How can I grow in hearing God (part 2)?

In the last episode, we shared practical tips for helping you grow in hearing God and the principles of growing closer to God, purposing in your heart to hear God, enjoying the journey with God, and having a mentor. First Principle: Look for "God-opportunities".

· Usually, when we can't be bothered, or when people irritate us, God is inviting us to grow in Him. We have learnt to ask, "What's God saying to me?"

· Neighbours – God's bringing people into my life for a season as they need to get to know God, and He positions them because He can trust us.

· Gary with specific clients – God can trust that Gary will go above and beyond and help them in other areas of their lives.

Second Principle: Keep a journal.

· Keep a record.

· Write your thoughts down, e.g. "God – how do you want me to grow in hearing you?"

Third Principle: Be yourself

· Stretch yourself, but be true to who God made you to be.

Prophetic activation:

Have a journal/paper, Bible, and pen with you. Turn your heart and thoughts to Father God, and write at the top of the page, "God, how would You love me to grow in hearing You?". Then, let your thoughts flow and write down what comes to you. Don't try to edit or question, "Is that me, or is it God?". Whatever comes into your mind, write it down. If it's a picture, you might like to draw it or try to describe the image. And then look at other questions you could ask God. At the end of your writing, read back and be amazed at what you wrote and how God spoke to you.
