Mar 19 – Day 78. God is our Sun and Shield. Psalm 84.11-12

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.” (Psalm 84:11-12)

Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer is effective. For the Lord God shines like the sun, radiant and powerful, serving as a shield of protection for those who seek refuge in Him. He bestows grace and glory upon His faithful followers, ensuring that no good thing is withheld from those who strive to live righteously and walk in alignment with His teachings. Blessed is the man who places his trust in the Lord of hosts, for in that trust lies strength, hope, and the promise of divine support.

Good morning, everyone. Let's give God thanks for another day, his mercy, and his love that He's bestowing upon us. 

Welcome, everyone, to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast.
 
Remember, I am your host. I am Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Co-Pastor of Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in New Jersey. Today is the 78th day of the year, and God has not given up on us.
 
As we go through this day, we can celebrate the goodness of God. I know sometimes life is not perfect, but God is still good to us because of His goodness. 

Our scripture today will be taken from Psalm 84:11-12. And it read, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusted in thee.” 
 
 God is giving us assurance that no good thing will be withheld from us if we make the decision to totally surrender to him. 

So let us pray
 
Father, we thank you for all that you have done for us. We thank you for reminding us that you are everlasting Father, our Heavenly God, our King of kings, and our Lord of lords. 

Lord, thank you for another day and another moment to pray, another moment to surrender to you and give you thanks for your blessing, your protection, and your goodness towards us.
 
Lord, we know that there's none like you, and we know that there's none that can be compared to you, for you are our strength, our shield, our guidance, and our protection. Lord God, if it had not been for you, we would not be here today.
 
Lord God, you are reminding us that no matter what life has in store, you are our sun and you are our shield. God, you have the power to protect us, to keep us safe, to cover us under your blood, to wrap us in your shield, and guide us as we go to this day. God, give us grace and glory that is due unto your holy name, for you have the power.
 
Lord God, you are reminding us that no good thing will you withhold from us who walk uprightly before you because it's your desire to help us become the people you're destined for us to become.

Oh, God help us to be wholeheartedly and trust you. To understand that nothing that's not of you can come nigh us, because you will intervene on our behalf. You will make way for us so that we don't even think it's possible.
 
Lord God, You will open the door for us. You will shower us with blessings that only you alone can provide because you are our shield. You are our protector. You are our God. You are our Savior. You are our deliverer.
 
 Lord God, we are praying today. Teach us how to love you. Teach us how to pray earnestly. Teach us how to fully surrender to you. Teach us, oh God, not to put things ahead of you, but seek you first. 

Help us to remember that nothing is impossible for you, that you will not give up on us because you want us to be holy, and you're reminding us that you will protect all of us and keep us safe if we humble ourselves and surrender fully to you. If we are upright, if we are not sinning, if we are not doing things that are ungodly, we can trust in your divine intervention in our lives. 

So today, God, we are praying for everyone who is seeking you, everyone who is praying, everyone who is listening to this podcast. We are asking you, God, to cover every one of us under your blood. Keep us safe from danger seen and unseen.
 
 God, you know what this day has in store. And we are coming to you, surrendering to you, asking for your guidance, because we want your will, Father God, to be accomplished in our lives. We don't want to drift away from you. We want your protection, your guidance, and your deliverance. 

Oh, Father God, because you have been good. You know difficulties. You know sadness. You know everything that's not of you. God, remove it and help us grow spiritually. Help us become the people you have destined us to become. 

Help us, Lord God, to trust you always. In all the ways, acknowledge you, so that you can direct our path. And Lord God, we thank you for all the blessings that you'll be storing upon us. Thank you for all the blessings that you are providing us. Thank you for all the blessings that you have for us. Thank you, Lord God, for not letting us go, not passing us by, but being good to us, because we want your will to be accomplished in our lives. 

Cover our family under your blood. Cover everyone who is listening to this podcast under your blood. Cover all of our leaders under your blood. And Lord God, let your will be accomplished in our lives. Because by your strength, by your power, oh God, we are protected. By your shield, we can have a comfortable day. In your holy name we pray…Amen.
