What's going on, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome back into another episode of the Six Ten Podcast. I'm your host, Jay Hollyhan. The Philadelphia Phillies pull off a rare three-game sweep this season as they do it against the Minnesota Twins to salvage taking the road trip against the St. Louis Cardinals. Obviously, a tough, tough way to lose that series, losing two of three, especially Tuesday night's game. Luisa Rise with the bases loaded and unable to take a lead in that inning, or at the very least, tie the game and score a run. Then Wednesday's game with Wheeler on the mound. We came on here and talked about just kind of the way that the vibe of that team just felt heading in to the Field of Dreams game on Thursday against the Twins. But the Phillies, to probably everyone's surprise, they got it together. They took Thursday's game, day off Friday, traveled a little north up to Minneapolis, and then took Saturday's game in blowout fashion, then came from behind yesterday on Sunday. Now let's let's obviously start where everyone, you know, really wanted to be, which was watching the Field of Dreams game. It was an awesome production. Uh it obviously would have been tough to probably come on here and be sentimental about it had the Phillies lost, but obviously they took that game against Minnesota. Pretty cool that Major League Baseball came back to now they had to do a lot of renovations at the stadium. I I don't really don't understand how they did two games in 21 and 22 and then needed to shut it down for three years to do renovations, but whatever that may have been, you know, behind the scenes in terms of getting the work done needed on the stadium. However, it's cool that in twenty twenty-one they decided to uh go out to Iowa to do the Field of Dreams game between the White Sox and the Yankees, obviously. White Sox, Shueless Joe Jackson, Yankees, A, it's of all the teams mentioned in the movie, of course, the biggest brand, but B uh Ray Kinsella's dad, obviously growing up a Yankees fan and whatnot, so the two teams meet, they play in that uh series. And if you think about it as well at the time, uh in twenty twenty one, this is before uh every uh major league team were playing uh each other for a full season. It used to be you play one team from the division, if you you know, say the Phillies, you'd play an AL East team one year, or the AL East division, you play them one year, then the Central the next, and the West the year after. So obviously it made more sense to go with two teams within the same league, so Yankees and White Sox. Now they went with in 2022, they go with the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs, I suppose, both be being Midwestern teams. Obviously, the Cubs, of course, being a big name brand. You have the Reds there, they brought out the Griffiths, pretty cool moment. With the twins and the Phillies, again, you go with a team from the Midwest and then like the Yankees, but not as big of a brand, of course. You select the Phillies. Uh, not real. I mean, it was it was cool with the first year because you could see both teams obviously having a tie-in to the movie. There was no tie-in to the movie with the Phillies and Minnesota. I don't even think the twins were mentioned once in the movie, and I'm struggling to remember if there was even a player on the field that came back that had a Minnesota jersey on. I don't remember seeing anyone with a Phillies jersey on. I personally think it would have been pretty cool if you brought out the San Francisco Giants one year and maybe they play I don't know, maybe the the Dodgers in that game, you know, that would be a pretty cool thing. But judging as to where it's kind of going, they're going with the Royals and Red Sox. I'm not sure if it's something where Major League Baseball is just saying, hey, we don't really want to go with bringing two teams in from the West Coast to play a game. Now, what would be pretty cool is if they played a series there, but then you would be taking away a home series from one from one team's uh stadium from one season ticket package. So I could kind of see not going that route, but I think it would be cool if they could get the Giants and Dodgers to play each other for a three-game series. I think that'd be pretty neat. Uh, but obviously, and you know what would be cool is if you know the A's came out. Obviously, the Philadelphia Athletics, some history there, that would be pretty neat. Uh maybe bring the A's out. They're gonna have the Royals and Red Sox face next year again. You can kind of see where it's going. You're taking one team with a major market, playing a Midwestern team that could be a major market like the Cubs or just a smaller market, and I think it's cool to go with some of the smaller markets like the Royals, the White Sox, the Twins. It puts them on the national scale uh for a game. And, you know, who doesn't love the movie Field of Dreams? I took a poll on social media, asked a bunch of fans who your favorite movie is, baseball movie. Field of Dreams was by far the most responses. A league of their own got a ton, Bulldorum got a ton, the natural, major league. Uh I shouldn't say surprisingly, it's not my favorite, but for the love of the game, got a lot as well. Um, The Sandlot, another one. Bad News Bears. There were some so there were a lot of really good answers that people gave, and a couple of new movies that I'll probably have to check out as well. Another good one. If you've never seen it, check it out. The Rookie. Excellent baseball movie, true story. But The Rookie, I believe it came out in 2002. That's a good one. Another good one, Hardball. Uh, that stars, and it's not even really based on a true story or anything, but it's just a neat idea for a movie starring Keanu Reeves. Uh, so a good movie there. Michael B. Jordan actually has uh teenager in that movie as well, so I would recommend Hardball as well. Uh Moneyball got a couple responses too. Another solid one right there. So yeah. Now, let's get to the Field of Dreams game. First of all, it's a it was awesome to see the players come in from the corn. We're gonna play you some audio here from Don Mattingley, Kyle Schorber, and Aaronola in a moment. But seeing the players come in from the corn, if you notice, the camera, I I really was only paying attention to the Phillies players, maybe not so much the twins. But you saw, like, if you watch Luisa Rai's face, when he comes out from the corn stalks, his face lights up. If you look at Zach Wheeler, the typically stoic Zach Wheeler, he even had a little smirk on his face. Uh Kyle Schwarber seemed to really light up from it. Uh Harper, pretty serious, but I think he obviously with the the elbow guard, you know, with the corn field of dreams patterned uh baseball gear, Harper was into it. Trey Turner, they did an interview with him earlier. He was really into it in the interview. I think when he got on the field, maybe a little more serious. Now, what was actually pretty neat was, and the Phillies put this out later, was Derek Hill and Justin Crawford did a tour of the Field of Dreams house, and the lady said to them beforehand, Hey, I've got to go inside and just let the family know that lives here that you guys are coming through. That was something I think I knew, but may have forgotten, that there's people that actually live in that house and they keep everything, or at least when they have the Field of Dreams game there, they keep everything the same. So that's pretty cool, and and you know, obviously looking out into the backyard, and there's the original baseball field there. It was pretty neat. Christopher Sanchez, though, apparently didn't get the memo as to why the Phillies were playing there. Uh, there was a quote that he put out uh why are we standing in the middle of corn right now? I guess no one filled him in on the movie, probably on the team bus on the way over on the team plane. Someone should have put it on for him. But hey, after losing two of three to the Cardinals, maybe the last thing anyone wanted to do was watch a movie. Personally, I was pretty excited when they brought back the Field of Dreams game. Every year in 21 and 22, I really looked forward to watching, especially 2021. They brought out Kevin Costner, James Earl Jones. We were kind of post-ish COVID, the world was kind of going back to normal, so I was looking forward to some type of event like that, you know, that you could really look forward to. And uh obviously now after losing two of three to the Cardinals, so going back close to a week from now, wasn't too excited about the Field of Dreams game, specifically because it's my favorite movie and I didn't want the Phillies to ruin it. But to everyone's surprise, they didn't. Kyle Schwarber led the game off with a home run. I think it maybe give or gave the team a bit of a jolt. His solo blast into the corn. It's it it it's always cool. It's always cool when the camera pans to the cornfield for a home run because you expect to see fans there. And then you look and there's just it looks like Lancaster. Just yards of corn as far as the eye can see, and the sound. Really, what would be cool and I'm not trying to critique anyone here, but the announcers if they just announced that he hit it far and said nothing, when that ball hits the corn, it's one of the coolest sounds, just the shh and you just see the stalks move. It's one of the coolest things, uh, really, in in honestly, in baseball, when that does happen. But Schwarber sent it, 369 feet. Bryson Stott as the Phillies were able to get to Taj. Bradley put runners at the corners with one out. He had an RBI single, and in the bottom of the second, as Aaron Nolan got through the first, Luke Kiesel had a homer of his own to make it 2-1, but then in the top of the fourth, Schwarber with another one to deep right, hit off the glove, actually hit off the glove of Kieshel uh in right field to make it four one. Uh the Phillies added on with a Bryce Harper RBI single. You knew he wanted to get in on the fun. And then in the seventh, Brandon Marsh with the two-run blast, seven-one files, Aaron Nola threw five innings, nine strikeouts, three walks, allowed to run on five hits, and then the bullpen clean frames from Brooks Rayleigh, Jonathan Boland, Ryan Kirkring, and then Johan Duran against his former twins team. Actually had a game-ending double play as he doubled them up off of uh line out and then over to first for the game ending double play. Pretty neat, and Kyle Schwarber, Don Mattingley, and Aaron Ola on the night.

Yeah, a little surreal. I didn't really think about it before that, but walking out was really cool. A lot of the guys I know, so it was it was nice to see those guys in the back uh before we came out. A lot of the few guys I played against, uh a lot of guys that I know actually coached uh out in LA with Andrew, uh Jeff Kent, a few guys like that. Uh, but it was definitely good to see the boys.

We were talking about it walking over here, just how uh the experience was from when we got here, having the opportunity to go over to the movie set, uh, walk around, see it. We all watched the movie as kids growing up, so it's really cool to be able to uh you know see exactly where it was and just kind of the whole ceremony of it, too, where we walk out of the corner, you have the opportunity to meet the Hall of Famers before you walk out. Uh, you're able to walk through the corn and and take a peek at the big board and kind of visualize the movie all over again and uh it ends up being you, so it's kind of a uh a little pinch, right? A little reality pinch, but I think it was really cool just to shake a lot of the guys that haven't got the meet before, just to shake their sick their hand and introduce who I am and just say how big of fans we are of them. Um these guys all laid the groundwork for us before uh we even thought about playing baseball for while we were growing up. Uh yeah, just to be able to meet them and also say a lot of the familiar faces as well. Uh some guys that might not see in a in a in a while. Some of the Cubs guys uh would come around back when we were in camp there, but uh it was just a really cool opportunity for us, and you know, it was like the the icing on top to be able to say those words right before the game and have them come out of the corner.

I I wasn't able to pitch at the Little League World Series games uh before. This was kind of one of the um I guess outside of the big league stadium that we played at that I hadn't pitched at. So uh it was nice to pitch, it was a really nice pitch here. It's a beautiful, beautiful field, beautiful scenery. Fans were great. It was really cool to check this one off, and uh definitely we'll look back at this later on uh in my career and after I'm done.

Why it took Major League Baseball so long to play a game there is beyond me. I I personally wish they would have done this during the 2000s. I mean, I think kind of post steroid era would have been pretty cool to have had, but we have it now, and it's one of the beauties of summer. Uh it's one of the beauties of just I I mean, even opening day. You know, you hear people all the time, like when opening day comes around to kind of get into the season the night before, people put on baseball movies. I mean, I heard people call into radio shows, they said, man, the one movie that I watch before every single opening day is Field of Dreams. Actually, I was doing that for a couple of years. Fun fact. Watching Field of Dreams before first game of the year just because it got you into the baseball season. And it's such an awesome movie. It's nostalgic. I could go on and on about Field of Dreams and and all that, but really love that Major League Baseball did that, and thank God the Phillies won. Now, Aaron Nola went out there and pitched extremely well. I don't want to take anything away from him because he has had a pretty solid second half thus far. But the one thing that really did play into his favor was there was no ABS system. So I think moving forward, for Aranola, it's kind of important to remember that. The fact that also JT is terrific at framing. And I think that kind of goes hand in hand with those two working off of each other. Now, give credit where credit's due, though. Aaronola was able to pitch you five innings of one run ball, and that was big for the Phillies to get that sour taste out of their mouths of losing the last two to the Cardinals, and especially losing the last two series in the way they did, four out of their last six, all that stuff, so a good win. And then following it up Saturday with a blowout. You know, for the first time. I mean, they won seven and one a couple days prior, but Phillies had a laugher, which was nice to see. It was also nice to see, and of course, we played his walk-up song. I don't know how many times we're gonna get to do that with him wearing the red pinstripes, but Alec Bohm, five for five game. Couple doubles roped in there. Uh, obviously great to see his batting average tick up more and more. We'll get into more on him uh Sunday. But Jesus Lazardo was just as advertised on the road. Terrific outing from Lazardo and the Phillies in the fifth. So they played a run in the second, JT sack fly. They get the bases loaded, and Luis Arise, five-pitch walk, two-nothing, Alec Bohm, RBI single, three-nothing, Edmundo Sosa, two-run single, five-nothing, and Bryson Stott off a lefty, three-run blast, eight-nothing fillies, and they never looked back. And uh JT added on with another sack fly. Lazardo won six and two-thirds, McFarland got out there to pitch an inning and a third, put Chase Shugert in there for an inning, so the bullpen was able to get another day's rest, and that was fine because obviously had Andrew Painter going the next day. But the Phillies able to pull off the 9-1 win, and then that took us into Sunday with a chance to sweep. Well, it didn't look good. It really didn't look good. I mean, it looked pretty bad. Andrew Painter goes out there and gives up a grand slam early, and it kind of had everyone going, man. I know they've they just took two from Minnesota, they've won this series, but if you're scoreboard watching, you got the Diamondbacks losing, you got the Padres taking on Cleveland, San Diego going for the sweep, uh obviously standings on the mind, wild card on the mind, every game mattering at this point, you gotta get a win. And the Phillies found themselves down 5-0 heading into the sixth, and uh it was not looking good. Was looking pretty bleak for this game. Not so much for the season, you know, because you are coming home, and hey, this was a positive positive series against Minnesota. I I really think, by the way, one more thing on that Field of Dreams game I think that could have been used as a reset. Because one thing I you could argue it did, as I mentioned, everyone's faces lighting up coming out of the corn. It could have been a reminder that, hey, take you back to the days of when you were a little kid playing this game. It's a game. It's not, you know, i don't make it like it's a you're making millions of dollars, but if you just take the three hours that you're on the baseball field, it's a game. It's a kid's game. So go back to that feeling of when you were a kid, and I think they did that. Then I think Sunday, they got back to that. Kyle Schwerberg led off with a walk, Bryson Stott followed up with a single, great at bat by Stott. Dean Kramer stifled them through five. But then in the sixth, he fell apart as he walks Harper and then Luisa Rise comes up. Similar moment from Tuesday, but this time a run crossed. And RBI ground out to Cody Clemens, and when Cody got to that ball, I was like, oh my god, it's he's gonna turn two. But fortunately, Harper was able to bust it to second. Schwarber got home in time. RBI ground out, Phillies get a run, and then Alec Bohm blasted his fourteenth home of the year, a 2-1 pitch, a splitter way up in the zone, and he muscled it 408 feet, 105.4 off the bat. It gets into the twins' bullpen, and the Phillies, who are already well into or will now get into their bullpen, I should say, they bring in Tim Mesa, he pitches a clean sixth. Phillies offense, unfortunately, unable to do anything in the seventh, but then Kirkering pitched a clean seven. Let's, you know, hold our breath there. Then we get to Andrew Morris in the eighth. And in the eighth, Bryson Stott leads it off the ground out. Not the way you want to start things, but then Harper singles to center. And then Luis Arise with a little excuse me double, ground rule double into left, puts runners on second and third. Now they pinched Rand for Luis Arise. There was the injury in left field with Austin Marson Austin Martin, rather, Ryan Kreidler came in for him. Um or rather Cody Clemens came in. For him, and uh Kreidler, I believe, went to second base. So bit of an injury delay, and then the Phillies take out Luis Arise and put in Derek Hill. We'd find out after the game. Nothing wrong wrong with a Rise. Don Addley just said wanted to win the game. Okay, I don't I mean I think Ar'ise could have won you the game, but whatever. Uh Alec Bohm, though, another opportunity, he comes through. A little more of what we're used to seeing out of Bohm, especially in his younger days. He gets jammed on a fastball, but he muscles it and just places it into right. Honestly, this was kind of the Alec Bohm that we saw from his rookie year, his second year, just kind of things that would fall it seemed to fall for him. And that's exactly what happened. He was late on it, but he got enough of it that he was able to drop it in over the first baseman, and then actually fielding error by Luke Kieshel led to Bohm being able to get to second. A run scores, now it's unfortunate, Hill was unable to read the ball well off the bat. Of course, you don't want to possibly get doubled up at second, but he takes third. They intentionally walk Marsh to get to JT. JT, who had pretty good bat at bat going, seven pitch at bat, but then pops out in foul territory to Royce Lewis. Wasn't able to come through. But give credit to Brian De La Cruz because he was. Two runs single into right, little excuse me shot to right field, 83 off the bat, hit it where they ain't. Two runs single, Phillies take a seven-five lead. Jonathan Bolin locks it down in the eighth, and a terrific play by Bryson Stott. So they take a rise out. But the one thing I will say about that, the foresight to then put in Bryson Stott, Stock getting to that ball to make that play to Edmundo Sosa. Now Royce Lewis did come off the bag, but hey, I don't know if Stott, or I don't know if a rise gets to that ball. Stock getting to that ball in the grass and shallow center. Terrific job. And a great play to get the runner out at second. But the Phillies had to work their way through the ninth. When they put in Johan Duran, the former Minnesota twin. He gets Keishel to strike out. Now he had to work for it. Six pitch at bat, but hey, the first out is huge. He then walks Victor Carantini. One out walk. Don't love it. Then Kalen Culpepper gave him the business for nine pitches. Two, a broken bat single in the left. Second bat he broke in the at-bat. Runners at first and second. They bring in Ryan Jeffers to pinch it for Ryan Kryler, and he gets ahead three-o. At this point, I'm going. This is just like Miami all over again. Phillies fell behind early. They come back late. They get a 7-5 lead. Literally the same situation. And he can't get you three outs. He's missing. He's all over the place. Down 3-0. Jeffers takes a call strike. Fastball 1-0-2. Takes another call strike at 101. Fouls off a fastball. And then swings through 105 or 100.5 mile per hour fastball two outs. And then he goes after Buxton. And they had a great plan for Buxton. Going away with because here's the thing with Buxton. Pitch him away. Look at his stance. He's straight up, especially two outs in the ninth, you know he's looking to be aggressive. You put anything low and away, he's not getting to it. Now I know it's his happy spot. I mean, he does hit well away. I mean, with the way that he stands, though, if you can fool him low and away and get him to fish, he's the perfect guy to go after. And that's what JT called for. And a great job by Duran to execute. And we could all take a sigh of relief as the Phillies win 7-5 and they sweep the twins. Now after the game, Don Mattingley spoke about Johan Duran in the ninth.

Yeah, he kept going. Obviously, he made some big pitches there with didn't really like getting the Jeffers and Buxton there. But yeah, obviously kind of bear down and you know the kid put a pretty good bat on him. Culpepper breaks two bats and gets a hit, uh, threw some pitches and had a bat. Uh the walk. Don't love. Uh obviously you don't like any of your guys walking guys late in the game.

Uh, but him hanging in there was huge. Bottom line is he got you through it, but he really has to bear down. Or he has to execute. He bared down, but he's got to execute early in the ninth. If he's gonna be the closer that we know he can be, it's gotta be one, two, three. And you can't have these excuse me singles and all that stuff. Now, granted, sometimes that just happens, and it's it is what it is, but you gotta be able to get the swing and miss. His braking stuff just isn't moving the way that it felt like it did last year, and the way it did at times earlier this season. His braking stuff has to be on point because he can, I mean, that's what makes that splitter, that 102 mile per hour fastball, all the more deadly is when that breaking stuff, that off-speed stuff, is working as well. Now, he gives up five runs. But give credit for Andrew Painter to hanging in. And here's what Mattingley said about Paint.

It seemed like everything was up. Break ball up, change up up. Um, kind of didn't really look like he was commanding the ball at that point. Um really happy really with the way he responded after that because I'm getting through five shoots today. Come on, we talked about these back out. What do you think is behind this Charles the first end? Oh, yeah. It's kind of everybody really in general. In general. Like starters, you always worry about that first inning. Like then we get off the whole end of the game because now whatever it is. That first inning is always you always kind of fit into see where that goes. We have the file a couple times for it. Give us a chance to score. Uh finally we break through, you know, big home run by Bomb. Um, you know, just all of a sudden the game has changed, right? And then you're into your back end guys, and you're just trying to hold it there and give your team a chance to score.

Bottom line is he hung in. Earlier in the year, I don't think he would have hung in. Now, what was interesting, what you heard about Mattingley was, well, to me, because the way he puts it is, well, to me, I liked seeing him stay in there and battle through. Now, earlier in the year, and this is where you can kind of sense the new age of baseball doesn't really jive with Mattingley. Because earlier in the year, Mattingley said, when it was asked, hey, do you think they need to skip his spot in the rotation after, you know, I think two bad starts in a row, Mattingley was like, no. It's the only way the kid's going to get better is if he keeps going out there. Now the problem was with where the Phillies were, we don't have time to wait and see. The other problem was there wasn't anyone really coming up in the farm system or stashed any you know, veteran down there, or we had any long man like we had last year with Walker Bueller, who could come in and you know fill that spot in the rotation when need be. But I think there's the reluctancy when he fell apart early yesterday with Painter, there's a reluctancy of, well, we got a fresh bullpen, let's get to the bullpen, let's put those guys out there and and then let's you know come back in the game, we'll we'll just make it a bullpen game. He phases the guys one time through, and that'll be that. They let him go for five innings, and he figured it out. He gave up the solo homer, but he figured it out, and he you know the bullpen wasn't taxed as much. Now, he only got to the fifth. It would have been nice to see him get through six, but he went five and the bullpen did its job. So overall not great, but you gotta come away with it with with something, some type of positivity as he moves forward through his first season in the majors. Now, coming up next, three-game series with the Marlins. If that trip down to Lone Depot Park a couple weeks ago, getting swept by the Marlins, if that didn't piss this Phillies team off, I don't know what will. They should have taken two of three from them from the Marlins. Hell, they should have swept them. They should have swept them. Durron should have closed out that game, game one. The offense shouldn't have gotten shut out and lost that game one to nothing, should have picked up Nola in game three. A 6-0 lead blowing that is inexcusable. They let the Marlins back into the season. Marlins are now three games over 500. They're 6-4 in their last ten. Phillies are also 6-4 in their last 10. Phillies are a game up on the Diamondbacks in the wild card. They're deadlocked with the Padres, but because of the tiebreaker, Phillies have the fifth spot in the wild card. You look at the Cubs right now. What are they, five games up on the Phillies? Cubs are sitting pretty. I've talked about the last couple times. The games the Phillies have just given away. They literally could be hanging out with the Cubs up there at the top, duking it out for that top spot. Instead, they're trying to stay alive. Now, the Padres have gotten hot. Diamondbacks have gotten hot. Oh, the Marlins have even pushed down there. But they they're still staying alive. The Cardinals have even stayed alive. We know that. In this series with the Marlins, the Phillies have to take care of business. The Phillies at home are 32 and 30. Marlins on the road are 26 and 36. Phillies need to take care of their business at home. Here's what's coming up. Game one tonight, Christopher Sanchez on the bump, 15-4 with the 2-5-4 ERA. He's been not as dominant in the second half, but with Christopher Sanchez, the way he's pitched at his best so far in the second half, you'll take it. Now he hasn't faced the Marlins this year, which is interesting, but last season he gave up two runs on 14 hits in 22 innings and three starts with 15Ks and no walks. He's 10-1 with a 1-4-1 ERA in 14 starts at home this season. So that's a positivity. Jason Young will take the mound for Miami. He's 6-7 with a 4-4-1 ERA. Gave up a run on five hits and five and a third innings with six strikeouts and no walks versus the Phillies in one start this year. He's three and four with a five-three five ERA and seven starts on the road. Game two, I mean, need I say more for tonight. Game two, Zach Wheeler. Ten and four with a two-eight nine ERA. Listen, I don't know what's going on with Wheeler. I was listening to the radio the other day, and someone was talking about I believe a possible groin strain. Now when I got home from work and I'm listening to this, I'm going, wait, whoa, what what the hell? I'm like, does he have a groin strain? I look up on the new pure speculation. Why we're talking about pure speculation is beyond me. I mean, I you know, it was I don't know if it was some type of a trainer in the past. I just turned it on, it felt like an interview I was listening to. I have absolutely no idea what the deal is, but I'm just passing that information along. One, because if it's not what's being put out by the Phillies, because I've heard nothing from any beat writer or anything like that that that is the case, why that's put out there is just nonsense. But the fact of the matter is Wheeler hasn't been that great, and it started when he faced the Marlins on the road, and he only went three and two thirds innings a couple weeks ago. He's given up six runs on 11 hits and 15 innings with 22 strikeouts and six walks as a hole versus the Marlins this year. He's four and two with the three one nine ERA in eight starts at home, but I don't know what we're getting to get out of Wheeler tomorrow, but hopefully it's gonna be vintage Wheeler. Going for the Marlins is listed as TBD. It's a possible bullpen game, but it's Tyler Phillips' spot in the rotation. Of course, the former Phillies pitcher from Lumberton, New Jersey. He's 3-6 with the 3-6-5 ERA this year, and he's given up 10 runs on 13 hits and 12 innings with 12 strikeouts and five walks in two starts and a long appearance out of the bullpen versus the Phillies this season. He's 1-0 with the 5-9-0 ERA and six starts and seven appearances out of the bullpen on the road. He faced the Phillies on the road earlier this year, and the Phillies got to him. Now, if it's him tomorrow, hopefully that stands. But then game three, it's the rematch of Aaronola and Sandy Alcantara's 1-0 pitcher's duel from earlier in the second half of the season, post-all-star break. Aaronola's 4-9 with a 5-3-3 ERA. That ERA has continued to dwindle down. I don't know. I'm seeing Cy Young award. Maybe it's just me. No, but seriously, Aaron Nola has looked better. And hopefully he's gonna go out there and give you five innings, six innings of just three runs or less. That's all we're asking. He's allowed to run on ten hits and eleven and two thirds innings and two starts with nine strikeouts and three walks versus the Marlins this year. He's 0-4 with a 6-2-3 ERA and 12 starts at home. Now he's seen them twice and he's stifled them through twice. But third time, it's gonna be tough. That offense is gonna need to get to Sandy, who's 13-7 with a 3-4-3 ERA. Really? Sandy Alcantara in the last couple seasons, post-Tommy John has had a tough time. This year, though, he's he's actually pitched really well. He's given up two runs on 12 hits and 13 innings, so two starts against the Phillies this year with 11 strikeouts and two walks. He's seven and four with a four-oh eight ERA and fourteen starts on the road. Folks, it it's sitting right there in front of them. It's sitting right there for the Phillies to go out there and take two of three. Let's see if they can do just that. Now the Diamondbacks and the Padres, those are the two teams that are that we're caring about right now. We got obviously the Cubs ahead of us, but take care of business and focus on the teams that are around you. You got the Diamondbacks going up against the Boston Red Sox in Boston. We know the Red Sox, they've been the talk of Major League Baseball throughout the summer. Those two teams will be squaring off this week. The Padres are taking on the Mets. Now the Mets, they've actually played some pretty good baseball after the All-Star break. We don't like to see the Mets win on here. But when it helps us, we like to see the Mets win. So let's see if they can do that against the Padres and then the Cubs in a rivalry series, crosstown rivalry series, against the Chicago White Sox, they'll face off. Obviously, the Cubs are not the main priority, but they're ahead of you right now as you sit fifth and they sit fourth. So obviously it'd be nice for the Phillies to take care of their business, get some help on the outside, you improve, you see a little wiggle room between the Padres and Diamondbacks, a little breathing room there, and then try and dwindle that lead with the Cups. But bottom line is folks, Phillies need to get back on track. The division is as of right now, seven and a half games back, who cares? Focus on what you can focus on, take care of what you can take care of, and hopefully the Phillies do just that. Here's to hopin'. As we will now bid you ado.
