Dec 8 – Day 342. God's Ears are Open. 1 Peter 3.12
“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” (1 Peter 3:12)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer works. The Lord's eyes are over the righteous, and he is always attentive. The attentive gaze of the Lord is ever watchful over those who strive to live righteously, providing them with protection and guidance. His ears stand ready to hear their prayers, offering comfort and support in times of need. In contrast, however, the Lord turns His face away from those who engage in wickedness, signifying His disapproval and the consequences that follow their wrongdoings.
Good morning, everyone! I hope you are all having a blessed start to your day. Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. Today is December 8, the 342nd day of the year, a beautiful reminder of the blessings God has in store for us.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, NJ. It’s a privilege to connect with each of you as we delve into prayer each day.
This morning, our scripture will be taken from 1 Peter 3:12, which reads: “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.”
This is a vital reminder of God’s unwavering attention to those who are seeking Him with a pure heart and the importance for us to live a righteous life.
Today, as we pray, let us open our hearts to the message that prayer carries and engage in heartfelt prayer for the abundance of God’s blessings in our lives.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Righteous God, our Lord, and our Savior.
Father, we come before you another day with our hearts bowed in reverence and gratitude. Thank you for the gift of life and the sacred opportunity to lift our voices to you in prayer. Your mercy is new every morning, and your faithfulness will never fail.
Thank you for promising us that when we draw near to you, you will draw near to us. You are holy and worthy of all honor and praise. You are Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Redeemer, and our true Friend. Through you, Lord, we will have access to the throne of grace.
Lord, your name is exalted above every name, and your goodness knows no end. Help us to acknowledge your sovereignty, for without you, we are nothing, for you are a God who listens, who cares, and who answers our prayers according to your perfect will.
Father, you are assuring us that you are our safe haven and our guiding light. For your watchful eyes are always upon the righteous, and your ears are attentive to our cries for help and guidance.
Lord, it is a comfort to know that you are never leaving us and will never turn away from us, even in our moments of need. Instead, you are always ready to draw us closer, inviting us into your presence whenever we call upon you.
Lord, today, we are praying and bringing before you the burdens of our hearts. So, we can find strength and comfort, for with you, we are never alone. You see every hidden struggle, you know every pain, and you understand every challenge. Yet you have not given up on us and will not forsake those who are seeking you.
Lord, help us to live in a way that honors you. Shape our words, our thoughts, and our actions so we can reflect on who you truly are. Remove anger, remove greed, and remove selfish desires. Replace them with kindness, gentleness, and meekness. Help us to be quick to forgive, slow to anger, and eager to extend grace to others, just as you are extending grace to us.
Lord, protect us from evil attraction and keep us persistent in our faith, especially when temptations come our way. Your face is against them that do evil. You want us to endure and do good. For greater is you that is in us, than he that is in the world.
Father, surround us with your spirit, cover us under your blood, help us to be rooted in righteousness, and never grow weary in well doing because you are a wonderful Savior. You are reminding us that “the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” Help us never to do evil but fully surrender to you. So, your spirit can be around us, so you can cover us under your blood, so we can be rooted in your righteousness, so we never grow weary, and never turn away from you.
Father, each day, we pray not only for ourselves, but for those around us. We are praying today and asking you to cover our families under your blood, cover our friends, and cover our neighbors under your blood. Pour out your spirit upon us all. Bring healing to our hearts, minds, bodies, souls, and spirits. Comfort every lonely person, provide for the needs of those who are in need, and hope to those who are heartbroken.
Lord, as we close this prayer, open the eyes of those who have not yet known you, so they can see the power of God moving in this world and moving in the lives of others. So, they too can experience the joy of your salvation. Remember our needs, remember our desires, and remember our plans for our lives. Let your will be accomplished in us. Help us to know that your plans for us are good and you have the power to draw us closer to you each day.
Lord, thank you for reminding us that your eyes are over the righteous and your ears are open unto our prayers, but your face is against them that do evil. Help us as we go through this day not to do evil, but to do good.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ that we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a wonderful day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
