Pete Lyons is the son of legendary photographer Ozzie Lyons, which explains his amazing life spent around the greatest race car drivers and tracks in the world. He recently wrote a book about his life entitled "My Travels on Racer Road' with the Foreword written by Sir Jackie Stewart and the Epilogue penned by Mario Andretti. Pete talks about the amazing skills of Mario Andretti and how he was great even when he first started. He talks about riding and going 190 miles per hour with Champagne Peter Revson in a CanAm Race Car truly built for only one person. Pete also tells Stewarts about the things that made CanAm Racing so great, like the limited number of rules that made it different from Formula One. They also discuss what ultimately killed CanAm like growing safety concerns as well as the gas crisis.
The two men talk about the current state of F1 Racing as well as other books Pete has authored, like The Complete Book of Lamborghini. Pete talks about how huge the current F1 cars are compared to the 1960s and 1970s and how the drivers say they are tough to handle. Stewart mentions Seinfeld sold the incredible Porsche 917 from LeMans with the legendary Gulf Livery for more than $25 Million after not selling it at a recent auction.
