Welcome to another episode of the EBC's Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Luke 19:37-38, and it reads: “When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest”

The Lord takes joy in each and every one of us and will perform wonders in our lives. As Jesus approached, a crowd of his disciples gathered in excitement. He saw that their hearts were filled with joy as they began to praise God aloud, celebrating the remarkable miracles they had witnessed. This joyful celebration echoed through the valley, accompanied by calls of “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

As we pray, let us reflect not only our admiration for Jesus but also our hope for the fulfillment of his kingdom and the significance of his arrival.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, our hearts are overflowing with joy and gratitude for this cherished opportunity to connect with you during our prayer. Thank you for reminding us through your sacred scripture that “When you came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise you, God, in loud voices for all the miracles they had witnessed. They exuberantly shouted, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” Their hearts brimmed with hope as they proclaimed, “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest.”

Lord, today we are joining that same joyous chorus of praise. May our own words and melodies resonate with the same passion and awareness of your grace that lightens our lives. As we journey through life, we will encounter moments of fatigue, discouragement, or temptation to surrender. Yet, you are encouraging us to remain steadfast in prayer. With our voices lifted and hearts open, we echo: Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! We acknowledge You, Jesus, as our Savior, our Redeemer, and our source of hope.

Father, we come to you in earnest prayer and praise, for you are entirely holy and righteous. Your throne stands eternal, a beacon of hope amidst a fleeting world. You are the God of miracles, the One who parts seas, raises the dead, heals the sick, and binds up our wounds with tender mercy. We thank you that throughout every generation, you reveal your unfailing love and magnificent power, just as you did for those disciples who joyfully shouted your praise that memorable day.

You are the God of peace. You whisper stillness amidst our storms, calm our hearts, and remind us that your glory fills the highest heavens. Even when chaos spins around us, your peace surrounds and guards us. help us to find rest in the glorious truth that you reign over all, that you are eternally faithful, and that nothing can tear us away from your boundless love.

Lord, with hearts full of gratitude, we thank you for the expressive reminder of your entry into Jerusalem. You knew the suffering that lay ahead, yet you chose to walk the path of obedience for the sake of your plan for our lives. You are our King, who came not to be served but to serve, offering your life as a ransom for every one of us.

Thank you for being the fulfillment of God's promises, the one who reconciles heaven and earth. Through your sacrifice on the cross, we find reconciliation. Through your glorious resurrection, we are granted the gift of eternal life. Today, we are lifting our voices and hearts in agreement, just as the disciples did, proclaiming your sovereignty in our lives.

Father, we earnestly pray for peace, peace in our lives and in the world surrounding us. As we consider the cries of the crowd, “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest,” may your peace overflow into our lives today. Where fear stumbles, bring reassurance. Where confusion reigns, bring clarity. Where sorrow dwells, bring the warmth of comfort. Where division exists, bring the healing relief of reconciliation.

Have mercy upon our families. Let your love knit threads of strength and unity throughout our homes. May kindness, compassion, and forgiveness replace anger and bitterness, fostering an environment of harmony. Guide our leaders to seek wisdom, humility, and justice, empowering your peace to advance, breaking through the darkest nights of our lives with the light of your truth.

Lord, remember everyone who is struggling in this moment, the lonely, the sick, the grieving, and the weary. Surround each and every one of us with your comforting presence, and let us feel assured that we are never forgotten. May we always enjoy in the warmth of your embrace, drawing hope only you can bring.

Father, thank you for calling us to live a life marked by endless praise. The disciples on the road to Jerusalem did not remain silent; their joy overflowed into joyful songs of worship. May it be so with us. Let our lives transform into living testimonies of your goodness. Help us to see your miracles unfolding around us each day, the breathtaking beauty of creation, the unbreakable bonds of love among family and friends, and the countless ways you actively provide for us.

Lord, teach us to carry hearts of gratitude, even amid trials. Remind us to look beyond our struggles and fix our eyes on you, the author and perfecter of our faith. In moments of discouragement, let us remember the joy of praise, the triumphant crowd, and may our spirits rise in worship each and every day.

Father, as we close this prayer, assist us in surrendering all our burdens to you. Help us lay down our worries, our plans, and our fears before you, entrusting that you are in control of all. We believe that the same Jesus who was gloriously praised on the road to Jerusalem is alive and reigning today.

Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! May this truth resonate in our homes, our churches, and our hearts. May we walk in your peace, share your boundless love, and live for your everlasting glory.

In the mighty and compassionate name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray…Amen.

Everyone. Please have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
