Hi everyone and welcome to our podcast . Today we'll be talking about four strategies for staying motivated when studying for the NCMHCE . I'm Stacey and this is my co-host , Linton .
LintonHey everybody . It's true that studying for the NCMHCE can be a daunting task , but with some motivation and the right strategies , you'll be able to tackle this exam head-on .
StacyAbsolutely . The first strategy we're going to discuss is setting realistic goals for yourself . It's important to set achievable goals that you know are within reach so that you can stay motivated and feel a sense of accomplishment when you reach those goals .
LintonThat's right , and this can be done by breaking down the exam into smaller chunks , right out of plan , of what you want to accomplish every day or week before studying for the NCMHCE . That way you can pace yourself and take on material and digestible pieces that won't seem totally overwhelming .
StacyVery true , linton . The second strategy for staying motivated is going to sound a little obvious . It's to take breaks . Studying for a long duration of time can be exhausting , and it's important to give yourself some rest in between sessions .
LintonI can second that Taking a break doesn't mean you have to completely walk away from your studying , but just step away for maybe five or ten minutes or so and do something that will clear your mind , like taking a walk , meditating , doing some yoga or anything else that helps you to relax and rejuvenate .
StacyExactly Put the kettle on , have a cup of tea , go watch your chickens anything that's going to give you a little breather . The third strategy we'll discuss is to surround yourself with positive people . It's important to chat with classmates or friends who are also studying for the NCMHCE . This is going to keep you motivated and help if there are any questions or topics that you're stuck on .
LintonYeah , for example , there is a Facebook group a number of them that will help you get in touch with other people that are studying , Like the NCMHCE study buddies on Facebook . That's a good one , right . And the fourth strategy is to reward yourself for all of your hard work . It's important to give yourself small rewards when you reach certain goals , so that you stay motivated and keep striving towards the next goal . These rewards can be anything from a night out with friends or even just a nice cup of coffee while studying . What would you do , Stacy ?
StacyWhat I said is my reward Something enjoyable , relaxing , even if it's I like , the cup of coffee idea , glass of wine , i don't know . whatever it is that puts a smile on your face .
LintonHow about chocolate ?
StacyYes , chocolate is a good trusty stand-by . Or celery juice , Linton , in your case .
LintonOkay , all right .
StacyCelery juice and Mike . I don't know if that's exactly a reward .
LintonWell , it's a long-term investment . What can I say ?
StacyYes , yes , absolutely . Well , these are the four strategies that we wanted to share with you today , and we hope that they help you stay motivated when studying for the test . Good luck with your studies .
LintonRight . Good luck to everyone out there preparing for the exam And thanks for turning in . See you later everybody .
