Good morning, everyone! I want to welcome you to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is October 20th, the 293rd day of the year, a significant moment for reflection and renewal.

I’m Dr. Victoria Haddad, serving as the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, NJ. It’s a privilege to gather with you in this sacred moment to deepen our connection with the Lord.

Our scripture will be from Ephesians 6:10-11, which reads: “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

God is reminding us of the strength he is showering upon us through our faith in Him. He wants to equip everyone of us with spiritually and be brave in the challenges of life.

As we pray today, let us ask the Lord to fill us with His strength. So, we can find clarity in His purpose and courage to stand firm against all adversities that will come our way.

Let us put on the whole armor and lean on the power of God to guide us through life’s difficulties.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you with grateful hearts, embarking on this spiritual journey that you have set before us.

Lord, your word is reminding us to be strong in you and in the power of your might. For the strength we are seeking is not from our own abilities, but rather from your boundless power and grace.

Lord, please strengthen us. our strength is limited, but yours is infinite. Our wisdom is small, but yours is beyond measure. Our hearts can grow weary, but your love never fades. So today,  help us to lean fully on you, for you are our Rock and our Refuge.

Father, our hearts want to be strong, not in our own strength, for our own determination can falter, but in the strength that comes from you, we will not falter.  You will never leave us defenseless. Instead, you have and will continue to give us your armor, which is your truth, your righteousness, your peace, your faith, your salvation, and your words. So, we can stand strongly against every judgment and every attack of the enemy.

Lord, help us to put on your armor daily with a grateful heart. As we prepare ourselves for the day, equip us with your whole armor. Let our lives be reflective in your holiness, so others can see you shining through us.

Lord, help us to put on the belt of truth. We don’t want to twist what is good and disguise what is evil. Let your truth guard our words and our actions, and when we are tempted to believe lies, remind us of your unchanging truth.

Lord, help us to hold tightly to the breastplate of righteousness, which is not our own righteousness, for our righteousness is like filthy rags, but your righteousness is good, which will cover us. It will protect us from bitterness, from pride, from discouragement, and from anything that can pull us away from you. Fit us with the shoes of peace, so our feet can be equipped with the readiness of the gospel of peace.

Lord, there is so much conflict in this world, but your peace is greater than all storms. Cover us each day with your peace.  Give us peace on the job, in the home, when traveling, and even when speaking. Even when the ground beneath us feels unstable, help us to be firmly rooted in you and the peace that you have in store for us.

Lord, let our shield of faith be our main anchor, not only in circumstances, not only in people, in ability, but in you. When fiery darts of doubt, fear, temptation, or accusation come our way, let our faith in you extinguish far beyond our comprehension. Build our trust in you so that any attack of the enemy will not separate us.

Lord, help us to place the helmet of salvation upon our heads and guard our minds from earthly desires. We belong to you, and your desire is to showcase your might in our lives each and every day. You are our redemption, you are our redeemer, you are our forgiver, and you are our love beyond measure. As we go through this day, keep our minds on what is holy, what is right, what is pure, what is lovely, and what is trueful.

Lord, help us to take up the sword of the Spirit and hold it close to our hearts, which is your living word. Let it not just be words on a page, but words that penetrate our hearts. Teach us to use wisdom as prayer over our lives, teach us to use wisdom as prayer over our family, teach us to use wisdom as prayer over our struggles, and teach us to use wisdom as prayer over the darkness that always tries to creep into our thoughts.

Lord, help us to stand firm against challenges, temptations, and trials. Help us to remain steadfast in our devotion to you, knowing that your strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Father, we are praying with confidence. Spiritual battles are real. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but you came that we might have life, and have it abundantly.

We are standing on your truth. For you are with us, removing fear and equipping us with the ability to fight on every side.

Lord, in this moment, this armor is not just for defense but also for us to advance to your Kingdom. Let our words bring hope to the hopeless and love to those who feel unloved. And when we’ve done all we can, when we’ve prayed all we can prayed, when we’ve fought with all that we can, when we’ve stood all that we stood, help us to keep standing strong in you, on your words, our Lord.

You are our faithful Defender, our Strength, and our Victory, and you will rescue us. Let your peace rule in our hearts, your joy be our strength, and your love flow through us to others. We place ourselves, our family, our future, and our burden into your mighty hands and surrender everything to you, so that your will can be accomplished in our lives.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

I want to thank each and every one of you for listening to this prayer podcast. Please have a wonderful day. By God's grace, we will pray again tomorrow.
