Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from John 10:28. And it reads, “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
The Lord is encouraging us that no matter what we are going through. We should have faith in him, knowing that he will never allow us to perish, but he will give us strength.
As we pray, let us put our faith in the Lord, for he is granting us everlasting life, and we will never be lost; for no one can take us away from his presence.
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you with grateful hearts, thankful for the gift of prayer and for your loving presence that surrounds us even when we are unaware of it. Father, we are so thankful for this day. Thank you for waking us up with the desire to pray. Thank you for the desire to seek you and the desire to surrender fully to you. We are also thankful for the gift of eternal life that you are promising us.
Lord, thank you for reminding us that you are not distant or indifferent, but attentive, faithful, and deeply invested in every life you have created. You are the God who promises eternal life, as a sure and living foundation. You are reminding us that you will “give us eternal life and we will never perish, for our lives are held securely in your hands.”
Lord, help us to always be encouraged in your word and take assurance that you are giving us eternal life, not because you want us to perish, not because you want us to fall short, but because you want us to have everlasting life with you. You want us to hold on to you, because no one will be able to stretch us out of your hands. No one can fully remove us from you, because your desire is for us to trust you, so that your will can be accomplished in our lives.
Father, help us to find comfort in you, to find comfort in your knowledge, to find comfort in the eternal life that you have given to us. In a world that often feels uncertain and fragile, this promise stabilizes us and reminds us that our existence is not random and that our future is not left to chance. Lord, we belong to you, and because we belong to you, we are safe beyond what we can see or understand. Sometimes fear overwhelms us. Sometimes we worry about what we might lose, about the things we cannot control, about the future that feels unclear. We don’t want failure, rejection, sickness, grief, or even death. But in the midst of all these fears, you are assuring us that no one can snatch us from your hand. Nothing and no one has the power to separate us from your love.
Lord, thank you for the strength of your control, a grip not of force, but of faithful care. Your hand is steady when ours tremble. Your hold does not loosen when we stumble. Even when we wander, even when our faith feels thin or weary, you do not let us go. You remain constant, guarding our lives with your love that does not depend on our perfection.
Lord, help us to trust more deeply in the gift of eternal life. Let this promise shape the way we live. When we live in fear, remind us that our lives are anchored in eternity. When we feel forgotten, remind us that we are treasured beyond measure. When sorrow touches our hearts, remind us that you have the power to control us even in death.
Lord, remember those who are weary, those who feel worn down by responsibility, by grief, and by illness. Those who feel lost or far from you. Those who doubt your promises or struggle to believe they are worthy of your love. Lord, draw all of us closer to you. Let us feel your presence and help us to remember that eternal life is a gift, not something to be earned, and that your hand is open to receive us. Wrap us in the assurance that we are held in your hand.
Lord, teach us to rest in your promises rather than striving in our own strength. Teach us to surrender the idea of control and to trust that our lives are safest when placed in your care. Help us to release the things we cling to, knowing that what you give is far greater and more secure than anything we could hold on our own.
Lord, thank you for the hope of eternal life. Because of you, these are no longer reasons for despair, but places where our faith can be revealed more clearly.
Lord, shape our hearts to live as people who trust in you. Let our words, our actions, and our choices be guided by the knowledge that we are held by you. Help us to extend that same compassion and assurance to others, becoming reflections of your love.
Lord, as we close this prayer, thank you for the peace that comes from knowing we are yours. We rest in your promise, confident that nothing can take us from you.
In Jesus Christ's precious name, we pray…Amen.
Everyone, please have a blessed day, and we will pray again tomorrow, by God’s grace.
