SHINE ON with Becky Schettler
Welcome to the Shine On podcast where I talk of Christ and rejoice in Christ! I am Becky Schettler, a Daughter of God, a wife, a mother of 5 and a grandmother. This is a space for women who want to draw closer to Jesus Christ and find more joy, healing, and hope through His atoning power. In each short episode, I share a personal story, recent quotes from church leaders and a spiritual insight I’ve gained by following Christ-like attributes. You'll leave with journal prompts to help you reflect and invite the Savior more fully into your own life. If you're seeking peace, purpose, and personal growth through the Light of Christ, you're in the right place. Come as you are, and let’s walk this journey together.

Worth the Wrestle with Emily Adams
Have you felt divine quietness? In this episode, Emily Robison Adams shares her story and the wrestle she went through during a period when God seemed to disappear in her life. She felt a deep darkness and experienced emotional depression during a very hard time. She found herself asking many questions including, “do I want God to be part of my life?” Emily’s story is one that resonates with people in various stages of faith. She talks about how she had to dig deep to find out who God is and if she believed God is worth worshiping? She shares a beautiful story of how she discovered for herself that God is good and she sees the goodness of God everywhere. She started to feel God’s goodness through people who listened openly and discussed her questions with her.
She also discovered writing down her feelings increased her ability to process her questions which led to her book published by Deseret Book called, Divine Quietness, Finding Meaning When Heaven is Silent. Emily’s personal story and experiences will continue to shine light for others who are facing their own darkness and for someone who wants to understand a loved one who is struggling with their faith in the Lord.
Emily resides in Utah with her husband and 3 children and is an attorney by profession.
