Dec 18. Day 352 - Have confidence in the Lord. 1 John 3:21-22 *
“Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then we have confidence in God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.” (1 John 3:21-22)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer truly makes a difference. Keep on praying and have confidence in God. Dear friends, when our hearts do not condemn us, we can approach God with unwavering confidence. In that state of assurance, we find that whatever we ask of Him, we receive. This is because we are diligent in keeping His commandments, striving to live in a way that brings joy and satisfaction to Him. Our actions reflect our commitment to His will, and as we align ourselves with His desires, we experience the abundance of His grace and blessings in our lives.
Good morning, everyone. Let's give God thanks for another day, because he's a wonderful Savior to us, a God who knows more about us than we know about ourselves. We're going to join with the songwriter,
“Fall in love with Jesus, because he's the best thing that has ever happened to us.”
I want to welcome each and every one of you to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. Remember, I am your host. I am Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Co-Pastor of the Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in New Jersey.
Our scripture today will be taken from 1 John 3:21-22. And it reads, “Beloved, if our hearts condemn us not, then we have confidence in God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.”
God is reminding us today that we need to have confidence in. Him. We need to do what he desires for us to do. Keep his commandments, do the right thing, and we will see the blessings of God flow in our lives.
So, let’s pray
Father, we want to thank you for this day. We thank you for all your grace and your mercy and your loving kindness towards us. Lord, help us to fall in love with you. Help us to be caught up in the things of this world. Let our hearts not condemn us. Let us not do things that are not right, but help us to have confidence in you, so that your will can be accomplished in our lives. Lord, keep us praying. Keep us trusting in you. Keep us believing that you are a holy God, a God who can do the mighty work and the wonderful things that we are asking of you.
And so, Father, here we are, another day, thanking you, God, for the privilege to pray, the privilege to surrender to you, the privileged Lord God, to reach out to you with our whole heart.
And Lord God, we don't want to be caught up in the things that are not pleasing to you, but we want to have assurance in you, confident in you.
So we are praying for confidence. We are praying for a heart that will trust you. We are praying for a heart that will not give up on you, a heart that will fall in love with you each and every day. You promise us, God, that you are a lovely God, a wonderful God, a God who is protecting us, a God who is keeping us safe. And you promise that you are approachable. We can come to you, and your will be accomplished in our lives.
So, search our hearts, God. Search our mind. Reveal everything that is not pleasing to you. Every area that we are falling short.
God, we are surrendering to you and asking you to help us. Help us to fall in love with you. Help us to live a life that's pleasing to you. A life that's free from sin, free from guilt, free from disappointment, free from sadness, free from persecution, free from things that are not pleasing to you, God. So your will can be accomplished in our lives.
You are a good God, a holy God. You promise that whatever we ask, we will receive when we have done the right thing, when we are doing things that are pleasing to you. You said we can ask God, and you will intervene in whatever we are asking because we'll receive it if we have confidence in you, if our hearts have been focused on you and the things of God more than the things of this world.
You promise God to do the best thing for us. You are God who loves us, a God who wants to provide for us, a God who wants to protect us, a God who wants to keep us safe. And so God, nothing is impossible for you.
You can do more for us than we can even ask or think of. So God, help us to have confidence. Help our hearts not to be condemned with the things of this world, but help us, Lord God, to act so we can receive, because we have chosen you to be the God of our lives, the God who cares for us, the God who will do more for us than we can even do for ourselves.
So God, help us to fall in love with you. Help us, Lord God, to please you. Help us to do the things that we need to do, the things that will make you happy with us. Because you promised God to bless us with a blessing that we don't even have room enough to receive if we focus on you.
Help us to trust you wholeheartedly. Help us, God, to approach you boldly, with confidence, knowing that you will hear and answer our prayer, knowing that you will bring to pass the things of our heart's desire. You will, God, take care of us more than we can ever take care of ourselves. So guide our hearts, God. Help us to pray earnestly, to pray truly, to seek you, God, more wholeheartedly than ever before, because you have a great benefit that you want to give us so that we can even give to ourselves.
We need to honor you. We need to reflect on the love of God each day. Because God, that's why the songwriters say, fall in love with God. It's the best thing that we can ever do. Because God, in your arms, we can feel protected. In your arms, like the songwriters say, we will never be disconnected. Because God, you have so much in store for us, more than we can ever ask for and think of for ourselves.
So help us to honor you, to be faithful, to become the Prayer Warrior and the people of God. You've chosen us to become, not to take you for God or give up on. Not to take you for granted, but keep on praying and trusting you. Because you, God, promise to do the things that are pleasing in your sight.
God, you promised to take care of us, to give us happiness, joy, peace, when we have confidence in you and trust you, O heartily.
So, Lord, we thank you for this moment to pray. And God, we are lifting everyone who is listening to this prayer podcast before you, and we are asking you, Father God, to hold on to us, not let go of us, and help us not to let go of you, but help us to be protected and trust you in ways that we have never done before.
Help us to have confidence in work, confidence in the God we serve, confidence in prayer, confidence, O God, in praying, confidence in knowing that we serve a Holy, Mighty, and Wonderful God who can do mightily for us. And so we thank you for this day. In your wonderful name we pray. Amen.
Thank you, Lord.
I want to encourage everyone who is listening to this podcast. Do not give up on God. Have confidence in him. Keep on praying, and his will, will be accomplished in your life. Have a wonderful day, and we'll pray again tomorrow.
