1. The LORD is a warrior who fights for His people. (Judges 4:14-15,23, 5:4)

2. He saved his people with a storm! (Judges 4:14-15, 23, 5:4, 20-21, Joshua 10:10 – 11; 1 Samuel 7:10; Psalm 18:14; 144:6.)

3. He saved them through a woman named Deborah.(Judges 4:4-10)

4. Are we the spiritual leaders that God calls us to be?

5. We need to put our trust in the Lord. (Exodus 33:15, Judges 4:8)

6. Jael was courageous! (Judges 4:21,5:24-27)

7. God saves His people through Christ. (John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Galatians 4:4-5)

• Read and reflect on Psalm 18.  How is God portrayed differently in this Psalm than in Psalm 23?  Which image of God do you prefer and why?
• Discuss the roles of men and women – both in Bible times and today.  What happens in a culture when men refuse to provide moral and spiritual leadership?
