As I told you yesterday, they’ll announce the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025 Sunday on American Idol.  I can tell you that Phish won the fan vote.  Of course, that’s no guarantee they’ll make the cut. The Fan Vote is just one out of approximately 1,200.  The other voters include other artists, previous inductees, historians, and music-industry professionals, but–The winner of the Fan Vote has been inducted the same year in 11 out of 12 years since the fan ballot was created in 2013. Bad Company got the second most fan votes, followed by Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper, and Joe Cocker.

Speaking of Billy Idol–he’s got a new single out called “77.”  It features a guest appearance by Avril Lavigne

Music Producer Roy Thomas Baker died.  He worked with The Cars, Devo and Cheap Trick.  He also produced Queen’s first 4 albums, meaning he’s the producer of Bohemian Rhapsody.  He went on to become Senior VP of A&R for Elektra, and is the one who signed Metallica to that label.  Roy Thomas Baker was 78.

Elvis Costello is extending his upcoming tour 'Radio Soul!: The Early Songs of Elvis Costello'.  He added 22 new dates this fall.  Only one of them is in PA:  September 18th at the Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem.
