In episodes 8 & 9, we looked at how we can grow in our ability to hear God.

We specifically looked at:

· Cultivate intimacy with God.

· Practice

· Get feedback

· Have fun

First Principle: We grow in hearing God by becoming closer to God.

· Intimacy is so important.

· Intentionally grow your relationship with God.

· How's your Bible reading going?

· Is there anyone you need to forgive at the moment?

· Is there an area of your life you still haven't obeyed God in yet?

Second Principle: Purpose in your heart to hear God.

· If you have prepared yourself and plan ahead, it is easier.

· Look for incremental improvements.

· Consistency is important.

· Don't compare.

· Keep focused on God and not others.

Third Principle: Enjoy the journey

· Learning to enjoy the process as well as the outcome.

· Celebrate 'attempts' as well as successes.

· Keep curious.

Fourth Principle: Have a mentor.

· Someone you can run things past and ask questions.

Prophetic activation:

Have a journal/paper, Bible, and pen with you. Turn your heart and thoughts to Father God, and as you think about God, write a list of ways God has shown His faithfulness to you or things you are grateful to God for. Read through the list. Ask God to highlight something on your list and reveal something more about that person/incident. (Is there anything more God You would like to show or tell me about?)
