Oct6- Day 279. Exceedingly Greatness. Ephesians 1:18-19-

“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.” (Ephesians 1:18-19)

The eyes of your understanding must be opened and illuminated so that you may grasp the profound hope that comes from his divine calling. It is essential to comprehend the magnificent wealth and glory of the inheritance he promises to his saints—the dedicated followers who strive to live according to his teachings. Furthermore, you should recognize the immeasurable greatness of his power that is directed toward those of us who believe. This power operates effectively and dynamically, showcasing the extraordinary might and strength of his divine capabilities.

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast. We thank God for another day and another moment to celebrate his goodness. Today is October 6th, the 279th day of the year, and we’re truly blessed to gather once again. 

I’m Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic, in Salem, NJ. It brings me great joy to pray and rejoice with each and every one of you.

Prayer is a remarkable source of strength that will emerge when we connect with God. We are never alone, never alone in our struggles, and never alone with the challenges of life.

Today, our scripture will be taken from Ephesians 1:18-19, which reads: “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.”

As we pray, let us open our hearts to the wisdom of God, deepen our faith, and connect with the Lord. Today, let’s unite in prayer, seek guidance, hope, and the presence of the Lord in our lives as we go through this day. 

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Alpha and Omega, our Sovereign, and Everlasting God. We come before you with our hearts overflowing with gratitude and deep reverence. We bow before your majestic throne, for you are worthy of all honor, praise, glory, and adoration. 

Lord, you are the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. You are the One who spoke the infinite universe into existence, you fashioned each and every one of us fearfully and wonderfully while we were in our mothers’ wombs, and you have numbered each of our days before even one came to be. 

Thank you for the gift of the breath of life, for the strength to rise each day, for the purpose you have instilled within us, and for the mercy that is renewed with each sunrise.

Father, we are extremely grateful for your Son, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Savior. He willingly laid down His life to reunite us with you, creating a path where there was no way. 

Lord, you are our Holy Spirit, our Comforter, Advocate, Teacher, and Shepherd, the one who is guiding us through every step of our lives.

Lord, help us to follow the example set by Paul as we go through this day. Help us to know that “the eyes of our understanding can be enlightened,” so we can fully grasp the great and unshakable hope rooted in your calling for our lives. 

Enlighten us, Father, and bring to light every dark corner within us. Chase away all confusion, fear, and doubt that can cloud our minds. Open our eyes to see beyond the temporal to the eternal, beyond the visible to the invisible, for what is unseen is everlasting and is the foundation of our faith.

You are our God of all wisdom and revelation. Grant us a deeper understanding of the immeasurable riches found in the glory of your inheritance for the saints. Help us never to take for granted this glorious inheritance you have prepared and reserved for us, an inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading, safeguarded in heaven by your divine power. Empower us to live each day with this hope, walk in confidence, humility, and a sense of divine purpose.

Lord, please make us increasingly aware of your mighty power working within us who believe – the very same power that raised you, Lord, from the dead and seated you in heavenly places. We acknowledge that this power transcends all understanding and surpasses all conditions, giving us strength beyond our own.

Enable and equip us to fulfill your will so that we are not confined to our own desires, but engage with your love in every interaction, reflecting your grace to a world that deeply longs for hope. Help us to embody patience when we are tested, kindness when we face wrongdoing, forgiveness when we are hurt, and generosity when we find ourselves lacking. May our words be seasoned with grace, our actions marked by compassion, and our presence illuminate every environment we enter.

Strengthen our faith today, Lord, where there is weariness, grant renewal. Where there is doubt, infuse us with confidence. Where fear exists, fill us with courage, for you have not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. 

Lord, help us remain steadfast in our journey, rooted and grounded in love, always seeking your will above our ambitions and preferences. Transform our hearts to desire what you desire for us, to reject what you reject, and to love what you love. Teach us to walk humbly with you, to listen for your voice in every decision we make, and to surrender our limited understanding for your divine wisdom.

Together, Lord, we lay down every worry, every burden, and every fearful thought at your feet. We release our need to control outcomes and submit our lives entirely to your sovereign plan, for your ways are higher than our ways, and your thoughts far above our thoughts. 

Lord, align our hearts with yours, so that our prayers, actions, and desires will ultimately bring you glory. We thank you for this incredible privilege to commune with you in prayer today and to enter your throne room boldly. As we navigate through our day, help us to never lose sight of the glorious access we have to your holy throne. May our hearts burn with passion for your presence, for through you and with you, all things are possible. May our lives today and every day reflect your glory, stand as a testament to your grace, and serve as vessels of your love to everyone we encounter. 

As we close this time of prayer, we seal every word, every request, and every expression of gratitude in the mighty, matchless, and powerful name of you, our Lord and our Savior.

In the name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, we pray these things with unwavering faith, hope, and profound gratitude.
