SPEAKER_06

Billy going down to yellow and brown. That's what's in. Let's go, Goot! That's what's in. Bright's gonna lose. Man, he's gonna cruise. That's what's in.

SPEAKER_04

Toto for the year has averaged 171 coming into this at bat. The lineup of the one-two pitch. Swing at a ground ball is short. Turner gloves it, steps his feet, throws to first, and it's the longest scoreless inning streak by a left-handed pitcher in the history of Major League Baseball. Christopher Stanchez 45 and two-thirds consecutive scoreless innings. And set a new mark for stop balls.

SPEAKER_00

That's what's in your Philadelphia Phillies with the help from one Christopher Sanchez who set a new Major League Baseball record for left-handed pitchers, going fifty. Scoreless, consecutive, scoreless inning streak. Zach Wheeler, who had a no-hit bid going into the sixth, and even Aaron Nola got in on the fun. As the Philadelphia Phillies sweep out Manny Machado and the San Diego Padres, but they also now claim the season series, but do it in a sweeping style. As the Phillies yet again have their way with the San Diego Padres. This has not been, I mean, I don't think people really view this as a rivalry between the Phillies and the Padres. It's not a historic rivalry. I mean, Philly's Dodgers is more of a historical historical rivalry than Philly's Padres. Philly's Giants even feels like more of a historical rivalry than Philly's Padres. Philly's Cardinals is more of a historic po uh rivalry than Philly's Padres. But at this present moment in time, it's a little bit of an underrated rivalry out there because of the Manny Machado and Bryce Harper sweep stakes back in 2019, because of the fact that obviously the Phillies were very much in for Machado in 2019. It has led to become, and because both organizations at the time were viewed as to be on the same trajectory or hoping to put themselves on that same trajectory with the Phillies signing Harper and the Padres signing Machado, and it all came to a head in the 2022 postseason. But every time these two teams seem to face each other in a series, it's always kind of a big deal. We're all kind of talking about what's going to happen, how are the Phillies going to match up against Machado? How are they going to match up against Tatis? What are the Padres going to look like? Because the San Diego Padres, to a, to a degree, to a degree, they have been a dangerous offense ever since Tatis was brought up to join Manny Machado in that lineup. Now that Jackson Merle has, you know, although these last two seasons, I mean, last year he struggled, and this year he's continued to struggle, but you think he's you have at least the thought he's going to figure it out. There's Gavin Sheets, who's having a really tremendous season. And, you know, he's a guy that I've actually liked for a little while, not thinking that the Phillies would ever sign him, although, you know, when it came to between Gavin Sheets and Max Kepler, I'm sure that's uh kind of a decision uh we'd like to have back now, wouldn't we? But when it comes to these two teams and how they match up, you know, in terms of the way that the Philly starting pitchers tend to pitch against the Padres. There's one that I've always highlighted that will go out there and pitch well. And that's Aaron Nola. I don't know what it is about the Padres. I know his brother used to be a catcher there, Austin, but I mean Nola's faced these guys so many times. It can't be, well, Austin gave him some hidden secrets here or there, and the lineup since his brother was in San Diego has changed so many times. So it's gotta be just a Padres thing. Nola tends to pitch well against them. And Tuesday he did it again. I mean, he gave up the two-run blast, but I can live with that. Sheets got you know, sheets went down and kind of kinda got it. I mean, it was a decent one-two pitch. It was a knuckle curve that he just kind of golfed. It was a l it was a low pitch, and he hit it over the right field seats. I mean, it was it was pretty impressive. And that was in the top of the third, and then in the bottom of the fourth, Bryce Harper steps up, 3-1 pitch against Vasquez, and he deposits a sweeper into the center field seats to tie us up at two. Meanwhile, Aaronola's pitching well. He went five innings, gave up two runs, four hits, doesn't get the win, had eight strikeouts. One of the things that you notice is, man, he had eight strikeouts. You know, that's that's good for Aaronola. That's i is it a sign of things to come? God, I hope so. I'm not gonna hang my hat on it, but I hope it's a sign of things to come, because the Phillies sure could use it. 95 pitches, we get to the bullpen. Alvarado cleaning the top of the sixth, bottom of the sixth. With runners at first and second, you know, you got Harper at third, Marsh at first, Marsh able to get a slap hit and the right, Harper goes first or third Marsh with a tremendous night Tuesday, going four for four. Well, Alec Boehm unfortunately grounds out into a double play. Now, he gets to run home, great, but there's a part of you that's like, okay, I kinda need you at this point on, you know, you're thinking to yourself, at this point on Tuesday, dude, you left the game hitting 206. I need you to start coming through in situations like this. I need you to start, and when I say coming through, small waves, not big waves. You know, you don't need the big three-run home or if you're looking to hit a tape deck home run. We'll talk about this in a moment, but small waves, not big waves, there, and boom, does get the run home, and the bullpen was money. Kirkering gives up two walks, or gives up a walk and a hit. I guess that's not really the the the best leeway into saying after saying that they were money, but I thought that they did their job well, allowing the defense behind them to come through. And it was actually kind of interesting, you know, how with one out and two on, it felt like Kirkering he fell behind 2-0 to song, and then he comes back and gets him looking on a fastball. And then Ty Fran steps to the plate, puts a sweeper in play to Turner, who flipped to start to complete that frame. Brad Keller would give you some uh excitement, but Alec Bohm maybe d I mean as some would say did his best Chase Utley impression, fielding that ball off the bat of Enduhar, nowhere to go, and he kind I mean sort of faked out Fernando Tatis as he threw over to Stott, who then threw over to Trey Turner, and had that uh out there at third as Tatis runs into one, and then Johan Duran in the ninth was money, and the Phillies pick up the first one of the three-game series. Now, Wednesday's start for Christopher Sanchez had every bit of a feeling as a big game in early June. And when I say that, I mean all eyes that night are what's gonna happen with this guy on the mound. Because he's back in Philly. There's you know, he just passed Grover, Cleveland, Alexander. It's probably the most impressive th it's okay, I'm just gonna come out and say it. It's the most impressive streak you are ever gonna see. You're never gonna see this again, folks. I mean, i not for the Phillies. I I'm just saying, it's a once-in-a-lifetime what you just witnessed, which you were just privileged to watch. And you know what I I learned this today, I didn't know this. But when you talk about his consecutive squirreless streak, it's not just his earned runs, it's total runs. Meaning it's just as much of on the guys behind him to make the defensive plays as it is him. So I think when we talk about those guys being able to also defend their positions behind him, that just makes it even more impressive from a team perspective. It's like throwing a perfect game, like Roy Halliday did, where the defense behind Roy also played a factor into it. That's what you witnessed with Christopher Sanchez, and that's what was so awesome about him going out there and doing what he did, and you'll hear from his teammates and Sanchez through translator uh Diego Daniello coming up in a moment. Now, the offense for the Phillies, like and might I say this every single time through the starts for Christopher Sanchez, you always noticed one thing. There was always one common denominator aside from the fact that when he would exit the game, there'd be a big zero there, and I guess the second thing would be his swing and miss stuff, his changeup was so electric, but more so than that. At the end of the first third of the game, I'm gonna give you like three seconds here to answer this question. What was the first thing you noticed, or what is something that you always noticed as Christopher Sanchez would come back onto the field for the top of the fourth? If your answer was the fact that it was a scoreless game, you're right. It was always scoreless, or at least it always felt like it was scoreless. I mean, the Phillies again could not push a run across for Sanchez. Against pitchers that it's kind of like, come on. Or, you know, I mean let's be honest, Walker Bueller, five years ago, big pitcher, possibly a Cy Young candidate, but I mean at this stage in his career, guys, I gotta ask you. I mean, what what what are we doing? Goes six innings, gives up one run on four hits, hell. If he if I knew he was gonna pitch like that last year, I would have said, hey, maybe, you know, let Andrew Painter get give him a couple months down there. We'll have Walker Bueller as our number five guy. Or hell, we'll go to a six-man rotation if I knew we would need the likes of Christopher Sanchez and Zach Wheeler to go seven, eight strong, and I'd be willing to pay him, you know, a contract to be the six, you know, six six pitch six-man rotation guy and let Tywon Walker uh take a hike. But Adole Scarcia, who came through and and we'll get to him in a moment, but he came through to plate the Phillies their first run, but then unfortunately Jackson Merrill, whom later on said that uh it was actually one of he felt bad, apparently. That they said that today on air. He felt bad at, you know, at the I mean, how do you feel bad, you know, that you helped your team produce a run, but you know, that that happened fork because I mean I think it also goes to show what respect teams have for Christopher Sanchez, but the amazing thing about Christopher Sanchez is the second it happens, you know, I kind of anticipated him to, you know, because I anticipated there to be a big roar, a big clap, like there was, and they did the fans did an amazing job. But I pictured him to be, you know, tipping the tip of the cap, you know, way you know, waving at the fans. Now, I think Don Mattingley said, you know, if it was like a five-nothing game, sure. But I think at that moment, and Christopher Sanchez said, I had to get the last out. You know, he wasn't buckling in. And he gets through the seventh, and then JT steps to the plate. And I kind of know I remember thinking to myself, if there was ever a time for him to send one out, it'd be now. He gets behind 0-2, then he battles back, battles back a little bit more, then gets a four-seam fastball up in the zone, up and away. His happy spot. I mean, if you put a ball up there and he gets a good swing on it, and this can be said for any major league baseball player, but especially him, he's sending it out. I mean, usually he's gonna go right, right field, he might go oppo, but he pulls this sucker in the Phillies lead two to one. And I thought that was nice because, you know, that's his that's that's Christopher Sanchez's battery mate. And then Kyle Schwerber, 01. Hey, it's June. Funny enough, first game of June, well, I guess second game of June, technically, we're not talking about Kyle Schwarber, we're talking about Christopher Sanchez in the starting pitching. But Schwerber played his first run in June first home run in June, um, as MLB.com has here Mr. June um as a thumbnail for his highlight. But then we get to Brad Keller. And Brad Keller, who had a pretty good road trip out there on the West Coast, uh, unfortunately comes home, and you know, we got some warmer weather now. Might it remind you of the West Coast, dude? Because gee whiz, I mean, come on, man. We gotta we wanna keep that win intact for the guy that's been busting his hump for the last couple weeks, don't we? And he almost gave it up. He really did. Ta you know, it began with a ta ground out by Taylor, then Tati singles, and it's like, okay, here we go. Now he's got a pitch out of the stretch. Then in Dohar singles, and it's like, here, you know, then we're getting to Machado. I don't know what was up with Manny Machado or what's been up with Manny Machado, but man, he is lost at the plate. He looked lost. Aside from one swing in this series, he looked lost. One swing in his last six games facing the Phillies. He looked lost. Strikes out against Keller, then he walks Gavin Sheets on four pitches. He wanted no part of Gavin Sheets. Then he plunks Xander Bogartz, run comes home, and then fortunately Ty France, who decided I mean, the sinker was m center cut, and he grounds it out to Stott, who turns it to Turner, to Trey. Then the Phillies go one, two, three. Top nine. It's Johan Duran time, and Johan Duran time, we get Merle to fly out to right. Bryce Johnson to strike out, Samad Taylor to strike out, and Duran picks up the 14th save of the year. Man, this guy is just electric. And you know what? A lot of people I saw so many times on social media, whether it was at the back end of last year or throughout this year, he's not a good closer, he's overrated, he's over this. I said, here's the how about this? I'm gonna have you sit down, and I'm gonna play you some of Hector Naris' highlights in 2018 and 2019. I'm gonna play you some of Brandon Workman highlights from 2020. I'm gonna have you watch Craig Kimbrell in 2023, in case you forgot, in case you weren't following then. I'm gonna have you even watch Jose Alvarado in 2021. And then I'm gonna have you sit there and talk to JT Real Muto, and you tell me if after all of that, if you still think this guy is overrated. People are so clueless, it's not even funny. It's not even funny. I th I think that there are a lot of smart people out there that I believe to be smart that have these opinions that I think are intelligent to some capacity individuals. But I gotta question certain people with statements like that. Is he gonna give up runs occasionally? Yes, yes. He's not Mariano Rivera. Brad Lidge was forty-eight for forty-eight. And even he gave up runs on the occasion. So I am tired of hearing about it from Phillies fans where that's regarded. But he picks up the save, and more important, the night is saved for Christopher Sanchez. And let's hear from JT Romuto, let's hear from Don Mattingley, and again, let's hear from Christopher Sanchez courtesily of Diego Daniela.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, I mean, that's that's the definitely the most special run I've been a part of, and uh I got a front row seat to it, so I probably had the best seat in the house. But uh, no, he just did exceptional for us. He's been that guy for years, and um, it's good to see how much recognition he's getting because this is how good you've got to he's been for long.

SPEAKER_02

He's caught a lot of guys over your career. Is there anybody that is dying for you to do it? Do it.

SPEAKER_11

I mean you have guys that do it for wrong. We have such conflicting on this thing. I can make multiple guys know uh we'll know when those guys are wrong and they just place it where they want it. Stancy's no different. Um his changeup is just unhidtable. You can the guy can be looking for three out of four of that, and he'll round out three times. So it's just such a special fit, so we're able to use it and manipulate the battery.

SPEAKER_07

But obviously, Sanchi puts himself in history books. Not only Philly's history books, but kinda historic. Alright, I think he's in the top five or the fifth guy now, longest by a left-hander. Um I don't know what else to ask. I know my vocabulary probably is not good enough for him uh right now, but it's just been amazing to watch.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna have a little time, you know, to embrace this too. Fully acknowledge it that it happened. Uh just uh as of right now, I still can't believe that it did. I still can't believe that we're in this position. So I think that you know, once the season's over and I'm home with my family, maybe that's when I start, you know, thinking about what actually happened here. I mean, uh it felt incredible, to be honest. Uh there was so much going on in my mind uh at that point, but uh uh as I said, I just try to stay calm and stay focused on what we had to do. So um, you know, try try to stay calm and focused throughout it. And uh, you know, it's uh I'll be forever grateful to this fans, uh to the city. Uh best fans in the world, best fans in uh in all three teams on MLB. And uh whether I'm here or not, they'll they'll forever be the best fans in baseball.

SPEAKER_00

Don Mattingly is saying his vocabulary is not strong enough to describe Christopher Sanchez. I my vocabulary is not strong enough to describe Christopher Sanchez or Zach Wheeler or whenever these guys go out there and consecutive. Consecutively at this point, go seven, eight innings doing what they're doing. It's unbelievable. It really is. It if it wasn't for the fact that the offense was so anemic, I'd be sitting here saying, Could they do it? Could this be the year? Now, with that being said, I also felt that way maybe last year, if you know the offense could just get going because of the rotation of and the law firm of Wheeler, Sanchez, and Suarez. And hopefully we can get Jesus Lazardo to click in better shape, be more consistent. We'll see him tomorrow night. We'll get into that in a moment. But first, we had to close out the season series against the Padres. And I think I speak for everyone when I say we wanted a sweep. And Zach Wheeler was very much inclined to give us that sweep. This is the best. This is one of the best. I'm not going to say the because I you know, 2021 he was pretty damn good. But this is some of the best stuff we've ever seen out of Zach Wheeler. And I mean, he's always good, you know, he's Zach Wheeler. He's a machine. He's a very underrated athlete here in Philadelphia. He really is, in my opinion. I don't think I don't think we praise him. I mean, I think Christopher Sanchez gets a lot of praise. And I and I do think Zach gets a lot. But I mean, in just in terms of the consistency, year in and year out, like, being having done this now, you know, knock on wood seven years here, he's just been unbelievable. But he's gotta go out there and shake off a rough start against the Dodgers. And in typical Zach Wheeler fashion, ho-hum, I'm just gonna go five and a third hitless. Alright, Zach. I mean, it doesn't really surprise me at this point. I've seen you almost have a couple no-hit bids. And the dude just goes out there and his fastball's ticking up. It's just a total, like, ho-hum, Zach Wheeler's dealing day. And the impressive part about it is the offense decided to score a little bit and get some traffic on. Now, granted, they're they were going up against Lucas Giolito, who we spoke about in the preview. It was just, I mean, come on. Stott with an RBI single. They should have gotten more a couple of times in this game. But Adolis Garcia with a blast in the bottom of the fifth. And they should have gotten more in in this inning, too, because you had the bad pick-off attempt on Trey Turner. Crawford scores, but then they leave Trey stranded. And there was a situation as well where there was the bulk, but Bohm gets to second, and then they move him to third, and he just stays at third. And it's like, guys. I don't know. I I don't I honestly don't understand why it is such a challenge for them to like keep the line going. You know, at times. It feels like it's like it's like pulling teeth. It's like, come on. You know, it really it's that it's it's that difficult? I mean, it was the bottom of the six. He singles the bulk, stock grounds out, he goes to third, JT strikes out, Garcia strikes out looking at a pitcher right down the middle. We go to the seventh, Gavin Sheets walks, Machado Homers. First time all series Machado and season series, Machado did anything. It's a 3-2 game. France grounds out for the first out of the inning. Then Murrell walks. Bogart grounds into a force, get the lead runner, didn't do horse strikes out swinging, and we go to the bottom of the seventh, and I think maybe a little disgusted, maybe. The Phillies offense strikes. Crawford walks, steals second, then advances to third. Schwarber can't get him home. But Trey picks Schwerberg up. For the first time, it feels like, okay, you know, we got someone picking someone up in the lineup. Then Trey using his speed picks up his twelfth steal. Harper singles. Trey gets to third. Marsh reaches on a fielder's choice. Another run scores. Boom. And this is what I talked about. Boom swing here. Small waves. Not big ones. Not trying to do too much. Just a little, you know, puddle jumper into the outfield. A one hopper into left, center, right. It doesn't matter. A run scores. I don't care. Neither should you. Because at this point, play for the name on the front, not the name on the back. Because that's the way the Phillies need to play. Now it's a 6-2 game. They scored over four runs for the first time, and it feels like I mean, I I don't even know. When was you know, the last time they scored six runs was what, Pittsburgh? Last game in Pittsburgh? It was like three weeks ago at the at this point. Feels like damn near a month ago. It wasn't. It was like two weeks ago. Um, coming up on Sunday, but it feels like forever ago since the last time they actually scored more than four runs in a game. And they're capped at six. But that's fine, you got six. We go to the top nine, and Jose Alvarado comes in, and instantly when Alvarado comes in, it's like, dear lord, because as I alluded to earlier, the guy throws the the he pitches the ball, but he doesn't know where the hell it's going. He's like Mitch Williams. Walks tie France. Then I actually think he cut he actually made a decent pitch on Merle. A pretty decent I mean, well, it it was a sinker, it did get a little too much of the plate. Um, but if he just got it a little lower, I think he would have missed the barrel of Merle's bat. And Merle hits a two-run blast, and it's a six-four game. Fortunately, Alvarado actually bears down, and one, two, three is the Padres the rest of the way. Now, he didn't pick up a save or anything, so I'm sorry, Alvarado, if you know you were looking to pump up your stats. I think you pumped up was your ERA, which is now five, nine, and one. But we're calm here. Philly sweep the series, sweep the Padres, sweep the season series against San Diego Padres, which obviously, you know, winning a season series against teams in your league is important because of what it can what it can mean moving on to the postseason in terms of ties and things of that nature. But what is also very important is Adoles Garcia picking up a couple of hits in this series, much better at bats, and here was Don Mattingley and Garcia after today's game.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I think he's gaining confidence, right? You you start to see him swinging the bat, obviously the home run, but then the line out the center he crushed. Um starting to see you know more rhythm, better at bats, so it's good to see that. You know, a credit to him and and Kevin and the guys down in the in the hitting room. Uh just keep him working and staying with him. Uh I think that's a thing. Guys struggle, and you want to kind of you seem there's a tendency to like shy away from them. Um, but you're gonna keep working and keep getting these guys better. Yeah, it's gonna be important. I I don't think we can think we're gonna win every game two to one or three to two. You know, we're gonna, you know, I think that's been probably written a lot and talked about a lot, us, you know, being able to score. But you feel like this club's gonna score, but you have to keep working. Um, but it's gonna be important for us to be able to attack on runs so we're not always having to use the very back end of the bullpen where we can use different guys and get everybody in the mix.

SPEAKER_10

I mean, yeah, I'm I'm feeling really comfortable right now. Uh working really hard on my strings and all my move and not getting that string on this. I mean um I suppose my little screen might just come with the game. Um getting hit of the lead. So that's what I've done today, like the features of the theme.

SPEAKER_01

What have you noticed with this turnaround at the time? What do you what do you see that's different?

SPEAKER_10

I mean I see that that confidence uh this group has um they focus on what they have to do to win games and they never you know they never think negative, you know, they just keep going every night trying to win same mindset every night.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so I'm not really sure if I'm at the point to be able to give Kevin Long his praise, if Garsti can keep this going. Like let's see where he is at June 30th. And sure. Let's see where Bohm is at June 30th. Let's see where Stott is at June 30th. Let's see how I'm feeling about those three. Let's see if JT's giving us a little bit more to work with, let's see where this offense is overall, and then I can give Kevin Long his praise. But right now, because let's face it. And I hate and I hate doing this because, you know, I don't want people to and I'm gonna throw Trey Turner in that bag, too. But we don't expect Brandon Marsh to be able to be this hot for the season. I mean I don't mean to sound like a curmudgeon, but we know that it's a 162-game season. The really hot guys are gonna get cold, the cold guys need to get hot. The back of the baseball card eventually needs to play through. Bohm needs to get going. Stott needs to get it going, although he had a pretty good series. Garcia does, Trey Turner, he has a hit streak going right now. But to be honest with you, he would need that hit streak to get to pretty damn far in order for me to feel really good about where he's at. I mean, he needs to get back to that approach he had last year. That was the best we've seen Trey Turner in a Phillies uniform on a consistent basis. And I'm saying you need to win a batting title. But dude, even if you're butts at first, you're one of the fastest guys in the bigs, you should be on second in about a minute because of the fact you should be stealing that bag. So, what's next for the Phillies? Well, what's next is you get a look at the American League Central again. And I almost say this with a smile because the American League Central is one of the mo is one of the funnest divisions to follow in baseball because you never know what's gonna happen. You think Cleveland's gonna stink, you think they're gonna be a bad team this year, and they're leading the division, and they spend no money. The White Sox two years ago, worst team in baseball. Someone said this today. The White Sox have 33 wins. They picked that up uh yesterday on uh Wednesday as I'm recording this Thursday evening. In 2024, they didn't pick up their 33rd win until August. August. Let that settle in for a second. And now you got the White Sox that are holding down a wild card spot, which is just incredible. I mean, the American League this year has stunk. But it's just something to be said for, you know what? That is one of those divisions. Now, I do I think any of those teams win a World Series anytime soon? No. No, and it's and it's a shame because there's a lot of really good talent out there in those divisions that really should be on World Series winning teams, and it's a shame they're not. But I digress. Will Venable in his first year as a skipper of the Chicago White Sox has been doing a heck of a job. Uh was with the Texas Rangers in 2023 and 2024. I beg your pardon, second year as the manager of the Chicago White Sox, he's doing a heck of a job. Um he had them going in a in a decent direction last year. You could see they were actually improving. Much like the athletics. They have a year or two where they're really bad, and then it looks like they're kind of turning the table. You know, the turning the tide on the organization. So good on the White Sox and good on the A's. But let's get to your starting pitching preview. Game one, you're gonna see Jesus Lazardo take them out tomorrow night. He's 4-4 with the 4-3 OER. Now, I would like to see Lazardo be just a tad bit more unhittable. I'd like to see him have some 1-2-3 innings. I I don't want to see traffic on the base paths as much because you can only flirt with fire before you get burned. I can only have you w, you know, have the bases loaded, nobody out, and get out of the jam. It's not gonna happen every time, right? So he's gonna bear down where that's regarded. Now the Phillies are gonna see Anthony K. He's 5-1 with the 3-7-7 ERA. He's faced the Phillies four times in his career. He started one, this was back in 2021, so there's only three hitters he would have faced in that game, Bryce Harper, JT Romito, and Alec Bohm. He's 1-0 with a 3-6-8 ERA in his career against the Phillies, and that started in 2021. He went four innings, not allowing a run on four hits and three walks. They lost set saw him back in twenty twenty-three when he pitched for the Mets out of the bullpen. And they got to him pretty well. But they haven't seen him in three years, so and he's a lefty. I don't know what we're gonna see from the Phillies offense. I'd love to see them build off of today. I'll just leave it there. Game two, we'll see Andrew Painter take them out. He's one and six with a five-seven four ER right now. A lot of people calling for Andrew Painter to be sent back down, to be this, to be that. You know, I'm saying I'm saying pump the brakes. Pump the brakes, give them a chance, let them figure it out. You know, let him first two months of the season. Sean Burke is going to be on the mound for the for the White Sox. He's two and three with the three-seven two ERA, made his debut in 2024, was a third-round pick for the White Sox some years ago. He's never faced the Phillies, which is a huge advantage to Burke. Game three, Aaronola takes him on three and four with the five-five five ERA. I need to see him do it against someone not named the Padres. Let's see that happen. And Dave Sandlin takes him on for the White Sox. He's one and one with an 8-1-0 ERA. He's never faced the Phillies. He came over in a trade with the Red Sox in uh in the offseason. I mean the pedigree is with the Phillies. I I don't know who to really give the advantage to. Because I know how the Phillies are when they haven't seen someone the first time. And it's a good White Sox team coming in. Now, this is also a White Sox team that will unfortunately not have Murakami for this series. At least it's not expected that he's going to come back. He's on a 10-day IL with a hamstring injury at the moment. So, with that being said, for the Phillies, it's June. You're four games over 500. There is nothing in the rule book, nothing at all, that says that you cannot build off of it. There's nothing in the rule book that says you can't build off of the good mojo you might have from scoring six runs the day before. Let's see if the Phillies can do just that. Because, in my opinion, I don't want to say, you know, that it's the end all be all, but winning at home is obviously hugely important. Protects home field advantage, and plus you should be winning your games at home. Let's just, I mean, I don't even need to, you know, to say that. Uh the Phillies 3-0 in this homestand. Let's keep it up. Uh they hold a wild card spot. Unbelievable. They were 9-19 at one point. And here they sit, 33 and 29. It's it's incredible with what the starting pitching has done. It's been just outstanding. And especially one Christopher Sanchez, and that will be the best note we'll leave you with on this Thursday evening. So thanks everyone for tuning in. Enjoy the weekend. Enjoy the baseball. Enjoy whatever you're planning on doing. As uh we said here, summer has offici I mean, because you know, hey, school's out, summer has officially, in a way, begun. So thanks for tuning in. We'll talk to you next time.
