as long as maybe you previously had, and this is the real freedom, this is the key to living a life that feels so freaking good. This is the power.
Speaker 1:So just to kind of reiterate that, once you can fully see, okay, I'm having this thought, right, I get this text and I'm feeling frustrated about it. Maybe it upset me. Why am I upset? Right, all of these thoughts start going through your head. Maybe a friend she ditched on getting dinner with you and you're like this friend always does this and you start going into this spiral and maybe you start to think what does this mean about me? Whatever the thoughts are, right, you go into the thoughts, start to go into this spiral.
Speaker 1:But again, you have the power to create more space between the thought and the observer, right, the more space you can create between the thought, the more you can see the thought simply and strictly for what it is a thought, the more power you have over it, the more you are in your true state, which is the observer role, okay. And the second you Give yourself that power, the second you presence that thought, the thought loses power, okay, and the mind? It's harder for it to start or to continue to produce thoughts that are going down that spiral. You have the power, you have the control over your reaction to this thought, your perception of the thought, the judgment of the thought. Okay, you have that power, and the more you practice that, the more you see the thought simply for what it is. It's not you, it's simply a thought. It gets easier to be present to this and it becomes easier to then not get triggered by this and you can see things as they are with complete acceptance, without judgment. It's just a fact, right? The friend Can't go to dinner, right? That's the fact. The thoughts are all the judgments, all the beliefs, all the things that we think it means, either about us or blaming her or all the other crap that we add to that statement. Okay, you have the power over all of the judgments. All right, so sorry, I went on a little bit longer of a tangent than I had intended to there, but just to kind of put it in in practical Form there, so you can really see how you can start to presence the thought and what that looks like and questioning it, and how that ultimately frees you up from letting yourself then fall into these negative states of energy, into these funks, into these letting these triggers get to us.
Speaker 1:Okay, so now let's move on to how do we get out of the funk. Right, like, oh my gosh, I Hate being in a funk. I'm sure I've probably said this on this podcast. I know I'm not the only one. Like who doesn't? You know who doesn't feel miserable when they're in a funk and just want to do everything possible to get out of it? Right, it's just such an uncomfortable like place to be in and Sometimes it seems like the harder you try to get out of the funk Literally, the harder it is to get out of that place. You're just like why can't I feel better? Why can't I just shake this? Those are things that I say to myself, like why can't I get over it? Why can't I just, yeah, get out of this mood? So I could tell you to meditate, to go for a walk, to work out, get a good cry in right, watch a good sad movie, connect with a friend.
Speaker 1:Really, anything I shared earlier when I talked about keeping your energy clean, you could do now to get out of the funk, and I think most of us know that right, like, we try to do things that make us feel better and Depending on what's bothering you Sorry guys, I don't know why I keep getting a little tickle in my throat and, depending on what's bothering you, those May work relatively quickly or they may take a lot more time to work. Again, it really depends on you. It depends on, kind of like, your own emotional state. Oftentimes we do simply just need to Move energy, and that's where working out and some of these things going for a run crying, are really good to release that. But I Want to share the one thing that I have found to be wildly useful and helpful for me, because, again, those things are good but they may just take longer to work, they may not be as effective, and then I'll share, like, another part of that a little bit after I, after I explain what's really helpful for me.
Speaker 1:So, first, the most important thing to realize is Life is always showing you lessons, right triggers our teachers. There are natural ebbs and flows of life. This is true as well for your own growth and expansion. So, instead of feeling bad about yourself, instead of judging how you feel, instead of just trying to push or force past this funk, you know, push the emotional way, trying to get out of this funk, embrace it. I Know that sounds crazy, but this works. This is the key. This has literally changed everything for me and I've shared before, I'm a seven in the enneagram.
Speaker 1:That's the enthusiast. The enthusiast is not very good about Exploring emotions. This is very hard for me. I'm very optimistic and positive. Naturally, I don't like to dive into the deep stuff, but once I learned how to do that, holy cow, it changed everything for me, and Now I'm so obsessed with it and I'm always like embrace it, embrace the emotion, embrace what's there. So Allow it to be there fully, without judgment, and then get curious, become your own super sleuth.
Speaker 1:Ask yourself why is this here? What is the situation trying to show me? What is it trying to teach me? Be super open and honest with yourself and let whatever wants to come through come through. And I promise, if you do this consistently, if you practice this, if you slow down and listen, you will get the exact answer you need to clear whatever is going on, and then you can move on, you can move forward, you can get out of this funk. Once you do this, you will instantly start to feel lighter. Once you ask and the answer is revealed to you, why are you, you know, in this current state, what's actually bothering you? Why are you being triggered by this? Once you see that it just, it's just like oh, life just needed to share that message with me. Life just needed to show me that life just wanted me to learn this, to understand this, so I can grow, so I can move on, so I can, you know, grow to the next level, whatever it is. And if you're feeling a little bit more adventurous, you can even see where you're experiencing the emotional trigger in your body.
Speaker 1:I have talked about this as well in a previous episode, but you can again say you're feeling in a resentment. Say maybe you're frustrated with your partner or spouse and you're there's just like some resentment that you're feeling about a situation. Where do you feel that resentment in your body right now? Can you find it? Can you allow it to be there? Can you just breathe into it, accepting it, not judging it right.
Speaker 1:It's so often what gets hard is we feel the resentment and something happens. We feel resentment and instead of tuning into our body, we instantly go into our head. We instantly go into the story of why we're mad, of why we're resentful, of why we're frustrated, all the things right. We're replaying the story like on repeat, and when we do that, we're just reliving that situation over and over again. It does not serve. It does not make anything better. What works is dropping the story.
Speaker 1:Get into your body. Where do you feel the resentment? Okay, again, meeting it with acceptance and, literally, literally. I want you to do this. Ask it what does it need right now? Right, what does it want to show you? What does it want to say? Just embrace it, as if it's like a friend that needs something from you, that, like, wants you to support it. Right, it will tell you, like, maybe it wants you just to be with it. Maybe it wants you to see something in a new way. Maybe it just wants you to sit with it for a couple of minutes, without judgment, without questioning, without trying to get rid of it, without being again lost in the story. Just sit with it, see what comes up. Maybe it wants you to just yell, right, maybe it wants you to like clear some of those chakras and just yell, like from your throat, just really get it out. Maybe it wants you to dance. I'm just making things up, but tune into your body.
Speaker 1:If you haven't done this before, I recognize that this may sound totally silly and totally crazy, but trust me when I say that your body knows, right. Your body knows what it needs and lean into that right. Just be there, ask what it needs, trust it, follow it right. Trust your own wisdom, trust your body and then do the thing right. Don't just say, oh, it wants me to go for a quick walk around the block and shake my hands out and do a couple of jumping jacks I might not be that detailed again, but you get my point but actually do it. Don't just dismiss it and then see how you feel afterwards. Right, I guarantee you're going to feel lighter. Even if it's not totally gone, you're going to feel lighter. Or it might say you know what.
Speaker 1:You need to go have a conversation with your partner about what's really bothering you, about how you're feeling. This resentment is impacting you, what you know. You need to get this off your chest, whatever it is. But just trust yourself. Don't live in the negative emotion Like that's where we get into these funks and if you don't do this, will the feeling eventually go away anyway? Yes, I'm sure it will. I know before I've done this work. Clearly I would be in a bad mood and eventually, you know, the mood would pass or my funk would pass. I would get out of it.
Speaker 1:But here is the kicker, and here's what I really learned the hard way. This will keep coming back again and again until you're ready to learn from it, until you're ready to receive the lesson and release it, okay. So this is why, like, we repeat the same patterns in our life and until you wake up to that, you're going to keep living that same pattern over and over. It's just happening unconsciously, right? You're going to keep having the same experience that you don't want until you wake up to it and see what's the lesson here? What do I need to release to move past this? Okay, and oftentimes it's just again accepting and surrendering to it and letting the emotion move through the body sorry, letting the energy move through your body, okay. So sometimes it's a lesson, sometimes it's healing right, it's always for your own growth, all right. So we've talked about keeping your energy clean and how to energetically get out of a funk.
Speaker 1:Now let's talk about raising your energy. I love this one. Once you start to master the first two and you realize how good you feel, you are going to want more, and this is really where the magic starts to happen. It's so freaking good. So, again, if you're in a place where you can do this exercise with me, I invite you to do so Again, please. If you're driving, operating, having machinery needing to be fully present and aware for something you know, don't do it. You can always come back to it later. All right, so go ahead and close your eyes Again, take a nice deep breath in through your nose and exhale Again. Take another deep breath in through your nose and exhale fully, and one more time, take a deep breath in through your nose, exhale fully.
Speaker 1:Now I want you to just start by bringing all of your attention and awareness to the palms of your hands. You can either, you know, put your hands on your desktop or surface, or simply just lift your palms to the sky, but bring all of your attention to your hands. Focusing only on the palms of your hands, breathing in, can you start to feel the energy in your hands, simply by directing your focus and attention there. Right, you can start to feel the tingling. Maybe they feel warm. That is the energy in your hands Now. I want you to now put the same energy to the core of your body, near your belly button. Again, you have this powerful energy vibrating throughout your entire being, throughout your entire physical body.
Speaker 1:Put that attention and focus at your core, meaning that there's a powerful energy inside of you, inside every single cell of your being. Start to connect to that now. Start to feel the energy getting stronger in your core, из that power. Imagine that power is a globe of white light and it's starting out just like the size of a little bouncy ball, but it's expanding. Through the power of your own mind, you can expand that energy. Keep focusing on it now, now that white globe to radiate even bigger, to grow, to expand, to get larger. The energy there is expanding. Let it get bigger and bigger. Let this power inside of you grow and grow Again through your own attention, through your own focus, through the power of your mind, letting it expand. Let it expand now into your chest, up through your shoulders, feeling the power, feeling the tingling, feeling the cells come alive. Let that energy expand up through your neck, your head, down through your arms, your forearms, into your hands. Again feeling the power being connected to that energy Now letting it move into your pelvic area, into your thighs, your shins, calves, feet. Let this energy become electric, feeling your entire body buzzing, letting that energy grow. You have this power. You're doing this and it gets to feel really good Breathing into that.
Speaker 1:The more you breathe into it, the energy expands. Breathe in really deeply in through your nose and exhale If you want. You can pause this. You can stay here as long as you want. Otherwise you can start to just wiggle your fingers and your toes, bring the awareness back into your body, come back to the moment and open your eyes whenever you're ready so you can see, you can literally feel the energy activating and rising in your body. That is all you. You have the power anytime to do that, anytime you want or need. You don't need anything outside of yourself to make you feel a certain way, to make you feel good, to make you feel like you are in a high vibrational energetic state. You can give that to yourself. And again, this is freedom. This is a powerful way to live On this place. You realize that if nothing can give you this power, nothing has the power to take it away. It is always inside of you. Now, what do you do with all this newfound positive energy? Anything you want, right? Anything you want, anything you feel called to, anything that feels good. And this leads me now to talking about maximizing productivity by channeling your energy.
Speaker 1:So, as I mentioned earlier, there is a natural balance to life right, ebs and flows, yin and yang, even joy and sadness. There are certain truths to life that cannot be experienced without the polarity of having two experiences, and the balance of masculine and feminine is the exact same thing. Both are needed, both support one another. You can't have one without the other, and this is the part that I really want you to hear Seeing what the balance looks and feels like for you is life-changing.
Speaker 1:I used to be so strongly tied to the masculine energy, and when I say masculine and feminine, I don't mean male and female, I literally mean the energy in which we live. Some people could say, yes, do men experience more masculine energy? Maybe, maybe not right Like in. The same goes for women, okay, so masculine, always doing, always needing to find purpose in creating right. This is very much how Western cultures are Like. This is what so much of our society kind of has been built on, especially here in America, and these beliefs and programs are very rooted in not just our culture but in how we show up, or maybe don't show up, for ourselves and our goals. So, then, the feminine is all about ease and flow, right, much more deeply connected to intuition and being. And as I started to dive into my own personal growth journey and shed these outdated masculine aspects of myself that no longer serve me, I became more deeply connected to my own divine feminine. There is so much love and beauty and that feels so good to me. But again, this is the most important thing when you honor both aspects of the masculine and feminine, life gets really magical.
Speaker 1:There is always a delicate balance, a dance between doing and being right, doing masculine and being feminine. The coach I studied with last year would say that instead of doing, doing, doing or being, being, being, it is more like doobie, doobie, doobie, and I love that it is. It's like finding this balance and this dance that is right for you. And I found that when I honored the doing and being, my productivity skyrocketed in a way that felt really good for me, because I love doing, I love creating, I love being productive, and when I'm not doing those things, I don't feel my best. And if I'm connected solely to the feminine, solely to just being in flow with going, with the movement, I didn't feel right. I recognized that I needed some of the balance and structure of the masculine, the ability to find flow and ease in doing right, like that is the right dance for me, the right balance for me.
Speaker 1:When I was able to figure that out, everything started to change. Because, again, I love this idea of being in feminine flow, like it feels so good, but I was kept getting stuck in there because I kept avoiding the masculine. I think I was so burned out, just as being a part of this society and culture that praises like the hustle and the grind and the going, going, going, doing, doing, doing, hard work, hard work, hard work. It was like I wanted to like run away from that, but what I found is, again, when I went too far into the feminine, that didn't serve me either. So it was really when I found that balance that things started to shift for me. And could it change? Where I want to move even more into feminine, of course, like I could evolve and things could shift.
Speaker 1:I currently am obsessed with learning everything possible about the divine feminine. I find it so fascinating. And yet, in honoring the masculine, I also no longer judge that masculine part of me that enjoys being in my purpose right, because I wouldn't feel so deeply connected to my purpose if it weren't for slowing down in the first place and really being in my divine feminine energy. Right. So you can see how living in purpose, creating from purpose, how they combine and pair so well together when you honor both. So how can you start to maximize your own productivity, just like I shared in last week's episode? Start by slowing down. It is only when you slow down that you can start to become aware of what actually feels good to you, to feel where you're being called to, feel what you need less of and where you crave more of. Your body knows. Again, trust that and take the necessary steps.
Speaker 1:Find your own dance of doobie, doobie, doobie, doobie, okay, and if you're interested in this, I mean there's so much great information that you can find. I know people who really tie their schedules and kind of their productivity for the month around their menstrual cycles. There's a ton of information around that. If you want to understand just more about divine feminine, there's a ton of really great information obviously out there about that and how you can tap into that more. So, just again, see like this life gets to be so fun, right, like there's.
Speaker 1:So I love living in this time Like there's so much to learn and we constantly have the opportunity to evolve and we're constantly invited to just see what's next for us and that's so fun. I mean, gosh, five years ago I never thought I would be talking on a podcast about feminine energy and it's just like I love, like just again being so open and curious to where life will take you and leaning in and again following that guidance and knowing that it doesn't have to be like one right answer, like that is where it gets to be so much fun. So, as I leave you today, can you simply set an intention to become aware of your own energy. What's zapping your energy? What's giving you energy?
