In this series I'm joined by Steve Piper, who formally owned a well known plumbing company called The Pied Plumber. Steve sold that business a number of years ago, when he decided to focus on further developing the quoting program they used so that other companies could benefit from it also. He and his wife Penny now run Plumbing Profits, where they teach plumbers how to implement the 'flatrate pricing' model into their businesses.

In the previous episode, we spoke about some of the Myths associated with flatrate pricing and in this podcast, we talk more about the pros and cons.

Obviously every business is different and has different requirements. In this episode, Steve fills us in about some of the advantages and some of the disadvantages of flatrate pricing. It was interesting, but not very surprising to hear that many of the problems that arise with flatrate, or upfront pricing, comes as a result of technicians taking advantage of situations.
