Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Malachi 3:17, and it reads: “They shall be mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them my jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.”

The Lord is reminding us that prayer is a powerful and transformative practice. When we earnestly seek God's guidance in our lives, we open ourselves to the abundance of protection and grace that He offers. The Lord will protect and cherish us, just as a father treasures and safeguards his beloved child. God promises to surround us with His care and protection, especially when we are steadfast in our faith.

As we pray, let us remember that through prayer, we not only strengthen our relationship with God but also gain the assurance that we are valued and protected like treasured jewels in His sight.

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we are approaching you with our hearts bowed in gratitude and reverence. Thank you for the richness of your promises, “We shall be your, on the day that you will make us your jewels. And you will spare us as a man spares his own son who serves him.”

Lord, we are grateful for the constant reminder that we belong to you. In a world that often feels uncertain and chaotic, where myriad voices pull us in countless directions, you steadfastly affirm our true identity. We are not forgotten in the shadows. We are not abandoned in the wilderness. We are yours, chosen, beloved, and precious in your sight.

Lord, just as a skilled jeweler carefully searches for rare and exquisite gems, honing their brilliance and setting them in places of honor, so you have lovingly proclaimed us as your jewels. Even in moments when we struggle to feel worthy, and our flaws seem to multiply like shadows, you see beyond the rough exteriors. You perceive the beauty that resides within us. You recognize the purpose you complexly wove into our lives long before the foundations of the world were laid. Father, help us to see ourselves through your loving eyes, not as unused stones, but as treasured jewels, crafted and refined by your gentle hand.

Lord, in this moment, we are lifting our hearts to you, feeling the weight of our burdens. The trials of life can often feel like a consuming fire, but we are trusting in your divine wisdom, knowing that each flame serves as a purpose. Fire refines gold, and immense pressure transforms stones into brilliant diamonds. Lord, we believe that every hardship we endure, every tear we shed, and every unanswered prayer is shaping us into the gorgeous jewels you take delight in. Teach us to hold fast to this sincere truth, especially when the path is darkened.

Father, you also promise that you will spare us as a man spares his own son who serves him. We thank you for your wondrous mercy. Through Jesus Christ, we are not treated according to our sins, but rather as cherished children. Just as an earthly parent yearns to protect, nurture, and guide their child, how much more do you, our perfect and loving Father, surround us with compassion. Today, we rest in your boundless mercy, choosing to release the guilt, shame, and fear that burden us, and instead embrace your forgiveness and tender love.

Lord, we are also lifting before you those among us who feel unworthy of being called your jewel. For those who feel overlooked, may they find reassurance in knowing they are seen. For those who feel shattered, remind them that they are being lovingly restored. For the one who feels distant, reassure them that nothing, absolutely nothing, can separate them from your love. Wrap your arms of mercy around each of us each day, for we are unmistakably yours.

Lord, grant us the courage to live as your jewels in this world. May our lives radiate with such brilliance that others are drawn not to us, but to you. Empower us to love our neighbors unconditionally, to speak words of kindness instead of harshness, and to extend grace where it is undeserved, just as you have so generously poured grace upon us. Mold us into living reminders of your mercy and reflections of your radiant beauty.

Father, on that glorious day when you gather your jewels, may we be found faithful. May we be counted among those who revered the Lord and spoke often to one another about your goodness. Until that day arrives, keep us steadfast, nurturing our faith. Surround us with your peace and teach us to keep our gaze fixed on the eternal promise you have granted us.

Lord, thank you for the enormous privilege of being called your children, your servants, your jewels. May this profound truth take root deep within our hearts, reshaping the way we navigate through every trial and every moment of joy. Let it remind us of our worth when the world whispers otherwise. May it comfort us in moments of uncertainty and anchor us when the storms of life arise.

Lord, we take refuge in your presence. We rest in the unshakable truth that we belong to you, not just for a fleeting moment, but for all eternity.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, we pray… Amen.

Everyone. Please have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
