Jan 29 - Day 29 God's Desires. 2 Samuel 14:14
“Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But that is not what God desires; rather, he devises ways so that a banished person does not remain banished from him.” (2 Samuel 14:14)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Keep on praying. It is not God's will for us to perish. He wants us to be holy. Just as water spilled upon the ground cannot be gathered back, our lives are fleeting and death is an inevitable part of existence. However, this is not the desire of God; instead, He seeks to provide pathways for reconciliation and restoration. He yearns for those who feel separated or alienated to find their way back to Him, ensuring that even those who feel banished are not forsaken, but rather embraced with grace and hope.
Good morning, everyone. With God, all things are possible. Today, we are praying and surrendering to the Lord.
This is the 29th day of the year, and God is still in our present, still with us.
Remember, I am your host. I am Dr. Victoria Haddad, the first lady and prayer warrior of Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in New Jersey.
Today, we can pray with assurance, regardless of the struggles of life, because God is in control.
Our scripture will be taken from 2 Samuel 14:14. And it reads, “Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But that is not what God desires; rather, he devises ways so that a banished person does not remain banished from him.”
We are redeemed. Life sometimes brings difficulties and sends us in the direction that God does not have in store for us. He desires to bless us and prosper us. He's a mighty God who can do more for us than we can do for ourselves.
So, let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, our gracious God, glorious Savior, wonderful Counselor.
Lord, we thank you for all that you have done for us, and we thank you for another opportunity to come into your presence.
Lord, sometimes life seems unworthy. Sometimes we don't know what the future has in store for us. Sometimes we regret the issues in life. But thank you for reminding us that, no matter what life throws our way, you are God, who is able to do more than we can think or act on. So, remind us of your greatness. Remind us of how holy you are. Help us to remember that you set us free because of your desire to do great for us.
So, help us, God, to become more like you. Help us to lay aside every weight, everything that is not yours. And help us to pray earnestly. Help us not to give up on you. Not to stop praying because we are who we are because of you. We are where we are because of you. We are thankful because of your hope and your mercies that will carry us through to where we are today.
We thank you, Lord. It seems like a time when the struggles of life are too much. Oh God, we are haunted sometimes by things of the past. But God, like the songwriter, you are protecting us, you are helping us, and you are covering us under your blood because you are God.
Father, you say, as water spills on the ground and cannot be gathered again, so our lives are fleeting at times. Sometimes, we encounter issues that we can't seem to control. Issues of separation and division that we just can't come back together. Oh, God, sometimes we lose others that we thought were close. But God, you are reminding us that no matter what issues come our way, you are God.
Father, you are saying, despise the shortness and the difficulties and the failures that we are encountering or going through, you are going to reach out to us. You are going to surrender to us. Because you want us to seek you, because you are going to bring us back to the place that you have in store for us. You are going to redeem us. You are going to set us free. You are going to deliver us. You are going to break every chain that the enemy has in store for us and get us back to the place we ought to be in you.
Oh God, so all our lives, sometimes we go through unworthy and difficulties. But God, we are not forgetting about you. Help us not to give up on you. Help us not to forget that we serve a mighty and wonderful God.
God, we are praying for your forgiveness today. And we are asking you to restore us, to draw us closer to you. Every year that we fail, God brings us back to where we ought to be.
Help us to have virtue in you, to value you each day, to glorify you each day, to thank you each day. Thank you for your protection. Thank you for your grace and your mercy. Thank you for your compassion. Thank you for setting us free, for redeeming us, for breaking every chain in our lives, for breaking every chain in our lives, and for breaking every stronghold that the enemy has put on us. Thank you, Lord God, for all that you have done for us, for bringing us hope, for bringing us healing.
Remember everyone who is sick in their mind, body, soul, and spirit. Send our healing power throughout each and every one of us. God, purge us, deliver us, and set us free. Help us to have hope and to know that we are not abandoned. We are not lost. You have not given up on us, but we are redeemed because your power has set us free.
Your power is to use us. Your power is to deliver us. Your power is to remind us that even when life seems difficult, and struggles, and difficult issues, we can trust you because your will is to keep us confident in you.
Help us to keep on praying. Help us, Lord God, to remember that you are a confident, mighty, and powerful God.
Father, you know more about us than we know about ourselves. So, help us to stay connected to you and remain spiritually.
Lord, we are praying for your protection over our family, protection over our leaders, protection over our children, protection over everyone who is praying and listening to this podcast, protection over our friends near and far. God, we are asking you to move by your power and keep each and every one of us safe.
God, help us not to drift away from you, but always remember that you are a redeeming power, a mighty Savior, a wonderful God, a God who will not give up on us.
And so Father God, when the issues of life and difficulties hit, come to us as it seems attacking or attackable to our lives, help us not to doubt you. Help us to know that you will break every chain, you will break every difficulty, you will break every issue of life, and you will set us free, because you are God, who deserves all the praise and glory.
And you have not banished us, you have not given up on us. But God, you are still God and still worthy. So, we thank you for everything, and we thank you for this moment to pray.
Help us to have a great day in your powerful name, we pray. Amen.
I want to encourage everyone who is praying. Don't just give up on God. Keep on praying, and God will do mighty things in your life. Have a wonderful day. We will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
