Oct 8 - Day 281. We are God workmanship. Ephesians 2.10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer works. We are not just ordinary creations; we are the intricate workmanship of God, crafted with purpose and intention. In Christ Jesus, we have been uniquely designed for good works—acts of kindness, love, and service—that reflect our Creator’s heart. These good works were not merely an afterthought; they were meticulously prepared by God in advance, so that we may actively engage in them and walk the path He has laid out for us, fulfilling our divine purpose in the world. We are God's masterpiece, designed for good deeds.
Good morning, everyone. I hope your day is off to a great start. Today is a beautiful day. I want to welcome each and everyone of you to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is October 8th, the 281st day of the year, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to unite in prayer.
Let’s give the Lord thanks and exalt Him. He woke us up this morning with a mind and a heart to pray, to celebrate him, to give him thanks, for He's a good God. He loves us more than we love ourselves.
Remember, I am your host. I'm Dr. Victoria Haddad from the Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in New Jersey.
Our scripture will be taken from Ephesians 2:10: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Prayer is not only a conversation with God but a moment in which we can change both ourselves and our communities. This is a powerful reminder that each of us is a unique masterpiece, crafted by God with intention and purpose. God is reminding us of the value within us. That we are called for good work, he wants us to positively impact the lives of others in the world around us.
Together, let's pray and fulfill the good work we are scheduled to do.
Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, our Lord, God, and Blessed Savior,
Father, thank you for another day. Thank you for your grace and your mercy. No matter what we are encountering or what life is throwing our way, we can praise, honor, and glorify you. For you are worthy of every praise, every honor, and every glory. This is the day that you have made. So, help us to rejoice, and be glad in it.
Lord, thank you for reminding us that each of us is a unique masterpiece in your eyes. We are all created by you, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for good works, which you, God, prepared in advance so that we can walk in them.
You will never fail us, you will never give up on us, and you will never turn away from us. So, help us to walk in your light, pray with confidence, trust you, exalt you, and surrender to you.
Lord, thank you for reminding us that you are our workmanship. help us to rejoice in our prayer today, for before the foundation of the world, you designed us with great intention, skillfully knitting our lives together, even though the complexities of life can seem overburdening.
Our identities and destinies were thoughtfully looped together from our mother’s womb. You, Lord, know us personally and before we take our first breath; you carefully arrange our days and shape our paths with your love.
Lord, help us not to give up on you, not to turn away from you, but to trust you faithfully so that your will can be accomplished in our lives.
You created us for good work because you want to bless us. Purify us from all ungodly desire and help us to walk in the path you set before us. Help us not to get caught up in our own desire and lose focus on you.
Father, each of us possesses unique gifts to fulfill the purpose that you have set before us. Help us to shine brightly in our world and not be covered in darkness.
Help us to remember that we are your children, a holy representation of your greater mission on earth. Let us embrace our roles with humility and dedication.
Help us to be the people who are not afraid to pray, people who are not afraid to trust you, people who are not afraid to call upon you, and people who are not afraid to worship you.
Lord, let nothing that's not of you come nigh us. Protect everyone related to us and everyone who is praying and calling on your name. Let your will be done in our lives and remove tears, sorrows, sickness, and give us hope.
Lord, pour your Holy Spirit upon us. Help us to seek you more deeply, worship you more frequently, and love you more sincerely. Help us to lay down every plan, every agenda, and every distraction that can cloud our judgment and help us to trust you, knowing that your thoughts will lead us toward a greater purpose.
Let your power move in our lives. Open our eyes to the countless opportunities you are placing before us and help us to appreciate you, for you are our creator, from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same. Strengthen our faith so that we can serve you faithfully. Renew our strength, and help us to view challenges not as problems, but as opportunities for growth, opportunities to deepen our trust in you, and opportunities to fasten ourselves deeper in your hope.
Lord, let your revival begin within our homes, within our jobs, and within our communities. Even when we cannot see the complete picture, help us to know that you are planning and painting a beautiful masterpiece in our lives, with joy.
In closing, Lord, we give you thanks for all that you are doing for us. May our lives be a continuous offering to you.
In the mighty, matchless, and victorious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
I want to encourage everyone who is listening to this podcast. Don't give up on the Lord because he has not given up on you. Learn to trust him, for He has great plans in store for us. Have a great day, and we'll pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
