After 27 years, Drummer Matt Cameron is leaving Pearl Jam. Cameron joined Pearl Jam in 1998 after Soundgarden's breakup and has played on every Pearl Jam album from 2000's “Binaural” through last year’s “Dark Matter”. The band expressed their fondness for Cameron, saying, "He will be deeply missed and is forever our friend in art and music." Cameron thanked the band for giving him "the opportunity of a lifetime, one filled with friendships, artistry, challenges, and laughter."
An Ozzy Osbourne biopic is in the works, with a "raw" movie about his life potentially hitting the big screen as early as 2027. Jack Osbourne revealed that the script for the biopic is done, and Sony Studios will be producing it, with a director attached and a script rewrite in progress. That unnamed director of the Ozzy Osbourne biopic is described as "absolutely phenomenal" and a "die-hard fan" of Ozzy's.
BTW, Black Sabbath's "Back to the Beginning" concert was streamed by 5 million fans.
The R&RHOF still hasn’t seen fit to induct them, but The Royal Mint is launching commemorative coins celebrating 50 years of Iron Maiden. The coins feature Maiden's mascot, Eddie, and include "hidden" references to various albums and tours. The Royal Mint's director of commemorative coin praised Iron Maiden as fearless pioneers in music and highlighted the band's creative vision and dedicated following over the past 50 years.
