Aug 6 - Day 218. In my Father's house are many mansions.

Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. Our prayer will be aligned with the scripture taken from John 14:2-3. And it reads, “In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” 

The Lord is preparing a place for us. A sanctuary where we will find peace and belonging. And when that place is ready, the Lord promises to return and take us to himself, so that we can join him in that home.

As we pray, let us give God thanks, for where he is, surrounded by love and light, there we will also be, fully embraced and welcomed.

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Redeemer. Father, we come before you with hearts overflowing with gratitude. We acknowledge that every moment we live, and every blessing we enjoy is a gift from you. Father, thank you for your unfailing love, the love that never grows weary and never gives up on us. Even when we stumble, even when we fall short, you are extending your hand to lift us up. You clothe us in your mercy and surround us with your grace. Thank you for being the God who never leaves nor forsakes us.

Lord, we admit that the burdens of life can feel heavy, and the road ahead can seem unclear. But in those moments, help us to remember your holy promise. For you are reminding us that “in our Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, you would have told us. For you, Lord, went to prepare a place for us. And if you go and prepare a place for us, you will come again and receive us to yourself, that where you are, there we will be also.”

Lord, what comfort these words bring us, to know that you, our Savior, have gone before us, to prepare a dwelling place, not temporary, not unstable, but eternal, secure, and filled with your glory. Thank you for reminding us that this world is not our final home. We are travelers, passing through, looking forward to a city whose builder and maker is you, our Lord God.

Lord Jesus, we long for the day when you will return in majesty and power. We long to see you face to face, to be welcomed into your presence, to be free from pain and sorrow. So, we are praying and asking for your strength. Until that glorious day comes, fill our hearts with hope. Let us not grow weary in well-doing. Let us not become discouraged by the weight of this world. 

Father, guide our steps each day. When we walk through valleys or climb mountains that seem too high, strengthen us. When we feel alone, surround us with your presence. Lord, help us to live each day with joy. Comfort the brokenhearted and let our lives be testimonies of your goodness and grace.

Father, remember our families, our friends, those we hold close, and those who feel far away. Protect all of us from harm. Draw our hearts closer to you. For those who are struggling with illness, bring healing. For those weighed down with sorrow, bring comfort. For those wrestling with doubt, bring faith. For those who feel lost, give them the assurance of your guiding light.

Lord, we believe that even in the moment of disorder, you are still sovereign. You are still at work, bringing redemption, calling us your people to yourself, and preparing the way. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Lord, help us to be faithful stewards of the time you have given us. Help us to walk in love, to forgive as you have forgiven us, to serve with humility, and to rejoice in hope. Give us the courage to share the gospel, the patience to wait on your timing, and the perseverance to endure until the end.

Father, as we rest in your promises with anticipation. We know that the day will come when every tear will be wiped away, when death will be no more, when mourning and crying will cease, and when all things will be made new. What a glorious day that will be. 

Lord, until then, keep us faithful, keep us hopeful, and keep us close to you. We pray in the mighty and powerful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…Amen.
