Box Office Recap

  1. Avatar: Fire and Ash–$88 million

The new Avatar movie topped the box office, but the 88 million it pulled in on its opening weekend was a steep drop from the $134 million that “Avatar: The Way of Water” made when it opened in 2022.

After Saturday’s snow, Bowen Yang left the cast of Saturday Night Live.  Yang joined “SNL” as a writer in 2018, became a featured player, and was promoted to the main cast, earning five Emmy nominations.

Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang have new corporate overlords.  Sony acquired a majority stake in the Peanuts franchise by purchasing the shares owned by a company called WildBrain.  To get WildBrain’s 39% stake, do you know what Sony paid?  $457 million.

Netflix's Last Samurai Standing has been renewed for a second season.
