Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Joel 2:28, and it reads, “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”
The Lord is pouring his Spirit upon all humanity. In this divine outpouring, our sons and daughters will proclaim truths and share visionary insights, while our older men will experience visions in their dreams, reflecting wisdom and understanding gained through the years.
As we pray, let us remember that the Lord will use everyone, regardless of age. Young men will be inspired to see visions of possibility and hope, exploding a new generation of creativity and purpose.
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you with our hearts open wide, humbled by your presence, and hungry for more of you. Lord, you are faithful to every generation, steadfast in your promises, and merciful in your ways. You are reminding us that “it shall come to pass afterward that you, God, will pour out your Spirit on all flesh; Our sons and our daughters shall prophesy, old men shall dream dreams, and young men shall see visions.”
Lord, you are not a God of empty promises, but a God who fulfills every word you speak. We believe that in our time, in our families, in our communities, and even in our world, you are pouring out your spirit in powerful ways.
Father, we are praying for that outpouring now. Let no heart be left untouched. Please pour your Spirit out on all flesh, not just on a few, not just on the strong or the learned, but on every son and daughter, every child and elder, every seeker and wanderer, every person who calls on your name.
Lord, anoint, protect, and guide us. We are praying for the young generation rising, the sons and daughters. The world sometimes offers counterfeit pleasures and seeks to distract us from our calling. But you, God, are raising up prophets among us. You are giving us voices that carry truth, boldness to declare your word, and compassion that reflects your heart. May our mouths be filled with prophecy and our words restore hope and point others to you.
Lord, we are praying for the old men who dream dreams. Many of them may feel forgotten, overlooked, or weary. But you promise that our latter days will be filled with visions from above. Lord, awaken our hearts with divine dreams, dreams of revival, dreams of reconciliation, dreams of healing, and dreams of restoration. Let our dreams not fade away but come alive with clarity, so we can pass on wisdom and faith to the generations that follow.
Father, you know the young men who will see visions. We are praying for clarity in confusing times. Grant us holy visions of what will come to pass when you break into our world. Lift our eyes above the noise of culture and the chaos of life, and let us behold the glimpses of heaven. Let our visions inspire action, and our boldness bring change, and our zeal be tempered with humility.
Lord, please remember those on the borders, those broken by addiction, those bound by shame, those carrying wounds unseen. Pour out your spirit on all. Lord, heal, redeem, and restore. Those who feel unworthy or too far gone. Father, show them that your spirit is not withheld from the imperfect, but poured out because of your perfect love.
Lord, let your presence fall in our homes, in our churches, in our schools, and in our workplaces. Transform our atmosphere and bring light into the darkest corners. Break down the walls of division and bring us together as one family. Let the spirit of prophecy, of dreams, and of visions bind us closer and not tear us apart. Teach us to discern what you are saying and to encourage one another with what you reveal.
Lord, we are praying for revival, just as the disciples on the day of Pentecost were filled with the Spirit and spoke with tongues. We ask that you give us the same fire. Let us not drop back in fear or hesitation, but help us to step forward with confidence in the power of the Holy Spirit. Fill our lips with words of truth and our lives with acts of love.
Father, let the dreams of the old ignite hope, and let the visions of the young direct our path forward. Help us to be patient and faithful. Teach us to stay in your presence, to listen to your voice, and to respond in obedience. Remind us that your spirit is not limited to moments of great power, but is with us, always.
Lord, we close this prayer with gratitude. Thank you for promising to pour out your spirit. Thank you for reminding us that no one is ignored, no one is forgotten, and no one is beyond your reach. You are a God who gives generously, and your Spirit is still alive and moving today.
Lord, with open hands and open hearts. Come, Holy Spirit. Fill us, transform us, and use us as only you alone can. Let our lives be living testimonies of your power and your love.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Please have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
