“The Foundations of our Faith,” part 6

A sermon outline based on Genesis 1 & Belgic Confession Article 12

1. God made the world out of nothing. (Genesis 1:1, Hebrews 11:3)

2. God uniquely designed all living things. (Psalm 104:16-25)

3. God created humans to rule over His creation. (Genesis 1:28, Psalm 8:3-8)

4. God created angels to serve Himself and us. (Psalm 103:20, Hebrews 1:14, Psalm 91:11)

5. Some angels rebelled against God and now make it their mission to deceive and destroy.

    (1 Peter 5:8, John 8:44, 10:10a, 2 Corinthians 11:14)

Next steps:

• Go for a walk and pay attention to the details of God’s creation – then praise and thank Him for what you see, hear, taste, touch and smell.
• Read and reflect on Psalm 104 and turn it into a prayer of praise to God.
• Think about where in your life you’re most susceptible to being deceived by Satan.  Ask the Lord to protect you, show you the truth and help you to walk in it.
