Dec 5 – Day 339. Pray for Abundance Mercies. 1 Peter 1.3
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer works. Truly, we are blessed by God's grace and abundant mercies. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, in His boundless mercy and love, has granted us new birth into a vibrant hope. This hope is made possible through the miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, which brings forth the assurance of eternal life and the promise of our own resurrection. Through this profound act of grace, we are not only renewed but also called to live in the light of this lively hope, knowing that our faith is anchored in the power of His victory over death.
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of EBC's Prayer Podcast. Today is December 5, the 339th day of the year, a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our journey with the Lord.
I am your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey.
Today, we are reminded of the 66 books of the Bible, and we are praying with from every book throughout the year.
Today, we are going to delve into 1 Peter, and we are reading from 1 Peter 1:3, which reads: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
The Lord is reminding us of the hope that we can experience through our faith in him.
God's resurrection not only assures us of salvation but also ignites a vibrant hope within us.
As we pray today, let’s open our hearts to the transformative power of God’s mercy and the hope that deepens our relationship with our Creator.
Let’s pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, our God, and our Blessed Savior,
Father, we come before you with hearts overflowing with gratitude, lifting our voices in praise and thanksgiving.
Thank you for another moment to pray and another moment to surrender fully to you, for you are drawing us closer to you.
Father, you are the true gift of praise, so help us to glorify you and give you thanks in every moment of our lives, whether in joy or in sorrow, for you are present, faithful, and unchanging.
You are reminding us that: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to your abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by your resurrection from the dead.
Lord, we are expressing our gratitude and reverence to you, for you are our God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is through your abundant mercy and grace that we have been given new life and new hope.
Thank you for renewing this reviving hope. This hope is made possible by you, from the resurrection of your death; you have the victory over sin and death, and you are offering the promise of eternal life.
Lord, we are truly thankful for the new life and the living hope you are showering upon us. This hope is not a passing thought or a wishful dream. It is a firm, unwavering anchor for our souls, grounded in the unshakable reality of your resurrection and your power. This profound act of love and redemption invites us to embrace a vibrant and purposeful existence in our faith with you.
Lord, let your resurrection saturate our hearts, flooding us with joy where there is sorrow, strength where there is weakness, and assuring us when there is uncertainty. When we face challenges, trials, or seasons of waiting, but help us to remember that you are raising us again unto a lively hope with you.
Lord, help us to shine with hope. Let our words carry encouragement, our actions display compassion, and our presence bring peace, so that others can see Christ in us and glorify you. Help those who feel lost or weary to find in us a testimony of your goodness and your faithfulness in their lives.
Father, when the storms of life threaten to overwhelm us, remind us that our anchor holds fast in you, for you are our Christ Jesus. When doubts creep in, let the certainty of your victory at the cross rise within us and bring us peace. Help us to greet each day with the light of this living hope, believing with the assurance that our lives are secure in you.
Father, we are lifting everyone before you. There are so many who are struggling every day, so many grieving every day, so many battling sickness every day, and so many enduring uncertainties every day.
Lord, we are praying and asking you to wrap us in the comfort of your loving arms and remind us of the living hope that cannot be taken away from us. Strengthen every heart, restore every broken spirit, and heal every wound. So, we can know that nothing is impossible for you. Help us not to overlook our blessings and the countless ways in which you are providing for us each day. Teach us to be grateful and to recognize your hand in the small moments, and to never cease from giving you praise.
Lord, forgive us for placing our trust in temporary things rather than in your eternal promises that you have in store for us. Draw us closer to you each and every day and help us to remember that our hope and security are found in you, for you are our Savior each and every day.
Lord Jesus, today, be the light that guides our steps, the strength that upholds us, and the joy that carries us forward. Help us to live not just as receivers of this hope, but as bearers of it, willing to extend grace, love, and kindness to all. Help us to hunger for more of you, have a deep passion for prayer, and an intimate relationship with you. Teach us to listen, be obedient, and to pray daily.
Lord, in closing, thank you for reminding us that you are worthy, you are faithful, you are merciful, you are compassionate, and you are rich in love. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Help us to place our trust entirely in you, for you will never fail us. Help us to lay down our fears, our plans, our burdens, and our desires, and rest in the assurance that you are working all things together for good. May our lives be a continual offering of praise, a testimony of hope, and a reflection of your power. Today, may we not leave this hope behind, but carry it into our families, into our workplaces, and into our communities. Let every word and every action be marked by the living hope we have in you.
We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless, and holy name of our Savior and our Lord, Jesus Christ…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
