Aug 1 - Day 213. Pray and believe in the Power of God

Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. As August begins, we find ourselves in the heart of summer, a delightful month. As we step into the beautiful month, let us pray without ceasing. 

Our prayer will be aligned with the scripture taken from John 6:36-37, and it reads, “But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me, will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”

The Lord wants us to pray with confidence and hold on to his power. He is encouraging us to believe in him. It is important to understand that everything that the Father entrusts to us will come to pass. 

As we pray, let us remember that the Lord is assuring us that anyone who approaches him with a sincere heart will never be turned away or rejected, no matter our past or our doubts; he is still God, and he is still looking out for our best interests.

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God and Wonderful Savior. Father, we come before you in this sacred moment with our hearts full of gratitude, reverence, and astonishment. Lord, there is no one like you. You are our Creator, our Sustainer, our Redeemer, and our everlasting hope. Father, we are lifting our voices and our hearts to you, acknowledging that everything we have is a gift from you, and every blessing we receive is a reflection of your goodness and mercy.

Lord, thank you for reminding us that at times “we have seen you and yet we do not believe. All that you, Father, have given unto us will come to pass, and the one who comes to you will by no means be cast out.” Lord, we are coming before you today with open hearts. For you are holding us so securely in your arms. How comforting it is to know that you will never turn away those who come to you. You are faithful, compassionate, and steadfast. 

Lord, help us to acknowledge that you are here, that you see us fully, and that you welcome us just as we are. There is no place we could go where you are not already present, and there is no part of our lives that is hidden from your loving arms. Help us to choose to step away from noise, distraction, and striving. 

Father, thank you for reminding us that even when we have seen you, we still struggle to believe. We admit that there are moments when our eyes have witnessed your faithfulness, yet our hearts hesitate in trusting you. There are times when we remember past deliverance, answered prayers, and clear evidence of your hand, and still fear rises within us. Lord, sometimes doubt can feel louder than trust, and uncertainty clouds what we know to be true.

Lord, have mercy on us in our unbelief. Do not turn away from us when our faith feels small or fragile. Instead, meet us at the point of our needs. Teach us that belief is not about having perfect certainty, but about turning toward you, even when we don’t know what the result will be. Help us to believe with our hearts, our actions, and our daily choices.

Jesus, you told us that all whom the Father gives to you will come to you. Thank you for comforting our souls and reminding us that our coming to you is not an accident, but rather by your grace, which we did not create for ourselves. Thank you for choosing us, for calling us, and for drawing us closer to you even when we are wandering away from you.

Lord, you promise that when we come to you, you will never cast us out. There is no failure too great, no sin too heavy, and no past too broken that is beyond your mercy. You do not reject us, and you do not measure our worth by our performance. Instead, you love and receive us because of who you are, not because of what we have done.

Lord, help us to truly believe your words. Heal the places where we expect rejection because of our past hurt or disappointment. Restore the places where trust has been broken in our lives by people or circumstances. Teach us to rest in the assurance that your arms are always open, that your heart is always inclined toward mercy, and that your love does not waver away from us.

Lord, we are lifting everything before you. Father, you see our situations that feel unresolved, our prayers that seem unanswered, and our hopes that feel delayed. Give us eyes to see you at work even when the outcome is unclear. Give us patience to wait without despair and courage to keep praying even when the path feels uncertain.

Father, strengthen our faith and reveal your faithfulness. Help us to remember that you are not absent and that you are not inactive. Teach us to listen for your voice, to recognize your peace, and to trust in your timing even when it is difficult to see.

Lord, please help us not to try to figure everything out. Help us to pray even when we have unanswered questions, even when we have doubts, and even when we have an incomplete understanding. For you are still with us, welcoming us home. Thank you for reminding us that your grace is sufficient in our weakness and that your power is made perfect in our times of need. 

Lord, shape our hearts, renew our minds, and deepen our faith. When we forget who you are, remind us. When we feel distant, draw us close. Anchor us in the promise that we belong to you and that nothing can separate us from your love.

Lord, in closing, we lay everything before you. We surrender ourselves to you. Let our doubts, our hopes, our fears, and our faith all rest in your hands. Help us to believe that you are good, that you are faithful, and that you will never cast us out when we come to you. We thank you for your mercy that endures forever and for your love that never fails. Help us surrender and rest in the knowledge that you are working all things together for our good and for your glory.

We pray all in the powerful, mighty, and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior…Amen.
