Season 3 Pre-launch: Credible Witness

Jan Harrison:

Welcome to the third season of Rooted and Radiant. I'm your host Jan Harrison and I am so glad to be back here with you. With friends that have been such a part of this journey. And if you're joining us for the first time; welcome, we look so forward to growing in friendship and faith together. Encouragement and strength for our journey are generated when we spend time sharing the Word and the work that God is doing in our lives. My preparation for this season has been like core training in my spirit. As I've had the opportunity to be inspired and challenged by God's power to transform lives through the personal testimonies of my guests. Each story is as unique as the person and as all of our lives are. And they train and they teach and they prepare you and me to be credible witnesses for Christ. This season's focus came out of a conversation with a close friend. She referenced people whose lives showed her that Jesus is alive and intimately acquainted with her as a credible witness. The term begged questions. Things like what character traits make a person's witness for Christ believable to you. I want you to begin to watch and the listen and to make your own list of things that make a person's life a credible witness and light for the life of Jesus. Who are some of the people that you consider credible witnesses in your life? Some of our guests are going to share some really sweet, precious examples of the people that have led them on and help them see Jesus. How does my life point others to The Living Lord Jesus? Testimonies of his personal participation in our lives have immense impact. We can never overestimate the eternal power and that everlasting reach that our stories have when we make sure that Jesus is the main character. God desires for us to tell others about Him in a way that makes Him believable. Psalm 105 verses 1 through 5 says this written by David: 

*Oh, give thanks to the Lord! 

Call upon His name;

Make known His deeds among the peoples!

Sing praises to Him, sing praises to Him;

Talk of His wondrous works!

Glory in His name;

Let the hearts of those who rejoice seek the Lord!

Seek Him and His strength;

Seek His face forevermore!

Remember His marvelous works which He has done

I just love those words because it says to make known His deeds. That’s why we share.  It says to praise Him when song and word to talk of his wondrous works. And this is what we're going to do this season. Telling our story, telling His story in our lives is a privilege. And this season we're going to honor Him with our stories. I pray that you'll be strengthened to cultivate the credibility of your own personal witness and then share it with those around you.
