Dec 2 – Day 336. Humble yourself. James 4.10
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” (James 4:10)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Keep on praying. Stay humble, and in time, God will raise you up. Embrace a spirit of humility in the presence of the Lord, recognizing that true greatness is found in surrendering ourselves to His will. When we acknowledge our limitations and depend on His grace, we will find that He has the power to elevate us, nurturing our growth and lifting our spirits in ways we could never achieve on our own.
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is December 2, marking the 336th day of the year.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at the Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, NJ.
Today, our scripture will be taken from James 4:10, which reads, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
The Lord is reminding us of the importance of humility and our relationship with him. When we approach him with a humble heart, we will receive his grace.
As we go through this day, let’s humble ourselves and see how the Lord is transforming our lives. Together, let's navigate life’s challenges and celebrate its joys.
Let’s pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our God, Lord, and Savior. Father, we come before you in this sacred moment, humbling ourselves in your presence. With hearts bowed and our spirits lifted high, we acknowledge you as the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the One who holds all things together.
Lord, we recognize that without you, we are nothing. Without your love, your grace, your mercy, we are lost. But with you, we are found, redeemed, and renewed.
Father, today we want to thank you for the gift of life, for breath, and another day to walk in your goodness and seek your assurance. Thank you for the gift of salvation. Jesus Christ, you bore our sins on the cross so that we can have eternal life. Thank you for the Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Guider, who is leading us into truth and strengthening us to overcome uncertainty.
Lord, thank you for the blessings seen and unseen, for protection, for answered prayers, and for your perfect timing.
Father, you are encouraging us to humble ourselves, and you will lift us up. And so, Lord, here we are before you. Help us to lay aside every pride and every selfish desire. Help us to lay them at your feet and fully trust you. Too often, we try to carry burdens on our own, forgetting that you want us to cast our cares upon you, for you care for us.
Lord, forgive us and help us not to lean on our own understanding, but trust in you with all our hearts. Help us to release our need for control, to surrender our desires, our plans, and our physical needs at your feet, for your thoughts are higher than our thoughts and your ways are greater than anything we could ever imagine.
Lord, remove strife, remove fears, and remove anxieties. For we are your children, beloved and chosen, and your plans for us are good. You want to us prosper, and don’t want to harm us, but you want to give us a future and great hope.
Father, help to walk in true humility each day. Teach us to serve others with love and compassion, putting others before ourselves. Help us to see people the way you see them, to extend grace where it is needed, and to reflect kindness in a world that is often harsh and unforgiving.
Lord, keep us secure, not distracted, and not by the temptations of this world, but by truth, promises, and eternal glory.
Lord, even when we do not understand, even when the road ahead seems uncertain, help us to trust you. Help us to believe that you are working all things together for our good. Equip us with patience to wait when we don’t see a complete result. Give us strength in times of trial, and faith to believe that you are working all things together for our good. Fill our hearts with comfort and remind us that you are the giver of every good gift.
Father, those who are heavy, give them peace. Those who feel alone, surround them with your presence. Those battling sickness, send healing and peace. Those struggling with broken relationships, send restoration and forgiveness.
Lord, those who are weighed down by financial struggles, provide for their needs and remind them of your unfailing grace.
Lord, Today, reassure all of us that you see, know, and love us unconditionally.
Lord, let your Spirit dwell richly within us. Guard our thoughts. Teach us to depend on you every day and remind us that true strength is found not in ourselves, but in you.
Lord, in closing, thank you for hearing our prayer. Thank you for loving us. Use us as a weapon of hope to the hopeless and encouragement to the weary. May our lives be a testament of your grace and mercy, so others can see you in us and glorify you.
Father, we place our trust in you, for you are faithful and your promises never fail. We rest in your love, we rest in your power, and we rest in your victory.
We end this prayer in the name above every name, the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer, and our Prince of Peace. Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
