Aug 11. Day 223. The Lord will give us peace

Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. Our prayer will be aligned with the scripture taken from John 14:27. And it reads, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” 

As we pray, let us embrace the peace of God and let it fill our hearts. The Lord does not want our hearts to be weighed down by anxiety or fear. So, His peace is a peace that goes beyond our expectations and will deliver us from the world around us.  This gift is unlike anything that the world can offer. It’s a blessed assurance.

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and peaceful Savior. Father, we come before you with grateful hearts, recognizing your sovereignty, your goodness, and your endless love toward us. Thank you for giving us the gift of prayer, a sacred moment to lay down our burdens before and receive your peace. 

Father, you are reminding us that your “Peace you leave with us; your peace, you give unto us: not as the world gives, give you unto us. Let not our heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Lord, thank you for reminding us, again and again, that your peace is not like the peace the world offers. Your peace has the power to humble our souls. 

Lord, please pour your peace into our hearts and minds. You have told us that you leave your peace with us and that you freely give it to us, a peace that supports our hearts and secures our souls. Because of your peace, help us not be troubled and not be afraid, even when the circumstances around us feel uncertain or overwhelming.

Father, you know the weight that we are carrying. You see the worries we hold tightly to and the burdens we carry deep within our hearts. Some of us are facing decisions that feel heavy, situations that feel unresolved, and seasons that feel longer than we expected. But in the midst of all of this, you are reminding us that your peace does not depend on what is happening around us. It flows from who you are and from your constant closeness to us.

Lord, Quiet the noise that distracts us from hearing your voice. Slow us when we rush ahead of your guidance, and give us patience when waiting feels difficult. Calm anxious thoughts and restless spirits. Where fear tries to take root, replace it with confidence in your promises. Where doubt clouds our vision, bring clarity and reassurance. Help us to release control and trust that you are already at work in the things we cannot see and in the answers that have not yet come. Teach us to surrender our plans, rest in the truth that you are faithful and know that you care deeply for us. For you desire what is good for each of us, and your timing is always perfect.

Lord, remember those who are hurting today. Those who feel lonely, discouraged, or unseen. Surround us with your comforting presence and remind us that we are never alone. Father, those experiencing grief, bring healing and hope. Those battling fear or uncertainty, wrap them in your peace that surpasses all understanding. Let each of us feel your nearness every day.

Father, please pour your peace into our relationships. Where there is tension, bring understanding. Where there is division, bring reconciliation. Help us to speak with kindness, listen with humility, and love with patience. Teach us to reflect your peace to others so that our words and actions become a source of encouragement and grace.

Lord, we also pray for peace beyond ourselves. We pray for peace in our families, our communities, and our world. In times of conflict and unrest, remind us that you are the ultimate source of true peace. Strengthen leaders with peace, decisions, and compassion that will inspire their hearts toward justice, mercy, and unity.

Lord, thank you for your unfailing love, your steady presence, and the gift of peace that you so generously give. Help us to carry your peace with us as we leave this moment of prayer. When fear tries to return, remind us of your promise. When our hearts feel unsettled, draw us back to your truth. May your peace guard our hearts and minds and give us courage to face each day with confidence and trust.

We choose to place our trust in you, believing that you are holding us, guiding us, and walking with us every step of the way. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior…Amen.
