Living Life in the Savior's Way
In this episode, I share a childhood story about my dad teaching me to set goals based on the 4 areas of personal development: mind, body, spirit and social. The principles of personal development have helped me draw closer to Jesus Christ throughout my life as I focus on becoming more like Him. I hope it inspires you to be intentional about your daily actions to develop your mind, body, spirit and relationships.
Scripture: Luke 2:52
✨ Journal Prompts: If I were to rate myself on a scale of 0-5, how strong am i in the areas of spirituality, intellectual, physical and relationships? Based on those answers, ask yourself, what is one area I feel inspired to focus on for the next 7 days?

Welcome to the first episode of Season two of Shine on Podcast. This season, I'm really focusing on how we can shine His light through the way that we live by following His example. I'm gonna start off with the scripture in Luke 2:52. It says,"Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man." We learn that Jesus developed all areas of his life, spiritually, socially, physically and intellectually. And so can we. I love personal development and I love looking at all four areas of life. My first experience with this was when I was a young girl. My dad was mission president in Independence, Missouri when I was four years old. One of my first memories with my dad is sitting in his office and he wrote down these four areas, spiritual, social, physical and intellectual. At that time, he probably used words more like Heavenly Father, friends, body, and mind things that a little girl would understand. But I remember that he said, is there something that you would like to work on, that you would like to get better at? We talked about it and I decided that I could practice and get better at not biting my fingernails. It was a bad habit that I had, and he encouraged me that if I could do it for a certain amount of time, that he would gimme a candy bar. And that was enough motivation for me to really think about it. And when I was tempted to bite my fingernails. I remembered what the motivation and the reward was, and it helped me stop biting my fingernails. Well, the same principle of setting goals has grown with me through my adult life. As I was in high school, I learned to apply these principles of practicing habits, and I established spiritual habits of reading my scriptures and writing in my journal, praying. I applied these principles to practicing the piano and I became very accomplished in piano. So much that I went on to college and graduated in music. I practice these habits in finding good friends and making meaningful relationships. And I have continued to practice them in my life. I look back in my life and I see how I have increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God a man. Living life in the Savior's way has become my daily pursuit. This is why I started a podcast to shine the light of Christ. This is why I have created a way to practice daily habits myself, and now I'm expanding to teach other people how I focus on living in the Savior's way. What I teach is the personal development principles that the Savior lived. No matter how old or young we are, living in the Savior's way requires intentional focus and daily practice. President Nelson said,"As you walk in the Lord's path of righteousness, you will be blessed to continue in His goodness and be a light and a savior unto His people." I am passionate about the light of Christ and shining our light for others to see. We first have to start with ourself, and we have to align our habits and our daily actions and our priorities by following the example of Jesus Christ. For our full potential and to be an instrument in His hands and shine the light for others. I like to end my podcast with some journal prompts that you can think about and discover some new insights for yourself. Here are the prompts for this week: If I were to rate myself on a scale from zero to five, how strong am I in the areas of spirituality, intellectual, physical, and relationships? Based on those answers, ask yourself: what is one area I feel inspired to focus on for the next seven days? I really love focusing my life and centering it on the Savior Jesus Christ. My specialty is helping middle aged women of faith discover their worth and purpose, and together we create a plan that they are excited about as they enter the next season of their life. In this discovery process, we begin to align our daily habits according to the Lord's pattern, and His light will continue to shine brighter. President Nelson reminds us that Jesus Christ is the only enduring source of hope and peace and joy for you. If there's anything that I can do to help support you in drawing closer to Jesus Christ and aligning your life and your daily habits by following His example, reach out to me and let's get connected. I'd love to have that conversation with you as we continue on this journey of shining the light of Christ
