Stop waiting for the perfect moment. Your baseline determines whether opportunities pass you by.

Your baseline isn't about perfection, it's about readiness. When opportunity knocks, will you be in a position to answer the door? I'm sharing the mindset shift that changed how I show up in business and life, the "broken nails" mentality that's keeping you small, and exactly how to lock in the version of yourself you want to be.

From maintaining your energy to your bank account, your baseline affects everything. Here's how to make sure yours supports the life you actually want.

What You'll Learn:

  • Why your baseline determines your opportunities
  • The "broken nails" mentality and why it's costing you
  • How to audit your life and business for mismatches
  • Making your dream day your actual baseline
  • The difference between appearance and energy (spoiler: energy matters more)
  • How to maintain consistency with your goals
  • Why you don't need to wait for rock bottom to invest in yourself
  • The power of incremental effort in building your vision

Well hot stuff. I want you to pause whatever you're doing. Maybe not pause if you're driving, but you know what I mean. I want you right now to go and do a bit of an energy audit. Do an audit on yourself. Little sexy scan. And I want you to ask yourself that if the person that you look up to the most, that thing that we want, like that fantasy job, podcast interview, client, whatever it is, they would've come up and they wanna knock on our door right now and they'll be like, I'm ready. I'm ready. Would you freak out or would you be like, awesome, sweet. Would you answer the door to the opportunity that you want? If it came knocking, knock, knock. Hi. It's the thing you want. Would you answer with how you feel and how you are showing up right now? And potentially not the advice that you wanna hear, but the advice that you need to hear because. Life and business gets easier when we look at the baseline that we have and we don't let our baseline be shit. What I mean by this now story time. I always have my nails done, as you can see, always fabulous perfection, incredible obsessed with Kylie. Incredible job. And when I went to get my nails done the other week, someone at work said to me, you don't need them done. They look perfect. And I said, but that's exactly why I'm going to get them done. I don't wanna wait until I have so much like regrowth that a developer is like tapping me on the shoulder, being like, can we buy that land to like develop it? I don't want that to happen. I don't want to lose three fingernails, so it looks like I've been in a fucking bar fight or I can't afford to get them done. I don't want that. That is well below my standard now. There was once a point in time when that was my standard. I always had missing nails. Like if you have followed me on Instagram for a while, you would watch my stories and guess what I would be like without three different fingernails. Half of them would be broken. It was messy. Bitch central. I looked like I hadn't slept in three days because I hadn't, and I looked tacky. And the problem is with this, because that was my baseline, guess what happened? An opportunity would happen. I would think of content. I would wanna record it, and what would I do? I wouldn't fucking do it because I would be like, well, I'm not looking perfect. I can't do this right now, but I'm getting my nails done in like a week's time, so I'll do it then. But guess what happens? The mood, the feeling, the opportunity is happening right now. But the problem is you have made your baseline at a point where your baseline is not ready for the opportunities that you want. So I want you to think about how you would get yourself prepped and ready. This, this isn't even just about appearance, this is about how you feel. It's about how you talk about yourself, we can look at this where if you had like a big training event, let's pretend you're doing a day training event. There's a chance that you start your morning in a particular way. You get yourself ready. You're like, well, what I would do, I'd go for a walk, I'd do some yoga. I would listen to some like really like high energy music. I would get myself in that state. I would look in the mirror. I would do my affirmations as I was putting my makeup on, and as soon as I walked out of my house with my cup of coffee in hand to go and do that thing, I was fucking ready. So my question is, why is that not your baseline? When we look at everything that we want and we want unexpected clients, we want some random person like emailing us for an opportunity. We dream about being on tv. Why is our baseline at a point where it's not what we want our life to be? I want you to get really clear on what is your dream day. You know the best day ever where you are, like, my, the sun is out, my hair is perfect, it's shiny, my skin looks incredible. I put on clothes that fit my body really well. I've got food in the fridge. Awesome. That should be your baseline because at the end of the day, there is gonna be always in life, so many things that you can control and that you can't control. I can't control if the sun is gonna come out or not. I'm sorry, I wish I could, but what I can control is what I wear, how I show up, the energy that I bring when I walk into the room. That is, of course dictated by what happens when I first wake up. And we don't wanna ever get to a point where we are feeling scrappy as fuck. Now, image aside, this shows up in business all the time. Our baseline is. I wait until I have no money in my bank account. You know, one of my, my clients, Brooke from Wright Mode that I have in business bank started working with me off the back of her best month. She's like, I want this to continue. I'm gonna lock this in. There's a reason to that woman's a fucking winner because that is a winner move. Quite often what people will do is they'll wait to work with a consultant when they have no money in there and then they're freaking out and they're trying to make it work and their business. It's like, we need CPR immediately. We don't wanna do that. We don't wanna do that. That is the equivalent to walking around with like five broken fucking nails and that remember that developer, the ones to like buy that land because you've got so much regrowth. So I want you to take stock of your life and your business and everything that you want. I want you to look at your marketing. I want you to look at your sales. I want you to look at your pipeline. I want you to look at people on wait lists. I want you to look at who you are today and what you have working for you right now. And we can get really clear. If this was our regular baseline, would we be happy? Would we freak out? Would we send opportunities away because we're like, I'm not ready, then get ready, get ready, get ready. This is the kind of advice that sometimes we don't wanna hear, but we need to hear. And I am a huge believer that you one, have to dress for the opportunities that you wanna have. Now, I know I don't have children, but if you are a parent and you do everything else for your family and you're like, I can't buy stuff, yes you can. A hundred percent you can. The kindest thing that you can do for yourself and to model to your children is to look after yourself and to not give to everyone else because you don't want your kids doing that. And we want to get really clear on. The things that we want in life, how can we maintain consistency with that? So if you wanna always have clients, if you wanna always be fully booked and that's your baseline, what are you gonna do? So that is your baseline. If you always wanna make money and you have a really good s solid, sexy month, and you wanna make that baseline, what is your baseline? For example, right now, for me, my baseline is, and oh, this feels so good. This feels really good. I'm about to have a flex. My bank account doesn't actually ever dip below 45 to 50,000 bucks. Do you know how good that feels to have my business bank account always stay that flush? There was once a point in time when we had 3000 bucks in there and I was like, oh, phew, okay, awesome. I can pay my bills. Sometimes I would have 500 bucks in there and I'd be like, oh, okay. I can pay something, but I'm really gonna have to like work at this. I have now set my baseline where the bank account is never gonna dip below 48,000 bucks. Doesn't mean that I can't spend money, I can spend money. So it doesn't mean that if I have 48,000 I wanna buy something. I'm like, well, I'm not gonna buy it. Guess what? I get to go buy it. But I get to really quickly bring, bring that back up. I get to sell. I get to go pitch.

Okay, hot stuff. I'm gonna add a little footnote on this episode. So I recorded this, I think it was two weeks ago. My bank account at the moment is just under 60, which feels really nice and I'd actually decided that one of the goals that I'm going to lock in this year. Is having like finishing the year with a hundred K in my bank account. That feels delicious. It feels lush, it feels very big. Business founder. So I wanted to just add that I love how I have the ability, I will say. When I record these podcast episodes to make my business so much better by the work that I deliver you, I love that I get to do this, reflect back on it, and this was something really awesome. So I wanna know, I am doing the work with you, babe, when I'm telling you to raise your baseline. Trust me, I am doing the same as. I actually popped up a post on this on Instagram. So what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna link this, which shows kind of just me talking a little bit more into this, specifically around the, the bank account and what I'm working towards with this goal. So if that's something that you're interested in reading, you can read that below. let's get back on track with the episode.

squadcaster-b0a4_1_01-11-2026_132749

So when you are aware of this baseline, you are gonna move through business really differently. You are gonna be aware of things. So it's like when you spend money, you are gonna go and make money. when we are thinking about like always having leads, then guess what happens? You convert these leads. What are you gonna do? Awesome. You've converted leads. Guess what you need? You need more leads. You are gonna go and sell. You want to have people that are current clients. Okay, awesome. What do you need to do? We need to go and put more people in that pipeline. So do a quick assessment of your life and of your business and who you are today, and ask yourself, where is that mismatch? What do I need to do? How can I raise that baseline to be in a point where I am always on, I'm always ready, and when that, when opportunity comes knocking, guess what? I'm fucking ready. I am ready and I'm ready. And I'm fabulous with sexy fucking nails. Guess what? I'm getting them done this week. You're like, you don't need to, which is exactly why you need to. Maybe like mantra moving forward. Why you don't need to is exactly why you need to go get it done, get it done. Commit to having overflow. You're not a shit person. It's not wasteful. Go do it. Go do it. Uh, I love this hotty. I love this. I love you. I love you more than my animal print trench and my incredible boob. Oh, fantastic. I look great City Skyline in the background, obsessed with that. It is a, it is a, uh, a consistent theme I feel at the end of these podcast episodes, so I love you more than that, what else do I love you more than, I love you more than good sales people in a store. I went into the store, I think it's called Danish Red. Yeah, Danish red. It's on High Street in Armidale, and the shop assistant there, Janine, fantastic salesperson. She was incredible. She was engaged. I was like, I wanna bring my mother back. I wanna spend some money here. I love you more than that. I love you more than someone that is good at their job that loves what they're doing. It is just an absolute delight, like how fun is the sales process when you get someone that actually wants to be there. So maybe that's a tip for you. Like people wanna buy from people that are enthusiastic. Like, be enthusiastic, be enthusiastic, be obsessed with what you do. Uh, so I love you more than that. I love you more than, oh my gosh, my cheeky little decaf es express that I'm about to have. Uh. What time is it? It's 1 39. It's 1 39 and I'm feeling fine. Okay. I definitely need a break and a coffee. So I am batch recording my podcast episodes, which if you've got a good memory, you'll be aware that I've probably said this in the last three Monday Mindset episodes. And it's funny, I am continually trying to like. I'm gonna say hack a system on making this work for me. Now, there was once a point in time when I would do these podcast episodes and it feels like it would take forever, and it did. And then when we added video, it just took so much more and it got so long. And what I've said to myself is I'm like, there is no reason that you can't batch record these Monday, Monday mindset episodes because awesome shit always comes out of your mouth. Gosh, I'm feeling humble today. But you need to keep them shorter because some of them are obviously up there in length. And what I'm gonna say boundary. Boundary is if you are like, I want them to be longer. Do you know the best way to have long form Peter content is to just work with me because you get me continually and you get me talking about you and your business and money and random other things as well. Because the shit that leaves my mouth when there is no recording is. Some actually, I don't even know what you can expect with that. Maybe like ask some clients, but, um, I love you more than that. I love you more than, oh my gosh. My beautiful mom, Jan, queen Jan, love her. We went out on New Year's Eve and she had on this like spectacular pink top. It looks so good. I don't know anything about like, it's not color theory, but you know how everyone's like, I'm a soft autumn. I'm a crisp, I was gonna say a Chris Baffle. Uh, but you know what I mean. Like I don't think Jan's a Chris baffle. Maybe she was a summer, I'm not sure. But she had him this like light pink top. It looked so good. She looked amazing. I was like, you look so good. And mom's like, the woman in the shop was like, you look so good. I'm like, you need to wear this top all the time. Put the top on, go for a walk around the block and then just go home. Like the top is good. You can't be in a bad mood with a good top. Uh, so hot stuff. Other tip of the day. Can't be in a bad mood with a good top. So go put a top on, shake your tits. Remember who the fuck you are. Look at your baseline. And No, I will say too, uh, to just, to like, just really like bring it home with this podcast episode. We always have a chance to get better and better and better and better. You know, as I said at the start, I was peak messy bitch with like broken nails. I sometimes like wouldn't wash my hair. I would slick it back in a bun and I, it's, it worked for me at the time, but then I would work out, well, I don't feel that good when I do this, so I'm gonna change it. I'm gonna wash my hair a bit more regularly, or I'm gonna put a bit more effort in. I'm gonna wear makeup every day. I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna wear better shoes. I'm not gonna wear thongs anymore. I'm gonna wear actual shoes. And you do this gradually enough and one day you will wake up and you'll arrive that find a little puzzle piece will just like pop in place. And guess what? You'll be your vision board. Or you'll be your Pinterest board, whatever it is, and you'll be like, how did this happen? It happens with intentional daily effort, raising your standards and making your baseline, the vision board or the Pinterest version that you wanna be hot stuff. You've got this in you. I know you can make it happen. I love this. I love you and I'll see you on the next episode. Nah.
