I enjoyed it. It's, it's a lot of things going on. In front of the scenes, behind the scenes, during the scenes, It was an action packed episode. And I just, I love bleach. What can I say,

Well, yeah. I had to like go back over it a second time because you know. I missed some things the first time around, I was, I was looking at it and was like, wait, he said what he did, what? Oh

Okay, so, so the name of this, the title of the episode is March of the Star Cross.

Dani

Since we've seen the episode, what does that mean to you now? Does it, does the title become any clearer?

Dani

I just took it as I guess destiny's, know, in motion

because we, we did get a lot of hits. Hence this episode of. of things that, were put in action from like in the past.

and that makes perfect sense because the episode before was Foundation Stones

and Now and Foundation Stones means to me. Since Ebern immediately died, he was destroyed. That's death. And this is the March of the ill fated. This is like two people destined for, two parties destined to die. Destined to cross. I guess it's argumentative, whether it's Quincy's and Soul Reapers

So I guess we, we'll kick it off with the opening scene. And from what I remember, Quilge was peering into Ichigo's eyes with this slight grin like you are here. And they were defeated Arrancar's below them. I think those were Aizen. Were they Aizen's assistants, these was his two assistants, right?

wasn't it Tres Bestias too, I think.

And that's a shame because those are Holly Bell's Fracciones, and we thought that they were going to really kick some butt. But Ichigo steps in and you know,

it's just, they keep giving us all these different examples of just how powerful these Quincy's are, and I think that's just was another, clear example. Like, okay, we're dealing with like powerful entities here,

Of course, of course. It's like the Fracciones was just a step of, of the Sternritters or Quilge, saying, okay, these guys are powerful, but I trumped them by leaps and bounds. That's how strong I am.

Right.

So they were stepping stones, they were exactly what they are, but during their exchange Ichigo kind of figures out Hey, are you guys Quincy's? Right?

Dani

Yeah, a, we got another confirmation that, you know, I mean, it was obvious. I mean, we're on episode three,

we have another confirmation that that's who we're dealing with. We're dealing with Quincy's.

and Quilge does say, Ichigo, you were labeled a special threat. And from last episode we know that there are a couple special threats, but they think Ichigo is a special threat and he needs to take care of care of him. He needs to defeat Ichigo. And that's when

Quilge releases his. Sword and bow. I don't, I don't know. What, or maybe it wasn't revealed yet, but he releases his Exige and his power and it looks pretty cool, right?

It surprised me a little bit, but it does look super cool.

so I guess the next scene is captain, he, I guess, to the audience acknowledged, okay, we're dealing with Quincy's, and they talked a little bit about that, and he says, let's prepare for an attack. Okay.

Dani

yeah, we're in the squad one barracks

Giovani

Right. And they were preparing for a attacks and the Quincy said, give us five days and we'll be back. But what enemy announces the exact time they're gonna attack nobody.

Dani

Right.

Giovani

So Yamamoto not falling for that. and that's where we are. It's like we know the attack will happen. We don't know when it is on the Quincy King's time only he, he knows.

Dani

Right on the horizon. But I mean, just based off of what's been happening, I mean, they have to know that like it's down to the wire in terms of when it's coming. So if you're not prepared already, it's probably already too late,

Right, and, and Yamamoto seems, he seems really aggressive now because a lot happened. His assistant for many, many million, hundreds of years is dead. and the squad. One barracks has a big hole in it that he burnt. He burnt through it, and still nobody is dead. Except Soul Reapers,

Isn't that crazy that all that has happened and. He did not take down a single person, a single Quincy.

so. all that happened before, before the intro even took place. We get the intro usual intro, and then they opened back up to fighting. Is it, what's, what's his name? Yes.

right? He is Sternritter J If you gimme a second, I can look that up. I don't have that I don't have that available now, but I think he's the jailer, but I don't know. keep talking. I can look that up.

Oh, I think that's, I think that's what he's referring to himself as if I remember. And then Orihime. So he's, Ichigo is fighting Sternritter J and Orihime and Chad shows up to back him up.

yeah. He's fighting Ichigo and Orihime and Chad shows up as backup,

Ichigo throws Nell to Orhime and say, fight with holding her Nell still on the seed with Ichigo. so Orihime puts them, her Chad and Nell in like this protective circle or bubble right. as the fight takes place. and K seems like he's just testing ICO's strength. He doesn't seem like he's trying to dominate the fight. He just want to see this special threat, which is Ichigo Kurasake to see how strong he is, how quick thinking he is, how elusive and

Ichigo makes this statement. He says, your ability seems to be stronger than Uryu and Quilge says that's impossible. Like how can that be? He makes this cool statement like, speak to silver, but silence is golden. Right? Almost like I know something you don't know about Uryu well know, that had my eyebrows up cause it just put a lot of questions out there. Has he been holding back the whole time? or is it just we don't, we think we know Uryu's history, know, maybe the family's a lot more powerful than we think they are. But then right in there, and I don't know where this is because first he gets he gets information, someone calls them and says, Quilge is about to go down in social society. So Quilge knows that social society is about to get attacked. Ichigo does not have this in information, but he does. right. So he continues to talk to him, and then he says, my Vollstandig is a lot different from Uryu's. So it appears like what the current Quincy's are using is the successor to the older version of the Vollstandig, that Uryu is using, which I think is just Quincy's fancy technology. But that also raised more questions like, okay, why doesn't he use it? I believe, and I don't know this, but his teacher and is that his. I don't know. It was think in the anime. They had this little, little guy who was teaching teaching Uryu the correct way, and he seemed more of a friendlier teacher trainer than the Quincy king or any sternritter. He seemed like a likable guy and he seemed human. These Sternritter's don't really seem human you know. Yeah. but Vonstandig and Quilge unleashes his wing figure and it looks really cool, right? that's the halo. You know big Halo over head the steely yeah. I, I was impressed because he, he referred to it as his, all these words that I'm trying to like, not mispronounce his like letzt stil. Yeah, the stil, Yeah. So that was his final state, right? I'm not sure they have a few states, but I think that's his, that's his equivalent to a bankai, I think he said it was like his final state with the, the halo and the, the wings. a, like some kind of avenging angel or something. Correct. I feel like in that segment, they dropped a lot of like A information about Quincy's Right. it's like, wait a minute, huh? What what's going But just in my opinion though, you don't fight a Quincy. in Hueco Mundo and you don't fight them in social society, but Quincy's have this ability to absorb and manipulate reishi. Right? And reishi is ever more present in soul society and Hueco Mundo cuz everything is created from reishi in those two areas. Not Earth, but Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. So, they are really powerful there. Okay, Moving on to the, next scene where we get the Quincy King. Uhhuh And he is ready to launch his invasion. He's ready to go. they're at the doorstep. Yeah. He's rallying the troops. and like I said, he already let Quilge know it's about to go down. Like we're gonna take out as many soul reapers as possible. You have one job to do. Keep Ichigo busy. Defeat him. Capture him if you can. Right. So that's what happens. This sets up the big fight scene between Quilge Quilge can fly. He has a sword. He has arrows. He uses his Vonstandig and has his steely. He is a bad maam. Jamma. Ichigo's in trouble. So he his Sega, his what's, how do I pronounce this? Getsuga Tenshou I think we're bad Oh God, right, right. but he, yeah, Getsuga Tenshou getsuga tenshou and misses it right. It doesn't work, but Tres Bestia, I guess is, we thought they were down and out, but they're back. They're not beaten yet, and so they managed to unleash a monster that they created, Right. They have a chimera. They use parts of their body to create a, they fuse together the left arms to do it. so do you remember the last time we seen this monster, I don't remember. No. the fake Karakura town arc? and I don't think they, I don't remember if they sacrificed body parts. And this is Mila Rose, Emilou and Sung-Sun. I didn't know, I don't remember if they used their limbs to create this monster, but we've seen this monster before. Very powerful, very erratic. And he catches Quilge off guard and knocks the crap outta him like jaw east, body west, and he goes flying off You think this guy's in trouble, right? That's what it's looking like, it looks like, you know, they've rallied themselves and now okay. We were counting them out and they're not all the way out, And as a, as a watcher. As a viewer. You know, I come down a little bit. I'm a little anxious. I'm worried about Ichigo, Orihime, and then I see this big chimera and I, okay, I feel good. Now relax, Nell's going to be okay, Well, they still, yeah, cuz Orihime still has her and Chad and Nell in the, in the protective bubble right? that's still going. And you know, you don't see many, many of the Quincy foot soldiers around, so it's just Quilge doing his thing. So I'm coming down off my worry. We're in good shape now. Right. And I have to say that animation still looks really, really good. I feel like I always have to point it out that I guess it's the cinematography of it, the graphics. Especially when, when they they did the Quilge's final state with the angel, right that looked really good. and they captured Quilge, Quilge's like demeanor. They capture it very well. Like he is chilling. He is a chilling opponent. I just, I just, I love bleach and I love this art, so I'm very happy. Oh yeah. One other note, panel by panel in the manga, they do such a good job and I hope that Oh my goodness. I forgot you're a manga reader now I, I'm a manga, but at, at the same time, I want them to explore a little bit more like manga are the pages. Feel free to add more to it, to to give us more story. Give us what we is this, how is this story so far going in the manga? Like, is it, because I know like we're getting, you know, it's picking up speed right now, so it, it's, it's getting a little fast paced. It's getting crazy. The fights are breaking out. So how is it comparable to the manga? Well, the, the manga just gives you more details. Like for, for instance, they let me know what this army's for and there's certain, there's certain armies. The Hueco Mundo army is different from the army that's invading Soul Society and they give a lot more tidbit information that you just might not know as a casual. Watcher viewer, but, but pound for pound, it's pretty, this is what you want. This is what you're expecting. Okay. All right. So then we flash to Uryu is in the library, I'm assuming, in his home, looking for information on the new threat of these Quincy's. and his father comes in and that where catches him? Yeah. His father comes in and I guess catches him, searching it around, poking around. And so he lets his father know that the Quincy's are attacking. And of course, his care. But why is that when Uryu is supposed to be the last Quincy? Where, where did Quincy's come from? right. And he says, I'm supposed to be the last Quincy and his father at him like, you know, fool, you just believe everything I tell you. Right, Exactly. Because mean, we, we did too we did too. Yeah. we're, we're right there with him. You know, we just got caught up in storytelling. Who do you thought he was the last one. So, so do we. That's just how it works. But he's not, there's a lot more well, his, his father kind of, Looked like, you know, you don't even know the half of it, Yeah. And he does it. I guess we'll see. And so we move on to, the two soul reapers that Ichigo saved That is Shino and Yuki they're in the Seireitei Yep. And they're getting essentially lessons on what it means to be a soul reaper and like the difference between soul reaper and quincy's. So are you able to explain the balance between soul, society, and earth? Are you able to distinguish that? I'll let you go ahead and tell me. Okay. But it seems, it seems like there's this equilibrium that goes on between, soul society and earth and Hueco Mundo so when a soul from, soul society gets reborn, it's reborn in earth and this, that's the cycle. But if there's, there's some type of trauma. When the person dies on earth, they become a monster, which we call a hollow. These hollows need to be purified to get back into that cycle, and that is what soul reaper, shinigami do, but not quincy's. Quincy completely destroy the soul, so they can't fall back into the queue. and that can cause an imbalance because there has to be a balance between souls and the soul society and souls on earth. How did I do Very clear and concise. Thank you. Okay, so they have that talk and they introduce a new character, sixth seat. Kajomaru I think that's his name. Okay. And he does, he does this explanation. He does it better than me. And that's what his purpose is. because I have a feeling he's not gonna last too long. You know, Well, I mean, It kind of felt like yes, the scene was informing these soul reapers on what the difference between them and Quincy's are, but, It also felt like it was like for the, watcher too, like, Hey, Right. this is a clear explanation of what's happening and why, And it's not like they haven't mentioned this before in past episodes, but. This is like a reminder. This is like you know, we'll catch everybody up and we're gonna create this guy who's somewhat respected to tell these two rookies what it means to be s o Reaper. All right, so we are back to Uryu is still snooping around in his father's office looking for clues and And he's in this study. a master diary. I thought he called it a steely. Did he call it a diary? I thought he called it the diary, Maybe maybe Maybe I just wrote diary I don't know. We just call it a steely diary, And he talks about the, it's about the Quincy Extermination project that happened 200 years ago. And that's really interesting because the Quincy King was killed a thousand years ago, so what happened? 200. They just didn't kill all of them. right. So they, I mean, they're just dropping all these little nuggets of like, Just history and questions and I mean, it's, it's really interesting to, it just kind of feels like all the things that you thought you knew, you didn't really know anything, Right. And I just, I, I need more. I need more. I, I, there's all these fill in the blanks holes that I just need to, to complete. And hopefully as the episodes come, as we get more episodes, it become more clearer. Mm-hmm. Right. Okay. So now we're back in the head captain's office partially destroyed barracks. right, and he's in there with captain Yama Yamamotos in Mayuri, essentially he is kind of chastising Mayuri

four, and I had to look at this more than once. I was like, wait a minute, what's going on? You did not catch this the first time, The first time, I think maybe I was just not like paying attention properly but I caught it the second time so 28,000 souls in the Rukon district gone what happened to them? Mayuri killed them. Well, he got rid of them. He put them, he put them back into the queue. Okay, so these souls are just going to pop up back up in earth as little babies. How sweet. That's a romantic spin to it. Yeah, All will have new babies with new souls. That's, I guess that's the best way to look at it, but I mean, it just seemed cold and hardcore? he prevented the collapse of both worlds. well, that's his, that's his argument as the captain, as Yamamotos chastising him. He's essentially well, the Quincy's 28,000 hollows, I'm just writing the balance. and it's your fault anyway cuz you didn't do anything about it in the first place. That's essentially his argument Ouch. Strong argument to, you know, that's what I love about Mayuri, he tells it how it is. I think he's crazy. I think he's a, he is crazy and he's a little he is insane. He is, but he's funny too. He's funny, but he's that, he's that guy. Like if I was in the bleach universe, that's one guy wouldn't want to fight him. And Yamamoto. Ah, because you really wouldn't just kill me. You would have me in the lab somewhere dissecting me putting poison in me and cutting my body apart. I mean, he would just make me. Yeah, he's a scary guy, He really is. But, you know, essentially he's, he's just pretty pragmatic about the fact that he just killed all those souls to, to balance. And, you know, the blame just yamamotos chastising him. So it's just like they're passing blame around as to whose fault this is, It was, it was So was, that was a big shocker. But we are moving on to back, we're back to the fight with Sternritter j the caram and the car mirror. the, and the Kymera. And he uses his delay technique to absorb. Bra. He, he, he absorbing reci. right, right. So everything in Waco, Muno is basically rci. Even your body is RHI if you're there. So what he's doing is it's this basic technique, very it's like basic, maybe not the word. It's not the word. It is what they do, how they absorb and attack. That's what they're known to do. and he just brought it back down to basics and said, okay, I'm gonna steal REI and it's gonna affect everybody in everything in the environment. And that's what he does. Well, he, and then he, he absorbs it into himself to himself too, cuz then he brought the wings out. Well, what did you notice that the Chimera, he absorbed all the chimera's reishi, he destroyed that chimera by taking the reishi sheet. right? So by doing that, he killed. Killed the chimera and he makes this, can I say this one? This is very important. He says, the Quincy King needs to adjust the power of our bloops. And that shock me cuz that means that the Quincy King can give and take power. He can enhance abilities. and he can take them away. And it's just like the, the, the things were just popping off in my head, like, okay, is that what happened with the Arrancar's while they were powerful, that the Quincy King powered them up? I mean, it's just starting to make sense now. that's the question though. Does that apply to entities or just Quincy's That's a very good point. they're manipulating reishi, then, you know, That's a very are questions that need answers. So, So he absorbs all this reishi and he becomes even more powerful and Ichigo's in a lot of trouble now. Yeah. And so we get a little side look at Kisuke and is it Pesche? will say his name wrong. Pesche and so they Kisuke, Peche and Dondochak

ka ka oh, they're looking for Dondochakka I'm sorry. While Ichigo's fighting. Well Dondochakka's on is on the back. So they found Dondochakka. And Pesche is just, him, and I guess they found they were right. They fight as like a distraction so they could search for him absolutely, absolutely they have them and they're doing their comic relief and I, I really appreciate that cuz you know, you, this is a big fight. This is the fight. The, the beginning fight that we know is going to happen, that's going to carry over to Soul Society. But speaking of Ichigo, he comes out and destroys the steely. He destroys the halo from, from what's his name again? I can't think of his name. Quilge. Yeah. He, he destroys Quilge and Quilge is very, very upset now. So then we flash to officially, the war has begun. War has begun. Quincy king has invaded the soul, soul society, and unleashed. Well, it looked like a reishi attack, right? But Yeah. Blue racing, blue flames everywhere. blue pillars, blue condensed. reishi pillars, it's a 8, 9, 10 of them discharged throughout or erupted throughout the, so Soul Society, the, the squads are gearing up for a fight. They match the presence 93% being a Quincy. So they know the Quincy are here, Yeah. and it seems like. just, I mean, they, even though they, they knew they were. on the way. They seemed very unprepared. They did. And so like, soul reapers just got, immediately, a whole bunch got immediately taken out, including, Lieutenant Kira. Lieutenant Kira. Oh man. We, Immediately think it looked like we, we, we lost Kira, he has hole in his chest. yeah. He didn't see, it coming. He didn't even see who shot him. well, they took off his like whole side. Like they, he lost his arm, half his chest. So I think Lieutenant Kira done, done for And you know, Kira, Kira, I, I like Ki he Kira just, he means a lot to me. You know? I like Kira. He has this crazy

crazy arc where he beheads this Arrancar with his what's the name of his zanpakuto? Do you know it? Do you remember? It? Oh, yes. The, with the, because his, so his sword looks like a seven, right? like a seven. Yeah. when he slashes you, he makes, he doubles the weight and he kills this. you, right? every time he hits you. And he beheads this Arrancar as the Arrancar begs for his life. So Kira, Kira is the real deal, and he's Down. Down. We don't know if he's out, but he looks out. it ends, it ends with the stern ritters in a single voice stand. We're gonna purge you from the world. Yep. The end. What do you think? So, I mean, I, I thought it was a pretty good episode. You know, we

they dropped a lot of nuggets, gave us a lot of history or a lot of references to history or, or things that have taken place already and It's picking up, it's, it's picking up speed. So what did you, what did you think? Oh, I loved it. I loved it, and I will officially give it an 8.5 bankai's oh, yes, bankai's I can agree with that. 8.5 bankai's it was pretty good. It was can't wait. I'm so excited about the next episode. Yes. I mean, the fights happen in the next episode. The fight Well, you know, I, I mean, the way things are looking right now, I, I just don't know if the soul reapers are ready for this one. And I'm like, I'm kind of with Mayuri. I'm like, Yamamoto. Were they in your office? Why are they still here? right, you didn't do your job. Yamamoto. and that brings us to the best and worst of an episode. Are you ready? Sure. Best and worst. best and worst. Just tell me your best I'll give you my best. Okay. My best is, I don't even know so much. Took place. Do you want me to go first? yeah, go ahead. Let me, let me think a second. Okay. I don't want you to take my stuff anyway. Ah, It is, and this is so, so predictable of me. It's. Mayuri. Again,- his conversation with Yamamoto was just so on point. He doesn't fear authority. He doesn't fear Yamamoto. You know, his squad terminated 28,000 souls in Rukon district. It doesn't even try to cover it up. He doesn't cower. He says, I did it. In fact, Yamamoto, it's your fault, you know? I had to do this because you couldn't take care of a little pesky problem that happened a thousand years ago, and man. You know, I hate to agree with Mayuri on anything it's all true. you know, he's, he's kind of right. And Mayuri can sense something's in the air. Like all, there's so much going on and all Mayuri wants to do is study. He needs to, he needs time to figure out how the quincy's are doing this and doing that. He's like, mom Yamamoto, it's just one thing you can do for me. Let's kill a few people. I'm just scientist. Just kill a few people and it's so poignant and so strong. Mayuri, I think he's a scene stealer. Well, I can agree with that too, because, you know, every time he's on the screen it's chaos or something crazy's taking place or he's just comedic relief cuz he is so straightforward Right. in what he's saying. So, love voice actor. Yeah. What is your best. I'll just go with finding out all the little nuggets that we did, you know, good one. Yeah. Even though that. a lot of'em aren't really answering questions, they're just producing more questions. it was, you know, it was kind of like, Hmm, what? Hmm. Right. And I, I like, one of the things that you alluded to is we found out that what the technology that. Uryu's using. It's different from the current Quincy, the Quilge's and whatever Quincy we haven't seen yet. You know, they're all using high tech technology, well, high tech weaponry. Even the arrancar's were able to use a device to steal bankai's so the tech that the Quincy's are using, Seem to trump Soul Reapers right now. For Yeah. Can I give you my worst? Okay. Go ahead. Yeah. My moto, Oh, he's my worst, so my worst. Oh my goodness. Okay. We can do a a worst together because Okay. Okay. So can I, I can say my 2 cents and then you can add yours. So Yamamoto arguably the greatest shinigami of all time. He's definitely has the strongest, most powerful bonai. Yes. Well, he's kinda sloppy now, isn't he? Oh my goodness. That's what I'm saying, can you believe, I feel like as the head captain, aren't you supposed to stay ready? And I just feel like he is, he's, he's let things slip through the cracks. You know? Villains are breaking in at will. They're getting away your barrack, Right. Here's your best friend, and even more, I feel like why did he not know that something like this was coming? Did you not have, a tingle, nothing alerting you that this was on the horizon. You know, It reminds me of I was gonna have a Casablanca, but no, I'm not gonna do that. I feel would find a way to work Casablanca into bleach. I know right. but I mean, to an extent he is slipping on all. Fronts he's, it is, I think it's his arrogance that's making him a bad leader right now. Like he's relying so much on his power and shinigami's rely on their bankai where you can't use your bankai now, but it hasn't registered to him. He thinks, okay, I have this great weapon. Even if so, if we get into trouble that I can come in and save the day. Like normal and I, I just don't know if it's gonna work this time. Yeah. So he's the worst. he, he was a little disappointing. Yeah. And this office doesn't have a side cuz it's still, it is blown off and nobody's fixed it yet. I'm just mad that he made me agree with Mayuri like I, yeah he really disappointed in that aspect. right. And fix your office, Yamamoto. Fix it. You know what I mean? Fix your arm too. He's walking. He's one arm. Fix your arm. You know, he's just, Is you, are you just venting now with all the things I just remember he's missing the arm and the side of his office is missing.
