Elyon Bible Church Apostolic Season 3 Episode 340

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” (1 Peter 2:2-3)

Welcome to another daily prayer. Pray with assurance, crave the pure and nourish the milk of God’s word. For the Lord is full of grace. As newborn infants crave the pure and untainted milk of the Word, so too should you hunger for spiritual nourishment, for it is through this sincere longing that you may experience growth in your faith and understanding. This growth is not merely an intellectual pursuit; it is a profound transformation that occurs when you embrace the graciousness of the Lord. If you have truly come to know and appreciate His kindness and mercy, you will find yourself more eager than ever to seek out the truth and wisdom that nourishes your soul.

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of our EBC’s Prayer Podcast. I hope you are rejoicing and giving God praise. For today is December 6, the 340th day of the year, and as we step into this beautiful day, let our hearts be open to the countless blessings that God continues to pour upon us each and every day.

Remember, I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at the Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, NJ. Together, we are drawing inspiration from our prayer through the 66 books of the Bible.

Today, our scripture will be taken from 1 Peter 2:2-3, which reads: “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”

Today, God is reminding us that sometimes we need to humble ourselves and become like newborn babes so that His will can be accomplished in our lives.

As we pray, let’s delve deeper into the words of the Lord and reflect on the abundant blessings he is showering into our lives and the lives of those around us.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Gracious God, our Loving Savior, and our Rescuer.

Father, thank you for the precious moment to come before you in prayer. Each day, we want to draw closer to you because it is a gift and a privilege that we never want to take for granted. Just as a newborn child eagerly cries out for milk to be sustained, we, too, are crying for the nourishment of your living word. Only in you can we find what will truly satisfy us, for the deep hunger of our souls.

Father, with grateful hearts, we surrender ourselves fully to you today. Take our weaknesses and cover us with your blood. Take our doubts and replace them with your faith. Take our brokenness and redeem them for your glory.

Lord, help us not to allow distractions, burdens, and the noise of this world to drift us away from your word. Help us to become newborn babes who truly desire the sincere milk of your word, the desire to grow spiritually, and the desire to taste and see that you, our Lord, are a gracious God.

Father, forgive us for the moments when we sought comfort from one another or from someone or something else, that will drift us away from you. Restore to us a holy desire, a burning hunger for your truth. Help us not to be satisfied with surface-level faith but to go deeper, pressing into your promises, listening to your voice, and abiding in your presence. Stir within us a longing for more of you. Teach us to set aside our own will so that we can delight fully in you, for you are our Father.

Father, today we are humbling ourselves and opening our hearts fully to you. Please nurture within us wisdom, truth, and grace. For your words are life unto us, guiding our decisions, shaping our character, and transforming us into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

Lord, help us to seek your compassion. Not conditional, not unconcernedly, not occasionally, but with fervent pursuit, for our lives should depend solely on you. It is through your power and your Spirit that we can grow in salvation, resist temptation, and walk faithfully in obedience. Teach us to cling to you in seasons of uncertainty, to trust you when our hearts are weary, and to rejoice in you when your blessings are overflowing our way.

Lord, as newborn babes, when we experience joy, may our hearts overflow in gratitude and praise in your holy name. Open our eyes to recognize your hand at work. When we encounter trials, remind us of your faithfulness and give us the confidence we need to include you in our daily decisions.

Lord, use us as instruments of love. Let our words bring encouragement, let our actions reflect compassion, and let our lives bear witness of the hope we have in you.

In times of harvest or in seasons of waiting, help us remain steadfast in serving you, and let others see your goodness in our lives and glorify you.

Father, each day, we pray not only for ourselves but also for those around us. Strengthen our families, bring peace to our communities, healing to those who are sick, comfort to those who are grieving, and provide for those in need. Let us be sensitive to the prompting of your Spirit and serve you faithfully.

Lord, in closing, we repeat your words. “As newborn babes, desiring the sincere milk of the word that we may grow thereby: If so, be we have tasted that you, our Lord is gracious.”

Thank you for your patience, thank you for your mercy, and thank you for your grace that you are pouring upon us daily. Thank you for never leaving us nor forsaking us, and for loving us through every season of life.

We pray all of this with joy and with confidence, knowing that you hear us and that you are faithful to answer in your perfect timing.

In the wonderful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and best Friend, we pray… Amen.

Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
