I’m so excited to share this heartfelt conversation with my dear friend, Elizabeth, as we reflect on my recent discussion with Dr. James Dobson and go even deeper into what it means to build our lives on the firm foundation of Jesus.
Together, we talk about family, motherhood, and how to keep an eternal perspective in a world that constantly pulls us in different directions. Elizabeth and I open up about the importance of cultivating a personal relationship with the Lord.
Through the hardest moments of my life, Jesus was with me. And that’s why this message is so personal. I want you to know His presence and goodness, no matter what you’re walking through today. I pray this conversation strengthens your faith and encourages you to trust the One who is always faithful.

This season, we’ve been blessed with truly authentic faith conversations—personal testimonies from ordinary people who boldly shared how God has worked in their lives. These weren’t polished presentations, but honest and genuine encounters that point to the ultimate credible witness, Jesus.
God is calling us to be credible witnesses to those around us. As we close this season, I want to challenge you: will you be bold with your testimony? God has uniquely crafted your story.
Thank you to our guests for their vulnerability and courage, and to you, our listeners, for coming alongside us this season. It has been a privilege to grow in faith together.

Now more than ever, it’s important to equip the next generation to stand for Jesus with boldness and confidence.

My vision for Rooted and Radiant is that it helps you cultivate trust in God’s presence in every circumstance of your life. In this re-release episode, “Hope in Heaven,” you can listen in as I talk to my daughter Caroline about grief and hope. She shares her journey through the valley of the shadow of death after losing her brother James. I believe this conversation is very powerful, and if you know someone who is grieving, I strongly encourage you to share it with them.

In this episode, Wendy shares how God was her constant source of hope during her darkest moments. We talk about the promises she held close to her heart and how God’s presence illuminated her path, even when she couldn’t see the way forward. This week, we’re re-releasing another listener favorite, where I sit down with my good friend Margaret to discuss the profound impact of prayer and the importance of having prayer partners. Jesus said, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20, NIV). In this episode, we explore how prayer is not about perfection but about connection. Whether you’re feeling soul-weary or simply want to deepen your prayer life, this conversation will inspire you to embrace the power of prayer in a whole new way. Mother’s Day brings a range of emotions for many people. In this bonus Mother’s Day episode, I had the privilege of sitting down with my 17-year-old grandson, Luke, who was adopted when he was 18 months old. Together, we talk about the complexities of his situation and how more than one thing can be true—something can be both good and hard at the same time. I hope this beautiful conversation touches you as much as it did me, and makes you feel a little less alone if you are someone who feels gaps or spaces in your own life.

As we wrap up Season Two of the Rooted & Radiant podcast, I would like to thank our guests for their vulnerability, honesty, and courage in sharing their stories. They not only teach us but also remind us that we are not alone in our experiences, even when they are sad or dark. The enemy may try to convince us we are alone, but through sharing the work of God in our lives, we come to realize that we are not. Isolation is a tool of the enemy but sharing our journey together helps us to recognize God’s presence with us.
Thank you for accompanying us on this season's journey through the wilderness, where we learned that it is not a place of banishment, but rather a space where God seeks to bless us. It’s been a privilege to explore God's word together. Stay tuned for Season Three!

The decision to follow God does not exempt us from challenging times; rather, it guarantees that we will step into a spiritual battle. In this episode, we’ll discuss how God has equipped you for this battle and how there is power beyond yourself when you engage in it. Transitioning from the wilderness to the promises God has given you requires putting on the full armor of God and capturing every thought for Him. That which you believed would ruin you will, in fact, lift you up. God has promised you spacious places.

Sometimes we go through valleys that only Jesus can walk us through. It was my privilege to sit down and talk to my oldest daughter, Morgan, about her own wilderness journey through one such valley. When her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor, she and her family embarked on a long, terrifying, and brutal healing journey. Join us for this raw conversation about learning to admit when you're not okay, seeking support from trusted people, and ultimately placing trust in the goodness of God, regardless of the outcome.

There are treasures in the wilderness—treasures you would never have received if you had not been willing to follow God into a dry and barren land. Time and time again, we see examples of people walking through the wilderness and into God’s promises in the Bible—Abraham, Moses, David, John, and even Jesus. In this episode, I talk about how God prepares a table in the wilderness for us. I pray that this episode reminds you that God has personal promises for you, even in, and especially in the wilderness.

Prayer is a gift God gives to His children so that they will be equipped to live in this world with hope, courage, and victory. In this episode, I explore the prayer life of Jesus and discuss how to grow and cultivate a rich prayer life. There are numerous instances of Jesus withdrawing to pray in the Bible. This tells us something—a rich prayer life starts when we are willing to go into the wilderness. Let’s dive into what the Bible has to say about it.

Prayer is one of the main ways God provides for us to stay rooted and grounded in Him. It’s a comfort to know that we can simply call on the Lord—He desires to reveal great and unsearchable things to us. This episode, I talk to my friend, Kristy, about her journey of spiritual growth, especially through the lens of prayer. After facing the tragic loss of her mother to suicide, Kristy found that the Lord is a compassionate confidant who could empathize with her deepest emotions. We explore the misconception that sometimes arises, where we question the effectiveness of our prayers, especially when something bad happens, wondering if we've done it right or enough. Prayer isn't a rigid formula designed to yield specific answers; rather, it's a pathway to building a meaningful relationship with God. Pour yourself a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and settle in for this honest and beautiful conversation.

Grief is a journey that touches us all, and being prepared to navigate it, both for ourselves and to support others, is invaluable. We have to get comfortable with grief. There is so much we can learn from scenes of grief and loss of men and women in the Bible. In this episode, we are going to dive into some of these examples and talk about healing. I want to say, if you are experiencing loss of any kind, I’m sorry.
While recognizing that Jesus is the ultimate understanding companion in times of sorrow, I also acknowledge the importance of reaching out for human connection. If you find yourself in a low place and need someone to talk to, I want to share the Suicide and Crises Hotline: https://988lifeline.org/.
