Proclamation - Victory Belongs to Jesus
What if the key to overcoming your toughest workplace struggles lies in a timeless biblical principle? Join us as we unpack the profound wisdom of Ecclesiastes 10:4 and explore how maintaining gentleness and calmness can transform your approach to challenges. Drawing from personal experiences, we discuss the importance of pausing, breathing, and assessing whether difficulties are rooted internally or externally, all while striving to meet expectations and deliver results.
In this episode, we explore the mantra "Don't resign in defeat, resign from the mountain," urging you to hand over your battles to God and seek guidance through prayer and faith. Discover how biblical figures like Moses found strength by surrendering their struggles and allowing God to fight on their behalf. We encourage you to stay the course, trust in God's timing, and resign on His terms, from a place of victory. This conversation is a powerful reminder to seek God's guidance and find the strength to remain calm and steadfast in the face of adversity.
Ecclesiastes 10 and verse 4. I'll read in the Amplified Classic Edition If the tempter of the ruler rises up against you, do not leave your place or show a resisting spirit For gentleness and calmness. Prevent or put a stop to great offenses. So in the recent past, I've been struggling. Struggling with different things in my life, especially from a work front, where you are faced with different challenges, from process to people, to output, to outcome, to results. Yet every day, as a leader, I'm expected to be able to show up, turn up and put my best foot forward. So, whereas all these things do take place, things do take place One thing that I've discovered is I'm not really good at processing my emotions and sometimes you just go on the drive gear, you just want to get the work done and never really take time to breathe, to exhale, to just ask yourself whatever it is that I'm doing, does it make sense or it's just all about the results? So I've taken a moment to pause and to just be able to take a breath and to evaluate truly. Truly, are some of these challenges because of myself or is it because of my environment? But one thing I always look up to is the ability for me to be able to find scripture, scripture which is the word of God that speaks to me at any given season to keep me afloat. And one of the things that, in the middle of it all, when I feel like I want to resign, when I feel like I want to give up, one of the things that I always remember is don't resign in defeat. Resign from the mountain, and I'll say that again. Don't resign in defeat. Resign from the mountain, and I'll say that again. Don't resign in defeat, resign from the mountain, because sometimes, when things happen and they're happening so fast, when you resign at that particular moment, it's almost like you're giving up and you're saying yes to what's happening around you, but you're not giving God a chance to fight for you. And so, even as I say this, I'm saying it to myself that don't resign in defeat, resign from the mountain. And from the mountain is from a point of victory, from a point where you surrender your time, your battles, your challenges, your process, the people, to God and, just like Moses and or any ruler therein, it is to allow God to fight for you. And so, for you, what are you meant to do?
Speaker 1:Ecclesiastes 10 4 says for gentleness and calmness, prevent your put. You put a stop to great offenses. Sometimes it's just good to just take a step back, to rest, to be gentle, to be quiet and to allow God to minister to you through the power of the Holy Spirit, to also allow God to fight for you these battles. And so today, I just want to encourage you to give God the battle. Give God that hard battle that doesn't seem to end, be it at your workplace, your business, your family. Give it to God and don't resign yet. And sometimes it's so hard, sometimes you just want to throw in the towel, sometimes you just want to sit down and cry. But turn to God. Don't resign in defeat. Resign from the mountain, resign on your own terms, resign when it's time is right. Resign when, not when people are pushing you out or circumstances are pushing you out, but when God says it is time to go and he's opened another door and you're able to resign from the mountain. So let us pray that God will help us to be able to stay the course, to be calm, to be patient and to allow him to fight the battle.
Speaker 1:Father, I just want to pray, oh God, this day, that indeed, father, that you will fight every battle for me, at my workplace, at my family, at my business. God Almighty, I pray that, indeed, this day, that you will arise as the mighty man of worship yourself, mighty and strong, o God, and by the power of your Holy Spirit, fill me up with calmness, gentleness, even in response to the things that happen. Give me the spirit and the tenacity to be able to wage war, allowing you to fight for me, but not on my turf, but on your turf. Not on my terms, but your terms. Oh God, father, help me to be able to hand over every battle to you, to be able to have faith as small as a mustard seed, oh God, to be able to give of myself to you, oh God, that you will fight for me and have this faith that you're fighting for me. Oh God, to be able to give of myself to you, oh God, that you will fight for me and have this faith that you're fighting for me.
Speaker 1:Oh God and Father, above all else, that I will not resign in defeat, that I will not throw in the towel, but rather I will resign from the mountaintop.
Speaker 1:When the time is right, when you have said it is the season and the time to move, then I will move.
Speaker 1:Let I say, like Moses, oh God, that if your presence does not go with me, I will not move. So, father, give me the ability to be able to stay in this place, in this cause, for this season, for such a time as this, enabled by the power of your Holy Spirit. Give me the spirit of calmness and gentleness and long-suffering, o God, to be able to see, through it all, that you alone are God and you are fighting for me. Father, let I be able to fix my eyes on Jesus, the author and the finisher of my faith, that, after all is said and done, I will say indeed, you are good and you are God, and you are the mighty man of war who has fought every single one of my battles, oh God. So, father, help me, guide me and be with me Above all else, take over every battle in my life and fight for me, because victory belongs to you. Jesus Lord, we thank you and we bless you. In Jesus' name, we pray amen.
