Oct 1 – Day 274. Walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-
“This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)
Welcome to another month. Today is the beginning of October, a month of celebration. Pray with assurance, walk in the spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
This verse signifies a transformative path that steers us away from worldly desires and guides us towards a deeper connection with the Lord.
It is inviting us to embrace a life led by the Spirit of God. I know we want to live by God’s Spirit and become the people of God, as He has destined us to become.
So, we are going to walk in the Spirit, which is not just a prompt to take action, but to transform our lives. So, we can become the people God destined us to become.
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another uplifting episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today marks not only a brand-new day but also the beginning of October.
October 1st is the 274th day of the year. As we embark on this new month, let’s take a moment to celebrate God’s goodness and show our gratitude for all that He has done in our lives.
I’m truly honored to be your host, I am Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, NJ.
It fills me with much joy to start this day, this morning, with gratitude, praying and celebrating the wonderful day that God had made.
As we discussed before, each of the 66 books in the Bible highlights the incredible power of prayer. Today, we are praying and focusing on Galatians 5:16, and it reads:
“This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
This verse invites us to embrace a life led by the Spirit of God. I know we want to live by God’s Spirit and I know we want to become the people of God, as He has destined for us to become.
So, we are going to walk in the Spirit, not just a prompt to take action, but to transform our lives. So, we can become the people God destined us to become.
Today, let’s pray with confidence and ask the Lord to help us walk in the Spirit.
Let us pray.
Dear Everlasting Father, our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you today with our hearts overflowing with gratitude. We are praying and fully surrendering to you, because you are a wonderful Savior, a God who knows more about us than we know about ourselves.
Father, thank you for this day. Thank you for the dawn of this new month, a fresh day that you have attained before the foundation of the world. You have kept us through the previous month, the previous year, and have never let us go nor forsaken us. Even when we did not feel your presence or understand what was taking place in our lives. You were there with us.
And so today, we are thanking you, God, and praying for a connection with you. We want to be more like you. Help our family to grow together, our friendship, to expand with our friends and leaders, cover our ministries under your blood, our communities under your blood. And God, you have created us for a purpose, so fulfill that purpose in our lives.
You know the plans you have in store for each and every one of us. So Lord, we are praying and asking you to help us to cherish our relationship with you, help us to cherish those around us, help us to grow spiritually, help us to walk in love, and to be patient with each other. Never give up on you, Father God.
Lord, we are praying that you navigate us and help us to navigate the complexity of this life. This world is filled with distractions, filled with temptations, and there are ever-changing issues flowing in and out of this world. But God, we are holding on to your word. We are trusting you, we are believing you, and we are taking you at your word. Help us to walk in your spirit daily, so your Holy Spirit, God, can rise, above our fear, and we can resist temptation. Overcome every snare that the enemy may set before us, and become the people you're destined for us to become.
Give us the strength we need to seek your guidance and make decisions that are pleasing to you in every decision. Transform our minds with heavenly wisdom, and give us understanding to truly know you, understanding to truly grow, understanding God to become the people you destined for us to become, that we won't give up on you, but we will know you fully, because you are God who knows everything about us.
You are God who understands us more than we understand ourselves. And so, Lord God, we are praying today, Father, and asking you for wisdom in time of confusion, when the noise of this world is loud, and our hearts are weary, give us the discernment and the strength we need to recognize your skill, and listen to your small voice. Help us to hear your word, to hear you clearly, to follow your will without hesitation.
Remove every fear, remove every doubt, remove every voice and everything that's not of you that does not align to your will, and surround us with your peace and your mercy that surpasses all understanding. Guard our hearts against deceit and the wickedness of evil, so we can become the saints you're destined for us to become, so that we can be holy, so we can be right, so we can live a life that's pleasing to you.
Father, we are praying, let our actions be a reflection of your love. Let our words be seasoned with grace, and our attitude reflect your kindness, gentleness, and compassion. Father, let others see your light shining within us so that they, too, can be joined closer to you and glorify you. Teach us the true meaning of love.
Hallelujah, God. Let your love perfect our weakness, so that we can become vessels of honor and instruments of grace wherever we go and whatever we do.
Father, equip us with compassion and understanding to love others the way you have loved us. Even when it's hard, even when we feel like they're doing wrong, even when we feel weary, help us to love unconditionally, to intercede for those who may not have done the right thing to us, those who have hurt us, or mistreated us. We lift them up before you and ask you, God, to give us the courage and the grace and the love that we need to look beyond their fault and see their need.
Oh, Father God, fill us with amazing love, a love that is patient, a love that is kind, a love that is not easily provoked, a love that will keep us as a record of your righteousness in times when things don't seem perfect.
Help us, Father God, to find joy and contentment even when trials approach us. Help us to find joy in you. Happiness in you, courage in you. Help us to withstand the issues of life and to be firmly rooted in your grace and your faithfulness. Help us to trust you in every situation we face today. You know what this day has in store.
And God, we want to grow spiritually. We want to become the people you're destined for us to become. So let this be a day where your power can move in a mighty way because you're a wonderful God. Father, we pray and surrender this entire month into your hands. We surrender this day, this week, into your hands.
Oh God, we are praying that this new day. Oh Father God, your mighty hands will wrap around us and cover us from danger seen and unseen. Protect us.
Be our shield. Be our God, our handle in a time of need. Oh God, protect us from danger seen and unseen.
Cover our home under your blood, our family under your blood. Remove sickness, remove doubt, remove fear, remove disappointment. Give us the strength to rise up and become the people you're destined for us to become. Cover our leaders under your blood. And everyone that's praying and seeking your direction, Father, cover them under your blood. I thank you, Lord, for listening to our prayer.
I thank you for assuring us that you, God, is right here. And when we call on you, you will answer. When we surrender, you will give us great things because your desire is to show us great and mighty things that we do not know or comprehend or fully understand because of the plans you have for us.
And so, Lord, we surrender fully to you. And pray, Lord God, in the powerful and mighty name that you have given us in your holy name, we pray, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen, amen, and amen.
Lord, I want to thank you for each and every day. And I want to thank you for everyone listening to this prayer podcast. Cover us all in your blood and help us to have a great day, and pray again tomorrow by your grace, in Jesus' name, amen.
Everyone, please take care, and we will pray again tomorrow. God bless you, bye-bye.
