Hartford Prep.
Hartford prep. is for anyone wanting a college education, but it's aimed at Hartford residents who want to start the process at a Connecticut State Community College. Less than 20% of people who start at Hartford's Capital Community College and go full-time ever graduate. So, preparation seems in order. I will teach the two most important skills: Critical thinking and effective speaking. I ask everyone who attends to practice speaking effectively throughout each day, and to write in a notebook each day, and to care about everything

Hartford Prep. Episode 1: No Harm
This podcast is for everyone who wants a college education, but it's aimed at Hartford residents who want to start the process at a Connecticut State Community College. Unfortunately, only 12% of the students who start at Hartford's Capital Community College graduate. About 18% transfer to another college. So, Hartford residents could use some help. That's what this podcast is about. I'll teach the two most important skills: Critical thinking and effective speaking. If you do what I say, you'll quickly excell at these two skills. And you'll be empowered and better able to earn a bachelor's degree and change the world. Let's start with a quote: "First of all, do no harm." It's from Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, who lived in Greece some 2400 years ago. It applies to everything. Let's focus on your food. What do you eat and drink? Does it cause harm to you, to our environment, to animals, to the people who made the food? Does it clog coronary arteries or cause obesity or diabetes or cancer or tooth decay? Assignments: Say the quote often, think about harm relative to benefit, care about everything, and write something in a notebook everyday. Watch for Episode 2 and come back.
Regards.
