Mediaboard_sounds:

and

Giovani74:

Giovanni.

Danielle:

Hi, and I'm your host, Dani.

Giovani74:

Hi, Danny.

Danielle:

Hey, back at it again.

Giovani74:

Oh, yeah, we're back, baby.

Mediaboard_sounds:

next

Giovani74:

Did that not work? Did that not work like I thought it was gonna work? We're back, baby.

Danielle:

I'm used to it at this point. I

Giovani74:

Okay,

Danielle:

completely. Not much.

Giovani74:

danny

Danielle:

my god.

Giovani74:

can't think can't think well i'm not doing good right now and this is really fantasy football wise I hate I hate fantasy football. I hate it.

Danielle:

Well, you

Giovani74:

Well, i'm pretty much just giving money away now. It's like any effort or any chance of me winning In this one league one of my money leagues

Danielle:

a

Giovani74:

I

Danielle:

anyway?

Giovani74:

I finish my thought please? Any Any chance of winning is gone. I don't have any chance of winning now.

Danielle:

But

Giovani74:

on the eighth game losing streak

Danielle:

uh, well, I

Giovani74:

Right

Danielle:

how do you know that already?

Giovani74:

eight games

Danielle:

yeah, because I mean, it is So if you aren't looking like a winner by now, I guess, you know, you can throw the towel in.

Giovani74:

my entire team Was injured week. I was on the two game winning streak then week three happened.

Danielle:

with a like a a plus draft.

Giovani74:

I did I did I just said Injuries.

Danielle:

That's tough There were there was no good backups available

Giovani74:

the, okay, the dumbest, the stupidest thing is running a two quarterback league. So now, right,

Danielle:

quarterback League

Giovani74:

I mean, yeah, so in this league, I'm a two quarterback team. So, we gotta have two quarterbacks, right? Then you gotta have backups for the quarterbacks. What leaves zero quality quarterbacks on the waiver wire. So, I mean,

Danielle:

I've never heard anyone doing two quarterbacks. I thought, you know, you have like multiple wide receivers or running backs or

Giovani74:

Yeah,

Danielle:

I never heard of like having to start or having to pick up two quarterbacks at the same time.

Giovani74:

well, it's been done before and it's a bad idea.

Danielle:

Isn't this like, you know, I have like a mini rant about fantasy football when

Giovani74:

Why do you have a rant you don't play do you

Danielle:

it like on the line of, of gambling, they have

Giovani74:

gambling is legal?

Danielle:

Is it

Giovani74:

Yes. Yes, it is Never had heard of

Danielle:

have all this talk about, you know, players and whoever else, um, betting on

Giovani74:

oh my god.

Danielle:

allowed to gamble and they're

Giovani74:

I mean

Danielle:

do this

Giovani74:

last time I looked I am not a football player

Danielle:

okay, but are they allowed to have, are they allowed to be in like fantasy leagues and, and do it that way?

Giovani74:

I'm sure they can, yeah.

Danielle:

Can't they affect the outcome of the game that way?

Giovani74:

For themselves? What do you mean? So, they don't want to score a touchdown because the guy is is going to win this?

Danielle:

saying, you

Giovani74:

What?

Danielle:

I mean, I feel like It's all on the same, you know, with my logic right now might not be the best, but

Giovani74:

It's not. It's not. It's not. Okay, I'm going to tank myself. I'll cause my I

Danielle:

the same realm of, you know, So you could have taken that 250 and do something much more productive with

Giovani74:

could've. That part's true. But,

Danielle:

it. away to a losing team

Giovani74:

right.

Danielle:

a league that you're losing in.

Giovani74:

You know, you're just like a Debbie Downer now.

Danielle:

sympathy

Giovani74:

are. You're like, I mean, it feels like this when everything's going wrong, when everything goes right, you know, I'm making all the right decisions, I'm smart, but now you can spend your money better.

Danielle:

You

Giovani74:

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, of course, because I'm losing. Oh my god. Uh, Danny P, what's, what's going on? What's going on? Why are you dumping on me?

Danielle:

so sorry,

Giovani74:

I think I've talked about fantasy football way too long.

Danielle:

there was quite a bit of losing in this episode

Giovani74:

Losing in the episode?

Danielle:

poor

Giovani74:

Oh, Oh, do you want to kick it off? Because There's some interesting things going on in this episode. So,

Danielle:

Yeah

Giovani74:

start it off.

Danielle:

Yeah season 3 episode 28, correct?

Giovani74:

Yes,

Danielle:

this one is Kill the King.

Giovani74:

Kill the King.

Danielle:

So what do you think about that title?

Giovani74:

The soul king has a sword in his abdomen already so He's the soul king is dying. But there's some interesting things that happens in there especially at the beginning where the Soul King, is it the Soul King eyes

Danielle:

I thought it was the Soul King's eyes.

Giovani74:

It's from Yuha's point of view. That's why I was thinking it was probably Yuha.

Danielle:

Okay.

Giovani74:

You see a young Yuha standing in water, Watching his humanoid father, which is the Soul King. And as he pulls out the lichpin, you can see the swirling begin, from Yuhua's point of view, he's just quietly looking at this happen, and you don't know quite what he's feeling.

Danielle:

We got the montage of, of kind of cycling through, like his birth to like present day

Giovani74:

Right.

Danielle:

It's almost like they both were, maybe sacrificed

Giovani74:

This was kind of like a abstract interpretation from Yha's point of view. Because when he pulls out the linchpins, then the worlds are separated. Yha, goes into the cycle of rebirth. But the Soul King loses his limbs. So the story of him losing his limbs isn't told. I think that's just Bleach telling the story and letting us interpret it ourselves. Right, and Yuha,

Danielle:

much open to speculation and interpretation. And so, um, yeah, I mean, I saw where he did lose his limb. So, you know, it was just interesting, how they were telling that particular, um, of the story or piece of history.

Giovani74:

he takes time to say farewell to the Soul King, the one who can see the future of all things. And it just makes me think, if the Soul King can see a thousand years through multiple possibilities, he had to see where he is now with a sword in his chest. So he had to foresee him dying or him being stabbed

Danielle:

Okay.

Giovani74:

Rebellion as well as the Soul Reapers and, uh, the Quincy, the trials that the Quincy have went through, he saw that. And the Soul King must have been like, this is better than the other futures. That's the only thing I can think of. Thoughts.

Danielle:

We have two essentially competing almighty powers taking place.

Giovani74:

They both have the eyes.

Danielle:

Right, but Is it okay? Well, that's what I'm saying. So how, how does that work? Because he can see into the future, see this particular moment that's taking place Yuhua can also see into the future to see the particular moment taking place. Are they, Is it

Giovani74:

Well, we don't know.

Danielle:

from

Giovani74:

I don't know if Yuha didn't have the almighty back then.

Danielle:

I understand, but I'm saying he has it now,

Giovani74:

He has it now. Yes.

Danielle:

is making moves based off of what he's Can see now,

Giovani74:

We don't know how far Yuha is looking into the future. We do know at the opening that he did see Ichigo on the ground, him standing over Ichigo with Ichigo in defeat. So he did see that whatever's going to happen now, Ichigo was going to lose.

Danielle:

Yeah

Giovani74:

Next up.

Danielle:

Okay. So, so, with discussing, like, the, the flashback montage, we just know that Yuha, like he's presenting himself like he just wants to end the soul kings, as he's calling it, his humiliation.

Giovani74:

write

Danielle:

we also see that what he is doing is causing this, Earthquake like disturbance in all of the worlds. So everybody's feeling, um,

Giovani74:

the soul kings

Danielle:

to a degree up there. Yeah,

Giovani74:

what I was Uncomfortable about this whole scenario is that the soul king? remains expressionless throughout everything he has No facial expression, he's not wincing, he's not smiling, he's not sad, he's just staring. And there's something about watching the Soul King stare like a puppet or a doll, so passive, is so unsettling to me. Because he is stabbed and he's dying and the only thing I can think of is that he has foresaw everything up until now and he knows there's nothing he can say, do, or anything to, to prevent what's about to happen.

Danielle:

that's a possibility. It looks like he's encased in crystal.

Giovani74:

Right.

Danielle:

And so is. I mean, I guess we know he's alive, but what does that mean in, in terms of like how alive,

Giovani74:

soul King is portrayed as an object, like a passive object,

Danielle:

right.

Giovani74:

There's nothing to him that you can tell that he's even alive. One thing I do know is he's not commanding anybody. He's not telling Osha what to do. This guy is,

Danielle:

doesn't seem like it. So that's what I'm like, well, if he, yes, he can see into the future and, know everything but how is he affecting it? is, he is he affecting it and

Giovani74:

He's not doing it. He's regulating the soul society.

Danielle:

you know, so We see that. And friends as I like to say with, along with, um, Orihime's assistance is on the way up do what Ichibei asked to try to stop Yuha. And, uh, I mean, they got up there a lot quicker than he did. But

Giovani74:

As you mentioned before the Sarate's falling apart. Mayuri makes A comment and he said something like I wonder did they remove the keystone? What keystone is he talking about? What what do you think?

Danielle:

You know, removing the Keystone, aka kill the Soul King, is, seems like he's the one holding everything together. So you take him away and everything starts to crumble apart.

Giovani74:

I didn't know what to think. It's whatever's happening. Mayuri Says something smart Because no one else has said anything smart that I can hold on to I can grasp and I can make sense of

Danielle:

Well, you know, and that's another thing, like everybody on the ground right now kind of feels for the last two episodes, like I don't want to say they kind of feel useless, but they kind of feel

Giovani74:

they do And clueless.

Danielle:

right?

Giovani74:

Useless and clueless.

Danielle:

They feel like there's, no plan. Everybody's kind of shuffling around. Waiting for um, Kisuke to maybe come up with the plan.

Giovani74:

As the viewer, like you and me, we get nothing. We get absolutely zero. If Kiske has a plan, he's not sharing.

Danielle:

Right.

Giovani74:

And I think that's kind of the problem. That is the problem.

Danielle:

Yeah

Giovani74:

We're like viewers who are just grasping. We know that the Soul King is dying, but what's the fate of the world?

Danielle:

Yeah,

Giovani74:

Um, Batsby and other Quincy's, they're looking confused. Even down to Earth, you see Uriu's father, Weyuken, and Captain Isshin taking notice to the Rumblings And we don't know exactly the extent of the information that They that they have, but they know that these tremors are not good.

Danielle:

Yeah I don't know but Ichigo finally arrives and Yoha is very much waiting for him

Giovani74:

Oh, he foresaw this

Danielle:

He was like, well, I know you will come in, so let's, let's go.

Giovani74:

I'm thinking Ichigo may not do too well because we know that he did foresee it.

Danielle:

Well, I mean, I wouldn't be standing around for a fight that I'm about to lose. So,

Giovani74:

true.

Danielle:

you know,

Giovani74:

Yuha kind of dares each to go to attack him with his sopa toes.'cause he does notice he has dual sopa toes maybe the last he saw his sopa to was broken. Ichigo. He just goes straight at Yuhua and starts attacking.

Danielle:

He does. And displaying some, some new powers.

Giovani74:

It looked good, like it was very explosive.

Danielle:

a few new powers that he was putting out there and he also seemed to be dominating.

Giovani74:

Right, he uses Getsuga Tenshou and you know, he said it so quietly. Getsuga Tenshou. It was so calming, but very explosive and very powerful. They tear through Kirinji's pond. Yuhua still not doing too well, but not bothered. You know why? Because he foresaw the end already. How cool is that? If you like bad guys,

Danielle:

I know, looking at you always makes me miss Zangetsu. Yeah.

Giovani74:

you'll never see Sanketsu

Danielle:

I

Giovani74:

the same way again.

Danielle:

but, um, no, but he's, he does seem to be down and out. It looks like Ichigo is, is about to hit victory. And

Giovani74:

he uses his Sun Bogen, which is these, uh, massive reishi arrows and Ichigo avoids it or disrupts it. They both power up and it is dazzling to me. It's so fantastic because Yuhua is in this quincey blue, it's vibrant, and Ichigo is in, I think it's gold, dazzling gold, and the light show of them back and forth, it is so amazing to see, it's a huge display of power, and you feel like Ichigo is doing better than Osho, at this moment.

Danielle:

Okay.

Giovani74:

You had displayed ability he used. Earlier, in uh, season one the qual Christ ichigo blocks that, no problem. Yuha now knows that Ichigo was training with uh, and I'm gonna try to get this word right, Arazu Sando, which is that, path, to test, you know, for potential soul king power. He knows that Ichigo was training, and he also now has the memories and the visions. Of the time before and I think that's the soul king's memories

Danielle:

Well, whatever he's gonna do we already we're already clued in that chances are high he's gonna succeed

Giovani74:

he is he has not opened his eyes yet. Which is, which means he has not opened his almighty.

Danielle:

He hasn't used his almighty power. So,

Giovani74:

And then,

Danielle:

tables are about to turn.

Giovani74:

it's a broken power. It's abstract. If he can see it, it cannot affect him.

Danielle:

Wasn't this one of the complaints mangaritas had, when it came to wrapping up Bleach and dealing with Yuhua and this power, it was basically him just kinda sauntering around saying that he knows this and he knows that, but not, like, actually having a lot of action

Giovani74:

It's an abstract power. It's just him saying, well, this doesn't affect me because I can see it. And it's hard to reconcile that because, Just because I see it coming doesn't necessarily mean it won't affect me

Danielle:

Well,

Giovani74:

how do you prevent it from affecting you?

Danielle:

I get that. And I did like, as a viewer, they wrote it in a way where, we were, we were able to get The fights. I guess if for the people like myself who do the fight scenes and appreciate the fight scenes, we were able to get that because I feel like maybe a little bit of the previous episode had that like, I have the almighty power. I can do this and things just kind of. magically unfold in the way that he wants and it's just the explanation is just because I can see it all

Giovani74:

Right.

Danielle:

that can be a little tiresome as a viewer just looking at that all the time. So I do like that wrote it in a way where he kind of didn't use the power

Giovani74:

Mm hmm,

Danielle:

so then it forced him to have to actually engage

Giovani74:

but he was never in any danger of losing the fight anyway, like

Danielle:

I'm just saying, just looking at it viewer wise, you know, now it's forcing him to engage, even though we know he's, you know, he already knows he's going to win, but it's forcing him to seem like he has to engage, um, a little bit before he gets back to, I, I see it all. I know it all,

Giovani74:

Right,

Danielle:

know,

Giovani74:

so this fight is very different and it's over really really quickly he just kicks Ichigo's butt and He beat him upside down inside out and they end up back at the soul king's palace With Yuhua standing above Ichigo as it was foretold.

Danielle:

Right.

Giovani74:

went full circle, he saw it, he had no fear, and it ended precisely like it was going to. Bravo Yuhua! You the man.

Danielle:

Rukia and Renji, and, you know, they're hoping that Squad Zero is still alive and they are heading over to Mayuri's, research and development lab,

Giovani74:

right. They're looking for some answers. Momo are there. Soiphon and her lieutenant Omaeda. Jushiro Yukitake's taking care of Kenpachi.

Danielle:

Right.

Giovani74:

So that's that

Danielle:

speculating on what's causing the tremors. Kisuke thinks that they're tied to the safety of the Soul King.

Giovani74:

And he would be right

Danielle:

He

Giovani74:

And he would be very right.

Danielle:

Yeah.

Giovani74:

So this next part, I would like to touch on. I just want to hear what you have to say. Because Yuhua caused the Soul King by his true name, and

Danielle:

he did. We got that. Definitely. A

Giovani74:

if I pronounced that right. What do you think? Atnius?

Danielle:

A D an a us. like Adonis, maybe? A

Giovani74:

Maybe?

Danielle:

A D an us.

Giovani74:

And he is very upset with his father. He has a complicated relationship with his father. He wants to end his humiliation because he's a severed being that's encapsulated in stone. But at the same time, he's angry because his father saw the destruction of the Quincy empire and he let It happen.

Danielle:

He chose, yep, he chose to let it happen.

Giovani74:

This is,

Danielle:

right?

Giovani74:

An all powerful entity who's omniscient and omnipotent can let bad things happen to good people. No matter if you follow the Bible, whether it's Hebrew or the Christian Bible, there's always so much trial and tribulation. Why must you do that? This is a story that's as old as time that you talk about a deity and you wonder why so much suffering, why would you let this happen?

Danielle:

Right.

Giovani74:

And like I said, it's,

Danielle:

I don't think

Giovani74:

it's so,

Danielle:

answers for that yet, though. Heh

Giovani74:

that's

Danielle:

heh

Giovani74:

but,

Danielle:

heh.

Giovani74:

Yuhua is, Yuhua is angry. Because his people, and maybe him to an extent, have gone through so much, they have been essentially wiped out twice. And, Yuhua brings them back every time, and he's like, why? You can prevent this, but you choose not to.

Danielle:

Heh heh. Yep.

Giovani74:

And that's why Juha's like, if you're not gonna do anything, I am gonna kill you.

Danielle:

Ichigo and his friends, they try to step up, to save the soul king. Yoruchi manages to get some, I guess like these golden threads around Yuha, but he burn them up with like his reishi flames

Giovani74:

He just used his Reishi to burn them. And in burning The, the golden threads, some of the flames, inflamed the curtain and you see

Danielle:

can see the soul king.

Giovani74:

With a sword impelled in his chest. Ichigo.Sees this, and Immediately springs into action. But you Yuha didn't stop him.

Danielle:

He did

Giovani74:

Yuha was like,

Danielle:

encouraged him.

Giovani74:

Cause Ichigo doesn't think

Danielle:

it was always one of his flaws.

Giovani74:

Ichigo pulls out the sword. But!

Danielle:

Then he's overcome.

Giovani74:

Because Ichigo

Danielle:

a trap!

Giovani74:

Ichigo's Quincy!

Danielle:

like,

Giovani74:

He's the, the, the blue fiends or whatever.

Danielle:

he forgets that.

Giovani74:

His body, or a part of his body, belongs to,

Danielle:

You,

Giovani74:

to Yuhua,

Danielle:

yep. And he

Giovani74:

and Yuhua, Yuhua says kill the Soul King, and that's what Ichigo does. Ichigo lifts his sword and splits the Soul King in half.

Danielle:

Yep. In

Giovani74:

The lower part of the Soul King falls, and this. You can feel this. The world feels this.

Danielle:

Yep. All the trembling is at a 10 now. But you know, I feel like the Soul King being cut in half should be more ominous than trembling, don't you? Like, I feel like the sky needs to be turned in black. It just feels like it should be like, you should really know that this is a terrible thing that just took place, like,

Giovani74:

Well, that was,

Danielle:

trembling.

Giovani74:

agree. I agree with that. I do think it was interesting how Juha says it took someone who was Quincy, human, soul reaper, full bringer, and hollow, someone who has all five traits to kill the soul king. And two, when everything goes white, I kind of dug it. I kind of like how they did the end of the world scenario. It's like a a slow burn, right? Hot, slow burn. To me, it felt like it was the end. Well,

Danielle:

certainly predicted that because he says that with the destruction of the soul king. You know, all three worlds are gonna cease to exist.

Giovani74:

Ichigo's friends had a small part too, looking at their soul passes. It was like, maybe this is a good time to see Ichigo.

Danielle:

Ah. Ha ha ha.

Giovani74:

go to the Soul Society and meet him?

Danielle:

Not, not so much. Do you think that, um, cause, Aizen wanted to kill the Soul King too,

Giovani74:

He did, yep.

Danielle:

So did he have all of that together to be able to do that? Did you think he had that knowledge that He needed all of that to be able to do it?

Giovani74:

Well, I think the, uh, Horyoku, if I pronounced that right,

Danielle:

Was gonna like what make up the rest of it?

Giovani74:

right, I think, yeah. I mean, I don't know for sure. Maybe,

Danielle:

we

Giovani74:

maybe he didn't know that.

Danielle:

part and uh

Giovani74:

But if you go back, the description that Aizen gave to, uh, Ichigo and, kisuke? It was the perfect depiction of how the, the Soul King looks. If you listen to what he calls him, that thing. He was more knowledgeable about the Soul King than anybody else. Maybe besides Kisuke.

Danielle:

Hmm.

Giovani74:

So that ends the episode, right?

Danielle:

ends the episode the worlds are rumbling.

Giovani74:

Scariest thing

Danielle:

has a plan.

Giovani74:

well,

Danielle:

Yeah.

Giovani74:

It better, because this is episode two.

Danielle:

somebody other than Yuhua has a plan, And listen, well, I'll get to that next. Sorry.

Giovani74:

So, uh

Danielle:

somebody other than Yuhua has a plan, definitely.

Giovani74:

Yeah, I don't know how I feel about this episode, There was some good and bad in this, it'd be interesting to hear your best and worst,

Danielle:

Well, I don't know if I have a best, I guess I'll do worse

Giovani74:

but, let's rate it first, just like, jump ahead,

Danielle:

Sorry. Go ahead.

Giovani74:

How do you rate this episode?

Danielle:

You know, I have to say that my rankings don't feel really high for these first two episodes. I did like the action with the fight scene because I always like the bleach fight scenes the most part. You know, they always get the music, right? They usually do them pretty well So I like that that was quite a bit of everyone on the ground being aimless felt a

Giovani74:

that was,

Danielle:

um drawn out.

Giovani74:

that was, I agree.

Danielle:

So I will say I'll give it a solid seven

Giovani74:

Whoa, a seven?

Danielle:

I don't know

Giovani74:

Okay.

Danielle:

just, you know, yeah, let me expand a just a smidge, because I feel like, know, they are moving the story along, we got some back history with the flashback, we got, um, Yuham explaining why he needed Ichigo to be the one to kill the Soul King. We got some explanations. So the story is moving forward, I just felt, I still feel like I just, I need more for some reason. Like I feel like I

Giovani74:

Right. Right.

Danielle:

and the main part of the fight scenes and that action was good. That was fine, but I still feel like I need a little bit more, so I'm going to stick with my seven.

Giovani74:

Well, this was a, not a strong episode to me and I struggled with this because I wanted to give it something lower than a six lower than last week's episode, but I decided just to give it a six again. They gave, they breadcrumbed us. And it just basically seemed like the ichigo yuha yorubaha show. It's just okay six six for the best and worst you want the best or the worst,

Danielle:

I guess I'll do the worst,

Giovani74:

okay You

Danielle:

feel like I really have a best but for me Well, I don't know if it's exactly a worse, but I just thought it was kind of Kind of messed up that Oh show Gave this whole spiel to Ichigo about how he needs to step up and help save the soul king because he can't do it and he's the only one he can get to do it and you know it's a whole thing you know and as soon as they're gone basically like Oh, well, you know, they're not gonna win. They're gonna get defeated.

Giovani74:

Right.

Danielle:

So sad, too bad.

Giovani74:

Poor humans.

Danielle:

Yeah, so I'm like, okay, so he set them up on what like a suicide mission,

Giovani74:

Was not good.

Danielle:

that there was no way that he was gonna win. Why, why even do that? You know, I I didn't like that.

Giovani74:

My best was Yuhua. I thought Yuhua really stood out in this episode. And he stands out in all episodes. But the glimpse of the almighty being used the way it did. At the beginning of the, uh, show, we see Yuhua standing above Ichigo in defeat. And we didn't know where this was going. But as the fight continues started to unfold and Yuhua said well I foresaw. This already. We got a glimpse to see that Yuhua's really not afraid of Ichigo at any part of this fight Because he saw how it was going to end and it it did end just as he foresaw and in general Everything ended like Yuhua foresaw, even the death of his father, the Soul King. Pretty cool.

Danielle:

yeah,

Giovani74:

So. Is that it. Danny P?

Danielle:

Uh, yeah, I think that's it. Um, We'll see what the outcome is from the soul king being cut in half The next episode everything's rumbling hopefully You know things will still be intact

Giovani74:

What's the name of the next episode?

Danielle:

next episode is gonna be The dark arm episode

Giovani74:

Oh,

Danielle:

the dark arm.

Giovani74:

the Dog arm. I have thoughts.

Danielle:

So, that's gonna be interesting Yeah So,

Giovani74:

wrap this up.

Danielle:

news or anything for the people?

Giovani74:

Uh, no, not this week. I don't have anything. Sorry guys, nothing.

Mediaboard_sounds:
