Jun 7 - Day 158. Acknowledge the Lord.

Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. As mentioned earlier, our prayers throughout the year will be taken from the 66 books of the Bible. We began in the book of Genesis and will conclude in the book of Revelation. 

Today, we are diving into the book of Hosea, our scripture will be taken from Hosea 6:3. And it reads, “Let us acknowledge the Lord; press on to acknowledge him. As the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” 

As we pray, let us take a moment to recognize the Lord and actively seek a deeper relationship with him. Just as the sun rises each day, bringing light and warmth, the Lord will make his presence known to us. Like the refreshing winter rains that nourish the parched ground, or the gentle spring rains that awaken new life, the Lord will come to us, refresh our spirits, and renew our hearts, much like the life-giving waters that sustain the earth.

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you with humble hearts, thirsting for a deeper connection with you. Father, “Let us acknowledge the Lord; press on to acknowledge Him. As the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” 

Lord, we acknowledge that you are God above all, faithful, unchanging, merciful, and truthful. You are the Creator who spoke light into the depths of darkness, the One who coordinates the space with accuracy, and the Loving Father who bends down to hear the cries of his people. You know our deepest needs, even before we utter a word. You are aware of our weaknesses and joys, and through it all, your nature remains unbroken. 

Father, help us to anchor our hearts and minds in you. Help us not to drift away, or allow distractions to cloud our thoughts, anxieties to weigh heavily on our hearts, and burdens to weigh heavily on our spirits. Lord, help us to turn our faces toward you, like flowers stretching toward the warmth of the sun. Remind us that as dawn breaks, your radiant presence rises upon us, bringing hope and renewal. 

Father, we are grateful for the multitude of mercies you shower upon us each day, often unnoticed. Thank you for saving us, comforting us, providing for us, and guiding us even when we are unaware of your hand at work. Open our eyes, Lord, to see you woven into every detail of our lives. We long for your presence like parched earth longs for refreshing rain. Please come to us like the gentle winter rains, reviving and nourishing the roots of our souls. Wash over us with your profound mercy, cleansing us of the dust of sin, lifting the weight of guilt, and easing the weariness that comes from trying in our own strength. Let your living water flow deep within us, rejuvenating our spirits and breathing new life into our hope.

Lord, thank you for the abundance of your spring rains, which nourish our growth and cultivate fruitfulness. Help us to plant seeds of faith, so that there may be a rich harvest of joy. In moments when we have labored earnestly in prayer, let us witness the blossoms of your goodness breaking forth in our lives. 

Lord, water our families, our homes, our communities, and our churches, nurturing growth and unity among us. Let us glorify you in all that we do, for you are our healer, the one who binds up our wounds, distributes comfort, and breathes strength and restoration into our lives. Like the rains that never falter, your presence is a constant source of refreshment, arriving in perfect timing to rejuvenate our spirits.

Lord, you are our Redeemer, the steadfast One who transforms ashes into radiant beauty. In moments when we recognize failure, you reveal the hidden victory waiting to be recognized. Where our eyes focus on the seemingly impossible, you ignite a flicker of hope that motivates us forward. Teach us, O Lord, to place our trust in you wholeheartedly, to cling to your promises, and to march onward even when the path ahead covers itself in uncertainty. Help us to recognize your presence in every aspect of our lives, so you can guide our steps along the way.

Father, we honor you as our wise teacher. Please light our hearts with the truth that only you can provide. Let your Word serve as a guiding lamp, illuminating our feet and casting light upon our journey. Soften the hardness of our hearts, making them receptive to your gentle correction, and instill within us the courage to follow your ways, even when the distractions of this world pull us in different directions.

Lord, grant us the spiritual determination to carry the living water to those who thirst for nourishment of the soul. Help us to become vessels of encouragement, peacemakers amidst chaos, and bearers of hope to those living in despair. Father, your endurance in our striving never vanishes, and for that, we are grateful. Thank you for continually inviting us to the warmth of your presence, rejoicing over our lives with songs of joy. 

Lord, as the sun rises each day, painting the sky with shades of gold and pink, remind us of your unwavering love. As the rains fall upon the earth, remind us that your faithfulness will never abandon us. Keep our hearts open and eager to receive the refreshing showers of your grace. Allow us to acknowledge you in all that we do, fabricating your presence into our lives.
