• How did he become the emperor?
• He was the son of a god.
• He was ruthless!

3. Why did he order a census? (Luke 2:1)

4. What was it like in “those days?” (Luke 2:1)

5. This was the fullness of time. (Daniel 2:44, Galatians 4:4-5)

Next steps...

• Advent is a season of waiting.  As you wait for answers, for healing, or for the Lord to help you through a difficult situation, ask Him to give you patience.  And thank Him that no matter what we face, He is our Immanuel: God with us.
• Read and reflect on Galatians 4:4-5 “But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.” (NLT)
• How does understanding the world that Jesus was born into give us a greater appreciation for God’s timing?  Trust that His timing will be perfect when Jesus returns as well.
