Godfather Role: Baptism, Church & Political Chaos | EP.134
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We come back from a short break and talk through what it feels like when work, home projects, and family plans keep stacking up with no real pause. The conversation drifts from studio upgrades and travel headaches into faith, baptism, godparent responsibility, politics, and how we limit media so it doesn’t shape our home more than we do.
• getting hit with nonstop chores and time pressure at home
• fixing up more rooms in the studio and trying to scale up as business owners
• work travel disrupting holidays and family routines
• baptising another godchild and what being a godparent should actually mean
• church requirements for baptism and why the paperwork matters
• the meaning of baptism, communion, and confirmation beyond the party
• praying for people in public and getting past embarrassment
• calling out political extremes, war rhetoric, and blasphemy regardless of party
• “trickle the media” as a way to protect your mind and your kids
• talking honestly about culture-heavy shows and what they normalize

Back From Hiatus And Overbooked
SPEAKER_01Hey, what's up, everybody? Uh, Patch Boys are back after a short hiatus. I know, man. I mean, uh, it's been crazy busy. Like, I feel like we're repeating ourselves, but I feel like this this year it's it's it's it's we're taking on a lot of shit, and yeah, it's gonna be crazy, man.
SPEAKER_02It really is. It's like uh, it's like uh man, it's just it's like you know, uh the other day I was thinking about like I just want to uh chill like a weekend where I don't do nothing. But then I'm starting to realize now, like I don't think I think it's me too. Like I don't want to just like I like I want to sit down, but I don't like you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Like I there's always something to do, so it's kind of fucking difficult, you know what I mean? Like, ah man, I just want to fucking sit and play video games and shit, you know. It it always reminds me of that fucking uh, you know, not to not to be playing up Diddy or anything like that, but um it's that Chappelle show, you know, Chappelle show where he's playing Diddy and they're like doing random shit. He's making fun of the show, right? And they're like doing random shit. Oh, you want to just be doing your taxes? Oh, you you want to be making a sandwich or whatever, and he's like, Don't you think I want to just be chilling? You know what I'm saying? Masturbating all day, eating sandwiches, da-da-da. You know what I'm saying? It's so fucking funny. Like, that's the thing, like you really want to. You wanna you wanna be bullshitting all day, playing video games, hanging out with the kids and the wife, and all that shit, but there's too much shit to do, dude.
Weekend Chores And No Real Rest
SPEAKER_01Yeah. This needs to be fixed, that yard needs to be done. This fucking it's just constant.
SPEAKER_02We just did the backyard to the house because I wasn't expecting to do it Sunday. But you know, according to, and I was like, all right, well, man, next thing you know, I ended up cutting all my bushes out. I had the damn chains all out, and I was like, geez, it was just like I didn't expect to do that, bro. Like, you know, but we was like, these bushes have been dead for a minute. I was like, damn, and it's five big ones. So I was like, dude, like we pulled them all out. You kind of trying to get the backyard ready, I guess, for the summer. So, you know, it was one of those things, but I was like, dude, I just did not expect. I was worn out, man. I was like, I wanted to go to church and just sit at the house, yeah, and I was like, man, maybe I'll hit up a Seuss. And but then uh we started, bro. I didn't get done until like eight o'clock. I was like dusted, but man, it looked bad, bro.
SPEAKER_01I was like, Yeah, I did the same thing in the front because I have evergreens in the front, so those those damn trees, like they always have leaves, yeah. And so like everybody else is like, oh, fall time raking leaves and shit. I have two of those. It happens, those damn trees shed like crazy at the beginning of spring when the new leaves are coming out, yeah. So they drop all the leaves, bro, and it's like endless, endless. So I'm over there, and then also I had to start cutting all the dead branches and all that stuff. So I bought like, and they're all huge trees, yeah. So I bought like a 20-something foot pole, dang, and so that I can cut by hand, man. The next day I couldn't, my hand wouldn't close because I was like cutting with that, and then I have a blower, I have an electric blower, and I have two batteries, so I just let them run, run, run, run, run. Yeah, so it was like blowing, it was probably like four hours of solid blowing. So my hand was just cooked, and I would switch hands back and forth because it's heavy, it has a big ass battery, it's a 60 volt that I'm blowing as much as I can, so I had to do it like in intervals. So I so whenever now, whenever I cut the yard because it's been raining and shit, I'm gonna go cut the yard, then now I have to blow the leaves again, and it'll be like another two, three hours, and then I had to do it again in fall. So where people had to do it once, I do that shit twice a year, and it's a pain in the ass, bro. It's just so much ground to cover. Like when you're buying a house, you're like, Man, I want a big yard, and I'll you know, I want all that for my dog. I wanted the big backyard. Now I regret the hell out of that shit, bro. Like, I love my dog and everything, but damn, bro, it is so much ground to cover. I bet. And just like picking up dog shit, like from front to back in that man, and then and then I don't know from what I don't know if it's a good sign, maybe it's she's got good digestive system, but my dog shits like six times a day. Dang, and she gets fed a very, you know, a very simple fucking diet. We give her a cup of food once in the morning, once in the evening. So she eats twice a day. Yeah, but she's shitting like six times a day. My dad, my dad, who's been like doing that like just for stuff to do, right? My dad will go and chill at the house, clean up dog shit, whatever. Like, he started like questioning himself, bro. He was like, What's up with this fucking dog? Like, he he was like, This dog shits more than I've ever seen any dog shit. And it's crazy, so you have to constantly stay on top of that. So it's just random shit, and then coming and painting in here, just such random shit, but it has to be done. Like, somebody's gotta do it. But what are we gonna do?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, and then it's like I I know that y'all hit that uh, you know, Eric having the surgery.
SPEAKER_01I know that kind of got you too, man. So yeah, it it threw gum in the works, but yeah, getting it done though. We're getting rolling now, and once it's painted, everything else should fall into place pretty easily, and we'll get that shit going and hopefully have an opening. And then in the middle, the middle room, I'm like plotting. I don't know, I don't know if we should if I should get a different TV or bring in my TV, buy a TV for the house, hang the shit up, but I want to make it to where we can, you know, do shit in there, you know, have a table and do that table that I was gonna bring in there snapped it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Well, hey man, I'm telling you, I got a long table, longer than this one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I can easily it might work that, bro, because yeah, I went to go, so it's an old it was an old table, the one that I sent you a picture of, but it was nice.
Building Out The Studio Space
SPEAKER_01And uh, yeah, I mean, we're we're just so everybody's out there knowing, I know we went off kind of on a tangent, but we're fixing up the other rooms in the studio here, so this is just a small piece of this building. And uh Ricky and myself have you know gone in together, our family's really gone in together, and we have the whole building, so we're we're putting stuff together. We wanna, you know, we wanna be business owners and we're gonna try our hand in it. And uh, I mean we've been business owners, but not to a we're we're cranking up the scale, right? Yeah, we're and so for sure.
SPEAKER_02And we're investing like and you know, like I know I was thinking about the other day because like there's a lot of companies where I see and they have like a they'll have a business, but it takes a minute. And I'm thinking that's what I have to remember is like you know, for us it's kind of the same. It's like, yeah, we got it, but we're just like, man, we're just getting it, we're doing it, but we got the space occupied because we had a lady snooping around and she was about to take, and uh we luckily we came in and got it. But you know, it's like uh I keep thinking about that because I'm like, you know, I don't I feel like sometimes I get anxious, like, dude, I just need to go ahead and do this already. Yeah, but then I'm like, you know what, man? There's a lot of companies that take time getting started, like some even take a year. I ain't planning on doing that, but you know, some people take time, though, you know what I'm saying? So I'm like, you know when the time is for right, we're gonna do that. But it's just like, you know, man, we're I'm just like, man, just right now.
SPEAKER_01We gotta get for sure, we gotta get back on this horse, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, it's something that's important to us.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, and I mean that's and we've had uh we had a we had a guy we were gonna get in and we still plan on it, but man, it's just kind of you know, our schedules and and um I'm I know he understands, it's just like dude, like because you know, we were all set and then hey, uh, you gotta go out to damn Oklahoma
Work Travel And Schedule Chaos
SPEAKER_02or something. I'm like, bro, what the hell? You know what I mean? Or San Antonio, and like my whole Easter got messed up, and I'm like, bro, like it's crazy, man. But look like I got to bring my family with me, so that worked out. Like the girls, they hung out, they got to had to Uber everywhere, but I mean, but it was cool though. I mean, I I didn't expect to be on the job that long. I was there for like all day, you know what I'm saying? And I can give them some act till the next morning, but but I mean it was it was better than me leaving them here and me hitting the road piss, you know, because I'm like, yeah, bro. I'm like, dude, I I I do not like driving that far sometimes. It gets old, bro.
SPEAKER_01No, it gets old for sure. Like, there's a reason we're not drivers, you know. There's a reason we're not we didn't choose. There's plenty, you know, if you get your CDL, there's so much work. Like, there's I I've always seen people like, you know, we need a class A, we need a class A, we need just like constantly.
SPEAKER_02Well, you think about Big Joe, Big Joe started his business, and I don't have all the information. My man, my man's a little cautious on it right now. He's like, I don't want you to put it out yet, I'm not ready. And I'm like, because I could, you know, but whenever he's ready, we're gonna throw it out. But I know he's got a hotshot business. Yeah, I don't know. So anyway, yeah, anyways.
SPEAKER_01I mean, Easter, Easter was a good time. I know, I know it got a little fouled up for you, but man, it was busy during Easter too, and then right after shit, today, like it's funny because I was I would this weekend I was planning like, oh, I'm gonna have a free weekend. So Saturday, I'll start working on the backyard. I don't know what I was thinking. Yeah, I was working on something. I know I have to work on my truck too, so and do the finish the painting. So I was thinking about that, and then my
Baptising Family And Being Chosen
SPEAKER_01mom hits me up and she's like, Hey, don't forget you're baptizing this weekend. I'm like, damn. You baptize somebody else? Yeah, so I'm baptizing my sister's daughter. Oh, damn. My mom, so it's a little bit different. Like, she's because she's with my mom so much, she's been going to our church, the Catholic church, right? So uh she's been going there, and then my mom was like, Well, you gotta get some kind of education or whatever, because we need to get you, you know, we need to put you on the path, right? So she put her in C C D so she's going to C C D same as Camila, and uh my mom's like, She's in C C D and they're gonna start prepping for first communion. She just hasn't been baptized. So she got permission from my sister, my sister had to write her uh power of attorney, or I don't know what the shit it was, right? But uh a power of religion. And so she she wrote it up for her that my mom can make those decisions as far as the Catholic Church is involved. Um, and so she was like, Okay, we're gonna baptize her, and she asked me to baptize her, so I'm gonna baptize her, and man, it's it's crazy, bro. How many is that already? Six.
SPEAKER_02Dang, the godfather, bro. Yeah, man. That's cool though. Six, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Six, like, and I have like Shimon's girls. It's funny because Shimon, like, it's not it's not a religious thing, but it's like a friend thing, you know what I mean? It's it's normal for somebody like yo, if I trust you, like we we we trust y'all with our kids, kind of a deal like that, but um that's with their kids too. Uh we we think we think about them in the same sense as all my godkids, right? But yeah, it's uh yeah, and then Erica, it's funny because Erica, she had her two godkids from Raquel's family, so the closest thing to a sister to her, and so they're like her niece and nephew, and so she had them unmarried, she did it by herself. Um, so I take that seriously also after I got married. So I consider myself their godparent. They might not feel that way because they didn't really, I mean, they grew up with knowing me, but not from babies. They were already, yeah, I don't know what age they were or whatever, but you know, I I think of them the same way. So if I was really counting, it'd be more like nine. But I'm like, I'm like, you know, I'm I'm gonna chill, you know what I'm saying? Uh only the ones that are official in there, but it's I treat them all that way, and I think of them, I love them all the same way, or whatever, right? But yeah, that's is it's crazy, man. But my dad always said, like, being a godfather, being ket queen, apadrinar, man, it's uh it's a blessing, and you sh there's it just shows it shows how what people think about you, you know what I'm saying? So he's like, I mean, he's like me personally, I don't say no. My parents have had quite a bit of of godkids in their lifetime too. Yeah. And so he's like, I I don't say no, because I would always be like, hey, uh so-and-so's asking me, like, should I like whatever? I you always there's a weight to it, you know what I'm saying? There's a weight to it because whenever you speak to them, whenever you whenever you're around them or whatever, you gotta try to be a beacon for God, you know what I'm saying? You gotta try to lead them that way, you know what I mean? And and it's tough, but I take it seriously, and I try to be there from like at the very minimum on the days that they need, you know, someone to cheer them on or whatever at the very minimum. But you know, they're all in different stages of life. Yeah, it's crazy. All my god kids are in different stages of life, and so I get different, you know. I got one in locked up that I have to, you know, I still communicate with him and I still try to lead them the right way. Um, he's made mistakes, so hopefully he can clear that up. Um you know, and Aiden's already big, man. He's he's driving and shit. Like he got his license. Shout out to Aiden, you know, and uh yeah, so and all the rest of them are you know youngsters, but it's crazy, man. It's it's crazy. So I got another one coming up at this point. It's automatic. I'm automatic, you know what I mean? So, and and she does, you know, I feel like she does need um not that my mom's not gonna help her, my mom's gonna be there, but you know, my mom's getting older, and it's things get tougher as they get older, so yeah, we're gonna be there to back her up. And Erica, to Erica's credit, she was like, Yeah, we'll do it. Erica's always lockstep with me, you know what I'm saying? So it has to be that way.
SPEAKER_02That's good though. I mean, and uh, you know, I think about I think about that a lot because I know I had a godfather and god and mother, but man, they didn't I didn't really see them, bro. Like I didn't even talk to them. Like, honestly, I don't think they even said the word Jesus to me once, you know what I'm saying? Like, and that and that and that's whenever you're like, but whenever like I think like sometimes people get it miscon like they want to just oh we'll just ask them, you know, that's it, and they'll they'll do it. We just need we just need them to stamp it. So we got we got this part checked off. But it's it's always a blessing when you have a god parent that really cares and cares about the the relationship. You know what I'm saying? Like because that's where it makes a difference.
SPEAKER_01And the and stuff, you know, sometimes stuff is it's tough. It's tough because godparents are not are not the parents, right? The parents are the number one, you know, the number one people that need to be in that child's life to help that child grow um in the religion, right? Not in the religion, but with God, right, in their lives. And that guidance has to be first through the parents, but the parents can't always do everything, they need help. It's like it's like they say it takes a tribe, you know what I mean? And the more people that you have in your life that are like-minded and they want to do well, like they have, you know, they have good in their hearts, they want to do well, you want those people around your kids, right? And so that's that's the way that I feel. Like when people tell me that I know what they want, you know. I know what they want, and I wanna be, I wanna be that for them. Of course, we're not perfect, stuff happens. I have my family, my kids, and everything goes crazy, but I think if you really see that somebody cares, you're you're gonna see it, right? It's tough. Yeah, it's tough, man. It's it's one of those things where everybody has an opinion of how it should be. It's everybody, no, you know, I'm I'm I'm just a godfather, I should just do this, or I should just be involved in this, or whenever it's time for the next sacrament, or whatever, you know what I mean? Yeah, um, and some people do that, but for me, I had the same thing as you it's an honor to be a godparent, especially like in terms of you know, in Mexico, and so like when my mom was pregnant with me, my mom told me like right away people were trying to people right away, hey, I'll be the godparents, you know, we'll be the godparents, and so that's what kind of happened, and it was kind of like a come first come, first serve, and I was baptized in Bayes Aparral. It's in it's in the the hill country in in Mexico, right? It's in Chihuahua. Um, but it's a small little little bitty town, like it's still like the wild west up there, bro. Like there's no law, there's like motherfuckers over there like are still operating like rancher style. You still my horse you get shot. It's it's old school, bro, and it's it's a small town, really small town up in in in the mountains, right? Uh in Mexico, in Chihuahua la sierra. And uh it's funny when I started baptizing here, I had to get my certificate brought from Mexico. Like they had it filed, and they and they had to ship it to us uh so that I can have my original baptism certificate because it was up there. Oh, yeah. And so I never saw them. I never, I had the same experience you did, but then when I was here, I got another set. Yeah, and and people be like, What do you mean, another set? Well, because my godparents were in Mexico and I got my first communion here, I needed sponsors. And they typically call them sponsors, like whenever you go into your first communion, oh, we're your sponsors, da-da-da. But for other padrinos, it means the exact same thing because if you see quince in eras, they're like, you know, some will say sponsors, some will say padrinos. It means the exact same shit, right? Um, and so that's what it is. And my padrino, God rest his soul, and my madrina that were here, they're they became the the that steadfast, you know, yeah, uh uh group, part of that steadfast group of people that I really relied on, you know what I'm saying? And they were they they struggled, they they had uh uh my cousin, my cousin Rocio, later on in their marriage, later on in life, God answered their prayer, you know, but a lot of their a lot of the time their young years, um they didn't have a child. Yeah. So they were like the go-to, and they man, they you know, my madrina, my padrino, like they're the best, they're the best. I'm sure my primo alfonso is gonna be on this. And he knows exactly what I'm talking about, you know what I mean? It'll give him a little bit of nostalgia.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh, but yeah, it's it's it's cool, and I I'll do it as many times as I feel I can do it, and still be, you know, a properly functioning godparent. You know what I'm saying? It's uh it's yeah, it's one of those things, right? One of those things, it's a it's a fine line, but I still I feel like I still got you know some years left in me.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, well, and I think also, man, the wiser you get older, you get wiser. Yeah. I know you probably uh you probably uh have a different view now than when you did the very first one, right? Absolutely. Like it's crazy, man. You know, like uh that's I mean, I've always thought of it as an honor to myself too. Like, you know, I forgot about Badarinos for your first community because I remember Uncle Mike was.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And uh that was cool, man.
Church Requirements And Paperwork Reality
SPEAKER_02You know what I mean? Like uh I remember all that in Aiden, you know. I was hard for us to, you know, that's one thing when you said you had to get your your uh like certificate shipped over here. Yeah, that's because they they don't the church don't play, bro. No, like I remember we had to find mine when I got married to the church, like there it was, I was like, man, we didn't even know where to look at, bro. Like it was we had to actually go through like paperwork at from like Lubbock, like it was crazy, and then you know, even with my wife and my kids, and it's like it was just like a lot of it's a lot of paperwork, people don't really know.
SPEAKER_01Man, the diocese takes it really seriously, and they're like, It's crazy because I'm I'm back to back on this one, and they were still like, hey, we're gonna people are like, bro, I we just filed it. Yeah, I just filed it, right? Like, I I I don't know what you're talking about. I already had to gather everything up and everything uh when I baptized Juju, yeah, and we did it at St. Stephen's. I had to gather everything up, get a permission slip to baptize there. Oh, yeah. Because he, if I'm outside of my church, you need a permission slip. That church saying, No, he's good, he can do it, and he did the classes and all that. So that's the whole deal, bro.
SPEAKER_02You know what's hard too? It's like we had a hard time getting the kids baptized because you know, at least um the first time, you know, at uh it was it was hard because we couldn't find anybody that literally went through everything in the church. Like, that's the hardest part. It's finding somebody that stuck through everything because and and and they got to be married to the church. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's the hard part, bro. Like I remember when and we had to get actually my uh you know, my wife's cousins, they're not even they weren't even Catholics no more. But they yeah, but they had got married Catholic, so they're the only ones that could do it, bro. We're just like, bro, we just need somebody that can uh can handle this for us, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01But and that's tough because sometimes in in in all that political stuff, like trying to get it all that right, you lose out on some godparents that are really do well for you. Yeah, you know what I mean, that will are really there for you and they're ready, they're ready to back you up and will help you, you know, going through the first communion and the confirmation and just being a pillar there, you know what I'm saying, for for that side of things. Yeah. And so that's tough. That's tough. I do feel like the church has eased since since the first time I baptized to now, they have eased restrictions a bit, uh, a bit on whether or not it has to be a couple, whether or not it can be uh uh uh single male or single female now. Like uh they they do want to make sure that they're Catholic, they're part of a church and all that. Um, but I they've they've loosened the restrictions on all of that, you know, being married, having everything. And sometimes they will do a uh what I call a um what do I want to call it? A speedy a speedy uh confirmation or something of that nature, right? You still have to go through what they're asking you and kind of you know, you run through the testing so that they know that you're practicing of the faith. And so you go through the confirmation. I I've I've heard of people having to do that all three baptism, communion, and confirmation all together. Go to all the classes and do it all together when they're becoming Catholic, right? So I've heard of all that, and yeah, I mean I think I think they have a good reason to do that to make sure that that they're trying to make sure that they're practicing Catholics, right? Yeah, but in some of these cases, I do agree that in some of these cases you're you might be losing out on somebody who you really want to be that that person for your child, you know what I mean? So it's uh it it's one of those things, man. It's it is beautiful, like it's a beautiful thing to do it, and it's a big moment in a kid's life and everything.
SPEAKER_02So and you know
Why Baptism And Sacraments Matter
SPEAKER_02when you when you read it biblically, it's even even more like it's like because like for us, it's like uh yeah, you're getting baptized and and it's it's a great thing, but when you actually like read what happened, like an axe, it's like it's crazy because that's like you know, like one thing that really sunk on me was 2019 and how they were black, because he says, I died to myself, and then we was reborn. You died yourself and you're reborn as a Christian, right? And it's like, and then when you when you read those, you're like, man, like I don't know, it's like it means uh so much more that than I knew before. Like it's crazy. Like, you know what I mean? When you read the scriptures, you're like, dude, like, you know, I literally have to die to myself and have to be reborn in Christ. And then you think and you read about how Jesus was and then how the the dove came and it was the Holy Spirit, and you're like, man, that's like because some people there's like there's there's some cases where some people say they get baptized and they come up, and everything, all everything that's held them down, all their sins, all those chains are broken. But then there's some people where yeah, it's a it's a it's like it's almost like a statement because you have to say it out loud with your mouth, right? Yeah, and then you're like, Well, I said out loud and I I I I proclaim it that I'm a father of Christ, so I'm gonna follow like Christ, follow him. So it's like it's it's it's pretty wild, man. Like, you know, like there's some there's a lot of symbolism in it, and uh, I think sometimes, man, that's that's one thing for sure that I think a lot of people have to understand or to even read into it, because you know, even as me, I was a child, I was I was baptized as a child, but when now when I read, I think about it like, man, you know, there's there's a lot to it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, sometimes it just becomes a chore. It does becomes instead of yeah, instead of something that is, you know, it's a big day. I remember I remember like my first communion, my confirmation, like they were big days, bro. Yeah, it was crazy, man. Especially my confirmation. Like I said, I had a I had a a really crazy, not crazy, I'm not gonna say a really beautiful experience when I had my confirmation, right? And there they the way that it was set up and doing a kind of it was a retreat, what they called and all that, it it lends it lends itself for you to just be honest with yourself, honest with God, and have your own conversations and peace and quiet with like-minded people. It just puts you in a place where it's it's easy for you to feel the Holy Spirit. Oh, yeah like it in so many other environments it's so difficult to let yourself feel the Holy Spirit because it's not it's not conducive to it, you know what I mean? And so I remember that and there were such big days. Like I remember my mom, oh, we gotta, you know, we have to make sure your your your clothes are right, they're iron, you're wearing the right things, and like, and those things I think those things are beautiful, man. Yeah, buying a dress, like I just I I bought the dress for serenity, I gotta make sure even in the dress, she understands what kind of a moment it is, you know what I mean? Uh nice, big, beautiful dress, modest dress, and she it's it's everything that goes into the day, uh, you'd like to be perfect because you want them to uh you want them to only associate happy moments.
SPEAKER_02Well, and it and it's supposed to be a celebration, right? Yes, it's a celebration. And you know what I was reading because I I thought about this because I I was reading the other day, I was reading Acts, and there's it's a wild story. It's Philip, and it uh he's told God told him to go meet uh to meet a man on the road on the way to Ethiopia. Well, it's like and it's crazy because he meets him and then he made and then he tells a man the man's trying to read uh like a Torah and he can't, he doesn't understand it. Yeah, so he tries to translate to him, and then he's like, they can see another guy's like, Well, can you baptize me now? He's like, Yeah. So they get out of the carriage, they go straight to the water, and he baptizes them right there, yeah, and then instantly he's moved somewhere else. So God moves him to another town. But it was like it's crazy because I was reading and I was like, Man, I you know, uh, it didn't sink in that the man literally was transported, like it says it, like he was there and he was not there, and he was moved, and but but literally, like the guy was like, Can I be baptized right now? He's like, Yes, we can he took him down, he said, Do you proclaim Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? And he said yes, and he baptized him, boom, like that. It's pretty wild when you see that, man. You know, even John the Baptist, which is wild too, is that uh, you know, he he baptized when he baptized Jesus, like he knew what it was when he came. Like, it's I don't know, it's crazy, bro. Like, there's just so much to it, and you're like, man, very momentous, bro.
SPEAKER_01And and people should take it that way because it is yeah, it is momentous, but it I feel like for the kids, it's up to us. It's up to us, the godparents and the parents, to make it that way.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and and I think also to let them know like the significance, right?
SPEAKER_01Like it's a big, big deal.
SPEAKER_02I think sometimes it gets uh so much wound up on a party, and you're like, look, man, this is more than that. Like you have to understand, like you know what I'm saying? That is the celebration, yeah.
SPEAKER_01That is what we're celebrating, that is when we're celebrating, you know what I mean? Yeah, um, yeah, man, it's it's yeah. I know I know we went off on this tangent, but it's just something I guess just talking about Easter and and all you know, everything and what was what's coming up for me and everything, but it's it's fun, it's fun to talk about, right? No, it is, and there's a lot of there's a lot to it.
SPEAKER_02For sure, like it's crazy because you like you you don't realize it, but like it's just like there's all these things around, you know. Um uh it's it's just it's just wild to I don't know, like I think of that stuff so much different now. You know what I'm saying? It's pretty crazy though, you know. Yeah, yeah, I can see that, man. Yeah, and it's good, it's good, it's good. Yeah, man. Acts is crazy, like you know what's crazy because I'll read through it, and then like and next thing you know, I'm like, I don't remember that point. I'll start reading again. I'm like, but it's just crazy because you're like, man, I don't know, I it's so wild that you can. But now you get these things up, like this brings up and you remember, and like, and I literally read this like two nights ago, and it's like but it like it hits different for some reason,
Praying For People Without Fear
SPEAKER_02you know. But um, you know, I was at uh say it's my buddy, my buddy Ben, man. Uh I ran into him uh last week, I think. Yeah, but uh you know, I just want to give him a shout out, man. He's a good guy. I I got to see him for a little bit, uh we hung out or whatever, and uh man, I you know, uh it was I got to talk to him, I prayed on him. It was it was awesome, man. He's a great guy, and uh, just want to say, you know, Ben, I've been praying for you, but man, I hope everything's going good. You know, uh he listens to us a lot, man. You know what I'm saying? Shout out, man. Shout out to him, baby. You know what I mean? But uh, but no, it was great to see him, man, and talk to him. But you know, that's one thing I've been seeing a lot lately, is like I was telling Cody, man, it's like crazy because I just feel like God works, man, and crazy. Like, I used to be so scared of praying on people, now I'm not. Like it was hard for me at first. I still is. Like, I get to a point where I'm like, man, I don't want to. Like, I don't know, like you know, but it depends on the uh on the people, you know.
SPEAKER_01I imagine the person kind of it's it it it may one person might make you feel really comfortable, the next person might be a little bit more different.
SPEAKER_02And then also I think it's like me myself, I get like a little shy, I get a little embarrassed. Oh yeah, does some oh that's uh you know that's the enemy speaking to you, really. But it's like you know, like even in acts it talks about putting hands on people, and you're like, like my cousin, uh my cousin Andy was telling me about it. He's like, Man, I went to church and they put hands on me and they prayed, and he's like, I broke down. I was like, right, it's it I think people kind of don't realize when they put hands on you, you pray, it really breaks a lot of chains off you. And it and it and you feel something because when it says two or three more pray, the pr you know, God's there, Jesus is there. And it's like it's crazy. When you people put hands on you, it's like, man, it just I don't know, it's more emotional, more more physical. And but yeah, man, um it's it's just uh I don't know, it's just crazy, man. You know, seeing stuff like that this year. But you know, I just try to stay in the word and do stuff like that. But I mean, I think that's awesome that you're doing um baptisms and stuff, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, it's it's it's just at this point, like it's you're happy. I'm happy, I'm happy to do it, I'll do it. But again, that's what we're getting into, it's just another thing to do and another thing that I take very seriously. So it's like it's not something that we can just you know what let's move it, or you know what I mean? So I'll take it real seriously. So just a little, you know, uh another, not little, but another, you know, momentous thing that I have to do. Yeah, yeah. And it it's you know, other stuff falls by the wayside, the yard or the or you know, the podcast, but you know.
SPEAKER_02But that's good that your mom wanted to do that because it, you know, sometimes that's you know, like whenever I was a kid, my aunt would uh she would pick us up a lot from my grandma's house. It's and it's on the other side of town from Lubbock, yeah, yeah. And she would take us to C C D class, but it went to Rome um to uh Romans, I think it was off uh it's off in Woodrow, so it's like on the other side of town, bro. Like she would pick us up every Wednesday to take us, and you know, she wanted us to get our first communion in. Like that was her goal. And she got, I mean, we did it, bro. You know what I mean? Like, and we had a party at Buffalo Lake and stuff like that, you know.
SPEAKER_01But but it's awesome, man. But you remember it, but things like that.
SPEAKER_02Yes, you remember, you're like, dang, you know, like you really care that much to pick me up, which is that's awesome because anybody knows what it's like in our lives, so I could get we get so caught up and we we kind of like I don't know if I have time for all that, you know what I'm saying? Like, you know, and I you know, one thing I did when I was Catholic, I remember always I was I always really wanted, I always wanted to be a godfather. Like, you know, it didn't work out that way, but I always wanted to be a godfather when I was when I was uh you know full-blown Catholic. And but I know but I understand the importance of it, um, you know, and the symbols because I mean like you, you know, people ask you, they trust you. That's really what it comes down to. They trust you enough to do that because you can't, you know, they can't give that to somebody.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's an honor and it's a it's also uh you know uh a weight on you, and you gotta be strong enough to take it on. You know what I'm saying? And and a lot of people, a lot of people say yes without realizing how how much of a responsibility it is, right?
SPEAKER_02So you know one thing I always uh loved about uh first communion was like after you got done, I got to put them hands together to get that break. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01To stand in line with my hands behind my back no more, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, and that that too like is a momentous time in your life. You're like, man, I finally get to take communion and what's the wine gonna taste like and everything. It's so it's so crazy, but it is it's joyful. I don't ever think back to that at all and be like, yeah, it was just like whatever. I remember it was a joyful day. Yeah, it was a joyful day, and all of the any sacraments that I did were joyful, and that's what's beautiful about that. Like my wedding, I couldn't have I I couldn't have been happier than to have a church wedding, and you know, like it was it was perfect. I was really happy with the wedding. Like, and that's and that's what I'm saying. Like, it's it's all the occasions that we're talking about, like they're joyous occasions. So you know, you want everyone to have one.
SPEAKER_02You know what's wild too is that whenever um you know Jesus did the first communion, well he did the communion, right? He said, you know, drink my blood and drink my flesh. People the his his like people were like all the apostles were like confused, like, what is this? Like, yeah, you know what I mean? Like, is this like we once we eat this flesh? You know, like but when they found because he spoke his parables, so it's like once they really got it, they understood what he meant. But you know what's wild is that when he did that, he he knew Joseph was uh not Joseph, Judas was already gonna betray him, bro. Like he was already gonna get crucified that night, or that he was gonna get jailed, right? But it was just like it's wild to think that that all happened right before he knew he was about to be, you know, per uh persecuted or you know, kid m killed or whatever. But it was or not, yeah, I guess you can say, but then raised again, you know, on a third day. But it's pretty wild to think that, you know what I mean? Like you're like, dang, bro, like I don't know, like I've just sometimes I get caught up in it, you know. Yeah, I know it's crazy, man. But yeah, and I I remember the first comedian. Whenever I put my hands, I was like, that was one thing I always remember.
SPEAKER_01And you got to wear the shirt and yeah, of course, man. You got all you you got all that done, and it was a it's a wonderful day, man. Yeah, you're dressed up, everybody's there for you. It's it's great, man. I uh for me, like those days stick out in my memory.
SPEAKER_02We still have eight ants photo when he did his, like it's right there, yeah. It's just something about it, you know what I mean? Like, of course, but uh, you know, I I get it, man. You know, but yeah, that's crazy, man. Good for you. Good for the when they're doing that this weekend. Yeah, on Saturday. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Saturday we'll get into that.
SPEAKER_02Good thing we're not getting together Saturday, because yeah, it wouldn't happen, huh?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it it definitely wouldn't happen, but you know, we try for you guys.
SPEAKER_02We try for you guys, and I know, and that's like um, you know, it like we said, man, it's just we went for a good stretch and we're still gonna continue, but it's just like, you know, sometimes we get caught up in my man's uh he got lucky today because he usually coaches uh soccer, you know.
SPEAKER_01I'm usually working and yeah, you gotta y'all gotta bear with us, man. Yeah, bear with us, but man, we appreciate everybody who listens to us for sure.
SPEAKER_02No, you know, and you know what's crazy is that uh that reel you did uh we did recently with the all right guys, check out underdog wireline services, man. It's a permeant company, it's a local company. Man, I've worked to these guys personally, really good. They know how to get it done, man. So if you need any type of wireline work that comes down to completion, production, pipe recovery, they do horizontal, vertical perforating, they do uh free points, chemical cuts, um, they even do uh temperature logs, man. So give these guys a call at 432-301-4976.
SPEAKER_01Sales and Services uh is one of our new sponsors, and we wanted to shout them out. Um they're working out of Crane, Texas. If you want to get in touch with them, it's gonna be 432-307-1960. Uh some of the stuff that they offer is uh uh rust about maintenance and construction crews, uh trash trailers, porta potties, combo trailers, uh forklifts, and they're adding more rentals as they speak. So as I speak, so any anything that you want and need, give them a call. You never know, they probably have it, and I know they have competitive pricing, appreciate it.
SPEAKER_02Not only is it with that story, Courtney actually listened to all that. She was telling me too she loved that book. And oh yeah, she said, yeah, and it's amazing. Yeah, man. And I remember driving, I was like, I was listening to her because I was walking by, and so she just got the audio, the guy does like a robot voice. Oh, he's amazing, bro. Yeah, she was like, I was like, no, that's what it's amazing, bro. Yeah, but anyway, like that was cool, and then um, but you know, like um uh I was gonna say, uh man, I forgot. Damn, I don't know why. But anyways, yeah, she she listened to the audio and they watched the movie actually that weekend. Oh, they watched it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, man. So it was it was pretty cool. It's tough, man. It's tough watching, but a lot of people are like, I'm telling a lot of people, like, look, I would just watch the movie first and then listen to the book and let it catch you up. And and we're talking about Project Hell Mary, by the way. For anybody who didn't watch the last episode, you know, go watch it. Yeah, go on a uh, I'll go on a whole rant, right? But yeah, I'll be I've been telling people that, like, man, that that that audiobook is so good, man. Some audiobooks, you know, they put you to sleep, like it's very monotone and very but this audiobook, especially if you like science and science fiction, right? Like, man, you it's amazing. It's amazing, it's really good, right?
SPEAKER_02I tried to make a good AI image of you, yeah. But it didn't look like you, and I was like, oh, I ain't gonna pass, man. I was like, damn, but but yeah, you know, I didn't even know Ryan Gosson was in it or until I saw it and I was like, Yeah, man. I was like, damn, this guy was in the movie.
SPEAKER_01He he did good. I think I think he did good in you know uh portraying that character. I think I think he did he in the in the moments where you kind of cross the book and the movie, yeah, he did good. Like I feel like in momentous, which they did put most of the momentous like uh events in there. There's some missing, but they put most of them in those moments. He he was good. He acted the way he was supposed to act.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was wild. I was like, I was like, dang, you know, and then uh I don't know, it was just uh I thought it was crazy because they watched that week and then I made that real and yeah, you know, you got people kind of coming in on it. You know, people went crazy on the the Millen like guy manager, dude. Like people were looking at that one pretty good on TikTok, talking about it and stuff, and I was like, dang, you know, like Yeah, I mean, and there's still stuff going on with that. Honestly, it hit just right. Like, I didn't when we talked about that, we did not expect for that the for that weekend for the whole thing to happen with the hotel and all this. Yeah, man, you know, I thought it was so funny because I saw Nino on there and he was uh like he's pretty much trolling them, right? But he was like, look, he started saying uh big bottle with them boots, uh big one beat shot collar. And I was like, this guy's so funny, bro. I was like, Oh, yeah, you saw that? Yeah, and he was like, Look at them boots, man. I was like, Yeah, he's trolling them.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it I I at this point, like you see their faces when Nino comes up and it's just like here we go again, you know. But Nino's getting to him, you know what I'm saying? Shout out to him again doing this thing. There's so much, there's so much stuff going on,
Trump Iran Israel And Christian Boundaries
SPEAKER_01bro. And it really is. I do gotta like I do have to say, like, it's it's been a wild ride with this presidency and everything going on. Like, if it if anybody gives two shits about winning the midterms, they need to take the phone away from Donald Trump. Yeah, yeah, I know. I I 100% believe that he is fouling up something awful, bro. I get being angry, yeah, and like trying to do something. He almost wanted like the same result, like in and out, bang bang, like he did with Venezuela. And it's just of course that's not gonna happen with Iran, like it's just not gonna happen that way, right? And I think because it's taken him so long to fold him, yeah, you know what I'm saying? He just gets really aggressive and really crazy, and of course, the blasphemous tweet that just so everybody knows, like I 100% disagree with that shit. Oh, yeah, yeah. That blasphemous tweet of him uh uh uh uh uh portraying himself as Jesus Christ, yeah. And he could say all day, like, oh, I thought it was a doctor that he fucked up.
SPEAKER_02It's actually and a lot, and it's actually kind of from the same portrait that a lot of Latter-day Saints use, love of Jesus, so at least that way. So it's like, you know, I I even I knew it was. I was like, you can't say you're a doctor, bro. I can't do that, bro. And honestly, like that's uh, you know, and I don't know, man. Like, like as I tell people this all the time, like, yeah, you know, I yeah, I voted for Trump, and I voted for him not just because of him, but for every like just because the other side is crazy. Like, that's it. Like, that's all I did. But it doesn't mean I agree with everything, and that I don't like, I don't like that stuff.
SPEAKER_01And I can't and I can't stress this enough. The right going so far right to counteract the left going so radically left is bad for us. Yeah, it's bad for us. Like, we shouldn't have to be radically right to straighten the ship. Like, it shouldn't have to be that way. And and doing something like what he did to, I don't know what he was trying to prove is that uh I'm so powerful as God. I don't know what he was trying to prove.
SPEAKER_02And and it doesn't help because I'll tell you this much like if you read Revelations, he looks like the Antichrist. 100% that's uh that's the man that brings peace and and uh who think he's a uh a prophet in a way, you know what I'm saying? Like it's just like you you see and you're like, bro, like what are you doing, bro? You know, we got these we got the word that is in Revelation, so it's like and then it says people will be deceived. And one thing about me is like I'm not gonna be deceived on that, like at all. Like it's like, hey, bro, what's right is right, and what is wrong is wrong. That was wrong, brother. Yeah, you don't do that. No, and I'm 100% with that, bro. It's like like I think uh I think sometimes people want to like try to oh I don't no bro, I'm gonna be honest with you, I didn't like it. Like and I saw it.
SPEAKER_01And like it's crazy because like we're trying to be it, it always says like treat others the way you want to be treated. That's something that's something very, you know, that should be very easy for people to do, but we are missing it so much in our society, it's crazy. And like he's going around like in his tweets and his tweets talking about praise Allah and I'm gonna blow you to smithereens and all this crazy shit that he's saying, brother. Yeah, like you do not talk like that, bro. Because what all you're gonna do is bring that hate down on Christians, man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and then and they're already, I mean, at the end of the day, they're already hate us, but it's also but it's also like gas, bro. Yeah, and I get that. And it's like, man, it's just I I was like, I saw it too, and I was at first I thought it was a joke, but I was like, this guy's for real on that. So did I, bro. And uh, you know, people, and I will tell you this much, people want to get mad at him on that, and I get that, because I didn't agree with that either. But at the same time, you know, that nobody, you know, didn't Joe Biden the year before say it was transgender day on Easter? So it's like, but either way, I'm just saying like either way, that it's all wrong, and I think what he did was wrong. And I know he's going after the Pope over this, right? And I and I understand that because the Pope, yeah, he says a lot of things. I'm like, bro, like, and you know, I didn't get though, I didn't get him put in a prayer room in the mosque at the at the Vatican. I don't understand that, bro. Like, I'm like, first of all, the m the the at the the people at the mosque and wherever they do it in the Jerusalem, like they don't have nothing for Christians, they're killing Christians daily. Yeah, and you go see the dirt larger I I don't I don't know that's just me. I don't get it.
SPEAKER_01I mean it's it's I understand where they're coming from where it is it's peace first, but that's not I get I I get where they're coming from and and treat everybody with respect and peace first, not war and all this stuff, but the other side isn't plain fair. Yeah, that's where I that's what I'm talking about. The other side isn't playing fair, like if you if you um continue to you know attack Christians or and Catholics, they're all the same, all are like I'm just gonna blanket it as Christians, man. You keep attacking Christians, man. Like the stuff going on in Nigeria is crazy. Yeah, and and the stuff going on all over the world, honestly, to Christians is crazy, man.
SPEAKER_02And well yeah, they're they're being persecuted. I mean, you think was it Ecuador? Well you can't even bring a Bible in no more? Like that's literally contraband. And's wild about it too. It's like Canada too.
SPEAKER_00Like you can't even say slippery slope.
SPEAKER_02You can't say scripture that will offend anybody. Like at the end of the day, truth is truth. And it's like so there's like pieces like that, man. You're like, bro, like, you know, Tucker Carlson wrote me wrong the other day too, because Tucker Carlson said, uh, you know, Muslims love uh Jesus too. Okay, they do, but there's there's a couple main things that they don't believe, and that's that Jesus died for our sins, and that also, you know, he is a son of of God himself, you know what I'm saying? So it's like it's like, bro, like, you know, like I get it, there's peace, but at the end of the day, you can't conform to other religions. At the end of the day, if you're a true Christian, you believe in Christianity.
SPEAKER_01You know, yeah, Tucker at this point is contradicting himself. Yeah, I didn't get it. He's contradicting himself, and he's doing it, he's doing it uh in in spite of of Donald Trump, and and it might be why Donald Trump is going so ape, yeah, ape shit. Like he's he's just they need to take his fucking phone away and like go play around the golf, bro, or whatever you need to do to cool that shit off, whatever. Like it's everything coming from a strategic point, you can't be that way. Yeah, and we're in the middle of a war, yeah, and everything should be strategic, everything should be, you know, uh calculated, yeah, and you're coming from a place of hate. Yeah, it's very difficult to do that, man.
SPEAKER_02And and I I just don't, you know, I don't get the whole um I don't like you know, war. That was our how's our main thing last year. Last time was like Yeah, we don't want war. And then now it's like, you know, bro, like it's like, hey man, like I understand.
SPEAKER_01Let's let's let's get that straight though. Yeah, we don't want war, but I understand. Yeah, I understand the moves that are being made. I don't understand like the stuff that he's saying now or this or he hasn't acted on any of it like that I've seen. He's he's doing normal stuff that you do during war. I hate to say normal because it's it's implying that it's not terrible. War is terrible. But we're speaking in the terms of we're in the middle of war and we have to see it through. There's no stopping, there's no like what are you gonna do, stop, and then just let the terrorism just roll? Nah, you can't, bro.
SPEAKER_02There's a wild thing about Zionism and Christianity, and like they I was like, man, I watched a thing on it recently with that lady, and she's like a full bone class Catholic, but she got kicked off of a freedom religion thing because like she doesn't agree with the war, period. But like there's people that are uh that believe in like Israel is like uh biblically like uh the st becoming a state being like something like almost like a prophecy. Yeah, like it's just a wild thing, bro. Like I was watching this thing, I was like, kind of blew me away, bro. I was like, damn, like I never even heard I've heard of Zionists and all that stuff, but I never understood it. But it makes it kind of makes sense when you think about how much we're doing for Israel. Like, don't get me wrong, I think at the end of the day, I think uh I think Israel should control Israel. Like, I don't think it should be any other Yeah, because we should be hands-off. And I don't think, yeah, because I feel like if anybody else took over, it wouldn't be as fair for Christians. Not even that, not that it's very fair now, but I think it'd be less fair.
SPEAKER_01It's not at all.
SPEAKER_02It's not because they they do take out churches, they uh you know they they didn't even let the what is it the the deacon or something? Like the first time in a hundred years he couldn't even go to where uh the tomb of Jesus didn't. Oh man, I I I didn't I didn't see it. So on Easter day, it was like the first time like a hundred years or something that uh the deacon of the church couldn't go. Like they cut him off. And it's like, first of all, like I get you're in a war, but at the same time, it's like this is this man's this is what we do, this is what he does. You know what I'm saying? Like, and you're gonna cut it off, like because you feel yeah, and it's like and then uh you know, and then and then he even said some things about like how Jesus couldn't stop gangest con and all that. And I'm like, bro, I just you know, like that's one thing, you know. Man, I I don't get wrong, I get mad at the left too, bro, but there's some things on the right, like Ted Cruz saying that saying Jesus King is uh uh like anti-Semitic. I'm like, bro, come on, bro. Like, you know, who had agree or some of the Bishop Hero or what?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, some of the stuff that's coming out, bro, is it's so crazy, man. You see the shift. Yeah, you see the shift in some of these media personalities and and others that it happened right when Trump was elected, which you it it begs to the question, like who's really pulling the strings, what's going on, right? So I'm going, I've been going really hands off of you know the the national government. Like I've been going so hands off of it, and the truth of the matter is, guys, like yeah, we voted for Trump. I don't agree with a lot of the shit that he's doing right now. I don't agree with the war, I know that it has to happen. Um and right now our biggest ally is Israel, which is questionable at best. I don't know about our our our foreign um affairs as much as I do about you know our homeland affairs, yeah. So for sure it's difficult, it's difficult to know every moving part, and it's not to say that I don't like anything else he did.
SPEAKER_02Like I like everything else he did, like yeah because he stuck to what he said he's gonna do. I appreciate it. But this it's the the things on the side that I'm like, bro, like come on, man. Like you're making you're making it hard, bro. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Like you're making it very hard to defend him, right? And I'm not going to defend him with the last the last things that he did are disgusting, and I'm not gonna defend it, right? But in the same sense, like hopefully the people that are listening, and if you're you know left or whatever, hold your people in the same account.
SPEAKER_02Exactly, bro. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01I hold them, I hold him uh to account for the dumb shit that he's done and the dumb decisions that he's he's made, right? Yeah, and it's some of the stuff that he's doing and saying is dumb.
SPEAKER_02So in other words, if you ask me right now, who would I change my vote? No, I wouldn't. I still would for Trump, absolutely. And that's how it goes. And I think that's what people like you said, some people don't hold their own side. Like, people on the other side are ready to go. Like, I see a guy around here always, and I'm like, bro, like you don't even call out your own party that would, you know, put your kid on hormones and testosterone blockers, bro. Like, I that's that's the side I don't like. That's the open board. Like, it's just like I can't stand that, bro. Like, hey man, like we're we're over here mad enough to say, hey, I don't agree with what he did. I don't like what he did. I don't agree with it, but at the same time, I'm not gonna tell you lie to you and say, Oh no, I would never vote. No, I still would because at the end of the day, it was crazy, bro.
SPEAKER_01Like, we that was too crazy before the lesser of two evils for us, right? Like, and we talked about this even before the election. Yeah, we talked about like we're voting for the lesser of two evils, we're voting for the side that is still there's some common sense tied to it, you know what I mean? Yeah, if people would get back to having some some you know moderate party, yeah, you know, like man, we would it would go a long way, man. Some stuff is very simple. This is bad, this is good. Yeah, it's that simple. You have the common sense to deal with it, right? Um, you know, so for sure, man. I'm I'm gonna continue. Like, if he does something that I don't agree with, like for instance, me back to you know fucking deciding making life decisions at the pump, I'm pissed off about. I'm not gonna lie. Everybody should be pissed off about, and it's it's it's clearly is directly affected by the war that a lot of people believe shouldn't have happened. Um I'm a person that I don't agree with the war honestly. I agree with we're not done working on the United States of America right now. Like we have a lot, uh, a long way to go, but I'm sure there was a reason, and there is a good reason, and definitely we don't want another Afghanistan, right? You're not gonna you're not gonna pull out of that without the problem being solved, yeah. And I know that he's not gonna do it, so we'll continue to see what happens and how it plays out in Iran. Um and I'm really, really hoping that you know his bullshit, this mental state that he's in clears up. But it feels I feel like he has some kind of like Iranian derangement syndrome right now, right? They talk a lot about the Trump derangement syndrome syndrome. I feel like every time that comes up and they like go back on their word about a ceasefire or what have you. And actually the last one, I think it was Israel who fouled up. Yeah, they did. So it was Israel's stupid ass, right? So he should hold them accountable as well. Like, hey, why did you foul this up? And I think he probably was pretty pissed off about it. I know he was mad that the ceasefire.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, of course, he's putting his word out there, and then all of a sudden they're bombing. I'm like the next day. It's like, hey bro, like, what are you doing here? You know what I'm saying? Like, I get that too.
SPEAKER_01It's like, hey, like and so it begs to question, like, yo, and you're still calling for homeboy to be pardoned, like you're still calling for he's your buddy, you know. People, it looks shady, bro. Yeah, it really does look shady. So yeah, man, I hope some clarity happens in the Middle East, not just for not just for us over here, but of course, all the Irani, Iranian people. Now, don't get me wrong, a bunch of people were happy that this liberation happened, right? But it's not over. No, and those people are suffering because they're losing infrastructure, man. They're they're you lose they're gonna lose electricity, internet. It's like a damn prison, bro.
SPEAKER_02And it's crazy to see those photos of Iran before it became an Islamic state. You're like, bro, I can't believe it.
SPEAKER_01It's a metropolis, bro.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and it's wild to see how that just changed completely. Like, you know, how Islam really converted the whole nation. Yeah, and I and I get it because Islam's not our friend, they've never been, and they don't like America. They they everything about it. So it's like, you know, I get why we wouldn't like them, but at the same time, it's like, bro, I don't we don't want this. Like, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and just trickle the media, guys.
Trickle The News And Protect Peace
SPEAKER_01Yeah, trickle the media. I uh right now I'm trickling it just a little bit at a time. I'm making sure that I flood my damn my damn TikTok and I flood everything with like our content and like football and you know uh uh you know all the all the reviewers here in Midland, you know what I'm saying? You know who I'm talking about. Anyway, but you know that's that's what I'm flooding my you know my my content with. So every time that I'm in there, I'm not looking at you know bombs away and and people getting upset and oh yeah, and new announcements and all that shit. It's funny, I just got done watching The Night Agent, yeah. And it's cool, man. I I really like that show because like it it really does like point a camera at how powerful this last one was how powerful the media is, yeah, and what people in power and in government will do to shift the media to their side or to stop it altogether, yeah, right? And so like man, this is it it's crazy. Like it, yeah, it's a made-up show and it has a script and all that, but you can really see, and I'm you know, if anybody can go watch the night agent, I watch all three seasons, they're all good. Uh a couple of they're a little whiny here and there, but but anyway, it's cool. It's it's cool because you kind of get a picture of you know that that could definitely be happening.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, it's like uh secession. You ever seen that on HPO? No, I haven't seen it. It's really good. It's like about a family, they make it like about a family kind of owns Fox News, but it also shows the other side of a family that will like own CNN. Ah but a lot of them don't practice, like they're not really believing what exactly what they're putting out there, or they're shifting narratives just for like who has the most money, who has the most power. Bro, you gotta watch it, it's really good. I'm gonna watch it. Three or four seasons, and it's about also a billionaire family and then the power struggle, you know what I'm
Euphoria Culture And Guarding Your Home
SPEAKER_02saying? But I'm gonna watch it. It's crazy, man. Are you are you a euphoria guy? Man, you know what? I won't lie to you. I watched the first two seasons a while back.
SPEAKER_01But I I've never seen that show. Man, it's and now like every other swipe is uh trailer and all I mean I can tell you right now, it looks psycho.
SPEAKER_02I'll tell you right now, it's very like now that I watch it, like I'll tell you that after I got like after I got closer with like you know, God and Jesus, like tell you right now, I can't watch it because it's very lustful, it's very uh satanic, it's very man, it's just all like and then I saw like a part there earlier where it was like it was saying, like the lady was telling her, like, you know, well, uh she the lady was saying I want to be like a Christian because they look so happy. And the other girl's like, I wouldn't want to be one because they're judgmental, like stuff like that. And and if anything, Christians, true Christians are not judgmental. Yeah, they love you, but at the same time, it's hey, truth is truth and sin is sin. That's it completely, it's biblically.
SPEAKER_01I mean, there's gonna be there uh and that's the thing, like there's gonna be propaganda each way. That's what I mean. That's what I'm telling everybody, like trickle, trickle the media.
SPEAKER_02And it's very sad because you see it and you're like, man, this is kind of how the world is. Like, but you know, I have not watched the new one. I didn't even know it came out till the other day when I was uh drives everything, brother. Bro, bro, it's it's uh I I'm not into it. Um I I I kind of I can't watch it no more. It's two, it's very uh I'm not gonna watch it.
SPEAKER_01It's very uh I just know a lot of people are like, yeah, it's season three, like it's all right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's uh it's not it's not very like especially it's not very well, man. I would I would watch something else if you don't want to watch anything like that because it's got you know anything from transgender.
SPEAKER_01I know it's super I know it's super smuddy, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02I know that it's varying it's uh it's um man, it's just it's just dark, bro. Like drugs, kids, teenagers, like just like lost people. And then you look at stuff like that, and there's real children in this world that that that that get their mind, their mind gets in like warped by consumed, yes, consumed by pornography. So if anything, it kind of drives if young people watch it, teenagers, it kind of drives them the wrong way in a way. I mean you you see that skit, like they put that skit.
SPEAKER_01There's even a skit apparently, like, where girls like dress like a baby or something, like and yeah, they and actually I read about that and they they had to HBO had to uh redo the trailer. Yeah, they took they had to take it out.
SPEAKER_02Bro, and see stuff like that is weird because it's like they're trying to normalize certain things, and you're like, why why is that okay? No, I haven't seen it, I just saw like somebody talking about it. But it's like you see things like that, and like you know, the just like these kids, man, their minds get filled with it.
SPEAKER_01But the thing is, like the thing is that and not in defense of the show or anything, but like when I was reading about it, the like what they were trying to convey is they're trying to convey like the real world. So if it's if they're trying to convey like the real world stuff, like OnlyFans, yeah, uh, and and you know, prostitution and and confusion and sugar babies, yeah, all this, all this crazy shit, you know what I'm saying? Like they're conveying only what is being seen in the world. So I could just tell you like how fucked up the world is right now, you know, and and to us in our households and everything that you can control, like that's great, but y'all gotta understand, like, someone like and I'll go back to Nino, like someone like Nino understands, and so do we, we're just not as outspoken, but someone like Nino understands that the world, if if you're not careful, can consume anybody, right? It can consume, it could teach your your your children, indoctrinate your children if it if you're not strong in the household, or you're not you're you're not willing to talk about those things or whatever. Yeah, I'm willing to talk about this shit like I'm sure Ricky doesn't feel like talking about euphoria, but it's all over everything, and he's willing to talk about his side of it and how he feels about it, right? Yeah, that's what we got to be able to do, like talk about it.
SPEAKER_02For sure. And it's like you see things like that's what I and I go to Bible because I've been reading a lot of it, but it's like there's things you don't want your child to be conformed by the world, you want your child to be conformed by Christ. And there's that's when that's whenever you start to realize what the world is. And the world is dark, the world is ugly, the world is lustful, the world is has everything in it that's not gonna make anybody good. Like it may feel good to the flesh, but it's not good to the soul or to the spirit. Like, and and that's why they say in there, like, you know, watch what your eyes see and what you hear, because those things, man, they they really do will they will like change your mind, and a lot of our thoughts are not of our own. So it's like you'll have you'll watch something that gives you a bad thought. Next thing you know, you're down a bad hole, rabbit hole, baby.
SPEAKER_03You know, you know, exactly.
SPEAKER_02So it's like that's what I think is important. Like, and I know it's hard because of the world we live in and the things we hear and we see, but I've realized I've really learned that this year is that I try to stay away from things like that because man, it really does mess with my head.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you and it's not good, man. Yeah, like a lot of that stuff just it doesn't, I mean, it the already the show wasn't attractive to me. Yeah, and it's funny because Erica was like, you see, euphoria is coming out, and Erica has watched the show and she told me, and I told her, What is it about? Yeah, like what is it about? She's like, Well, it's just like teenagers and how they're you know their parents make mistakes and how like so it's about kids whose parents fucked them up and then now how they're living fucked up lives, and like I right on the and she was like, Yeah, pretty much. I was like, I don't want to watch that shit. It doesn't sound fun at all. It's funny, like, and you know, every everybody has their likes and everything, and I'm not judging anybody who likes euphoria. Just you know, talk about it. Ricky doesn't like it. Maybe you guys like it and you're very mature enough to be like, yeah, it's just a show, it's whatever, right? You know, we all watch something, we all have something that we indulge in. Like,
Superheroes Cartoons And What We Consume
SPEAKER_01for instance, I've been watching Invincible. I don't know if you've seen that. It's a bit comic book. Okay. So Invincible is a comic book and it's on it's on Prime. And it is probably one of the most viciously gory comic books that you could come across. Like, it is like people punching through people's skulls and destroying their faces.
SPEAKER_02Oh, um, yeah. Um is it called Invincible or is it called Invincible. Because there's another one on Amazon Prime where it's like um it's like superheroes too, but they're like Oh, the boys.
SPEAKER_01The boys, and that one's where like they passed. I haven't watched that yet, but eventually I won't I want to watch it. It's supposed to be like a comedic superhero show. Yeah, I got it. But Invincible's similar to that. Yeah. And uh I I love I love that show. It's like, and I've always yeah, I've always had a very morbid uh uh sense of humor. Yeah, like I've always laughed at that, and maybe it's a good thing, maybe it's a bad thing that I can laugh at those things and just get caught in the moment of science fiction, and I don't attribute it to anything in life, right? But I mean, in uh in one hand it is a cartoon. So that kind of helps, you know what I mean? Yeah, it's a cartoon, I got you. It's a it's an adult cartoon, yeah. But it's a comic book converted into TV. Okay, and oh man, it's just the the storylines are crazy. The people with powers, the powers that they have, it's crazy, and it's funny to a certain extent. Um, but it's uh it's a wild ass show. And I know a lot of people are you talk shit, whatever, talk shit about me liking Invincible or whatever. Yeah, but a lot of people hate that show. Yeah, they're like it's so useless, just people killing each other and all this shit. And I get it, you know what I'm saying? I get it, but guess what? I'm uh I don't let my kids watch it. I'm mature enough to know, hey, these are cartoons, you know, chopping each other's heads off. You know what I'm saying? It's it goes back to the days of the Looney Tunes, right? Where you know Elmer Fudd is trying to blow Bugs Bunny's head off, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02I got mad they took the gun out of that guy's hand, bro.
SPEAKER_01I can't believe they did that, man. It's crazy, man. He's nothing without his gun. Yeah, or Yosemite Sam blasting himself in the face or Marvin the Martian. You know, it goes back to that type of you know, that the where I was growing up. I was watching those on Saturday, like I was watching all those Looney Tunes and then it segued into crazy ass shows like Ren and Stimpy and Crazy Ash. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Red Stimpy was pretty wild.
SPEAKER_01Bro, I honestly think Cat Dog was worse than Ren and Stimpy, bro. Like it's been a minute.
SPEAKER_02It's a weird ass show, right?
SPEAKER_01Remember Red Stimpy just had boogers and butt cracks and vomit, and yeah, it was a very crude, it felt like an adult show, but they showed it at normal, like Nick Nick showed it. Nickelodeon, you know what I mean? Yeah, like in the window, though hey, we we got files on you, motherfuckers, you know what I'm saying? Nickelodeon is well, especially that familiar with that guy, man.
SPEAKER_02And you're like, bro, I used to love that show, all that. And you're like, this guy was involved in that, like, like two guys, like the guy that bro, and then it's like you see that you're like, Oh, you know, there's multiples, but like it's a very difficult thing to talk about or whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and we talked about it already before, so but we got you know, that stuff is well, take it easy, motherfucker.
SPEAKER_02Oh, dude, you know, but no, I I haven't seen, you know, I watched uh once time I watched The Watch Man, and that not the series, because the series got all weird, and I was like, I couldn't.
SPEAKER_01I've only watched a little bit of the series and it's crazy.
SPEAKER_02It's like I was really like hoping the series would be good, but like, you know, then it goes, you know, how Hollywood makes everything gay and all this stuff, you know. I'm like, bro, like I just want to watch a show, anyways, but the movie is good.
SPEAKER_01Keep it as it was, like in the movie. Yeah, I remember the movie, man.
SPEAKER_02That movie blew me away because I had never seen that, and I'm like, I'm so used to seeing superheroes that are don't do that.
SPEAKER_01Because everybody, like, when they're they were starting to come out with like the R-rated or the Snyder cut, like Batman's and shit like that.
SPEAKER_02Like, bro, but and I've been through that shit, bro. And it is wild because like you like we've watched Batman and Superman, but you never see the ugly side of watching where like like those guys literally tend to kill people or like beat them up, really.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and you're like, man, like I would have never but it's like what a real like if you just got superpowers, like how do you control? It's like the real yeah, like if there were superheroes in the real world, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, it's not just Batman. You're gonna tell me Batman's not ever gonna kill nobody, it's bullshit. Yeah, and you know, Shaman's gonna be watching this. Batman is trash. I want you to know, I want everybody out there to know it. Batman's hard ass trash. He's just rich, bro. Dana White could be Batman that guy.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I like Batman. I think he's pretty cool, man.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I don't have a problem with Batman per se, bro, but people are always like, yeah, Batman's the only one that gave Superman a run. No, he didn't, bro. Like this fool basically had to poison him. Like, I get it. I'm rich, I find resources, I'm really smart. Like, that shit is stupid. Superman could have snapped him like a twig at any moment he wanted to. Let's be real. And be honest too, though, Robin, bro.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Robin, Rob, who's Robin, dude. Like bro, Robin.
SPEAKER_01I don't know, is it, is it, I don't know if it's Robin or if it's if it's uh damn, what's I don't I forgot what the blue one the blue one is, because there's Robin and then there's another one that are with Batman, yeah, and he ends up killing them. He hits him in the head with a baton and he kills Robin. Bro, you should not be out there with with superheroes. Like Yano Karate, bam, one baton to the dome, and you're dead.
SPEAKER_02Why didn't uh Batman give Robin some of that cool gadget gear, bro? Because my man don't have nothing like that. Like, you know, you think about it, you're like, Robin was just a cop with an outfit on, bro.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I I think that's why the Dark Knight series was so good for Batman because it was kind of real. Like, like when Bane came out super gangster, started whooping everybody's ass, bro. Yeah, I was like, and that was, you know, he did it like a true gangster, you know what I'm saying? Just as a gangster. And that's normal, you know. Those are the normal people you should be. Yeah. And the Joker, that's what he was. He was he was in he was a mafioso, you know what I'm saying? And he just did crazy shit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But now, you know, you try to get into these other Batman. What do you what did you think about the penguin HPO series?
SPEAKER_02I like the penguin, bro.
SPEAKER_01I'm not gonna lie.
SPEAKER_02Well, I I love, I thought the way they did it, because you know, I love mafia stuff, but like the way they kind of inter like locked it, like I thought that was pretty cool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I like mafia shows too, but the p I I can't get past that fool's appearance, bro. Like, yeah, it just bothers me.
SPEAKER_02Uh I mean, uh, don't get me wrong, I like the raw, I like the uh Robert Downney Jr.'s uh is it Robert Down Jr.
SPEAKER_01No, it's uh uh Danny DeVito.
SPEAKER_02I love that pink judge. I can't say that just oh man, the snap. That pink one go is a go. I love that one. Like that's a classic. It's dark and it's cool, but like it's crazy. But like the way they made this, because like it was hard for me. Like, I'm over here thinking this guy's about to start eating sardines and shit. But uh, but he never does. He's like a regular guy with a limp, you know. I thought it was pretty good, man. I was like, he's just a mafioso. It's not too bad, you know. But yeah, man, I I don't know. I still watch a lot of stuff, you know, but but yeah, uh, no, no, I get that though for sure. I haven't seen the invincible. I think I'm talking about though. I think I've seen the yeah, no, it's fun.
SPEAKER_01It's is it's uh it's a fun, you know, show and you get really sucked into the show. I don't have to really be I uh I really don't have to be too it's not too far in either way. It's a pretty moderate show.
SPEAKER_02You know what's wild too is that uh have you ever seen um uh the Transformers cartoon?
SPEAKER_01I did, but the old, old one.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, like the newest one, like bro. Like I did not want to watch it. I was like, this is so dumb. Like, why am I watching? Pretty good. See, it's not bad at all. I was like, damn, I could watch that again.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I know which one you're talking about. The one where they're actually in Planet whatever the hell it is, and the that's the birth of Optimus Prime and Pegatronic.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's not it's not bad at all. I watched it. I was surprised. I was like, I don't know, I don't know much of a cartoon, dude.
SPEAKER_01Like, I'm I mean Camila watched it, we watched it, and Camila thought it was real funny when the guy was like um when Rumble Bee was like, I sliced him up or something like that, and she thought it was really funny, like she was on that for weeks.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's cool, man. You know, but um it's crazy how we get into all everything. We don't really talk about it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, man, it's fun, it's a good conversation. It's you know, I know I know in some of this it gets a little crazy and a little off topic. We all of a sudden get off topic or whatever, but you know, man, maybe that's why y'all love us.
SPEAKER_02I think so. I think that's why it keeps it because we got everything in this one, you know. I do want to do a shout out before we get to like before we end
Charity Event Details And Goodbye
SPEAKER_02this. And as for the body shift fitness, uh, he's having an open gym and gun raffle charity event. It's gonna be April 25th at 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. It's at 412 North Midland Drive in front of the old Kmart. If you're familiar, you know what I mean, off of Wally and all that.
