Dec 12 – Day 346 Pray for Divine Power
“His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” (2 Peter 1:3)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer is powerful. Approach it with joy and seek God's divine strength. Through His divine power, we have been generously granted everything we need for both a fulfilling life and a life of godliness. This is made possible through the profound knowledge of Him who has called us to experience His glory and embrace the virtues that reflect His character.
Good morning, good morning, and good morning, everyone. We want to welcome each and every one of you to another episode of EBC’s Prayer Podcast! Today is December 12, the 346th day of the year, and God is still blessing us and showering us with blessings that we don’t even have room enough to receive. So we are rejoicing today.
Remember, I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, and I have the honor of serving as the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey.
Together, we embark on a spiritual journey, seeking guidance and strength through the 66 books of the Bible.
Today, we are starting our prayer in the book of 2 Peter. Our scripture will be taken from 2 Peter 1:3. And it reads, “His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.”
This verse summarizes the idea that through our relationship with Christ, we have access to all we need for a fulfilling and godly life. It serves as a reminder that our spiritual journey is enriched by God's power, enabling us to embody the virtues that reflect His glory.
As we pray, let our hearts be open to the wisdom of God and apply what he is saying to our lives daily.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, our God, and our Almighty Savior.
Father, we come before you another day with our hearts full of gratitude and reverence. Thank you for the precious gift of prayer, this holy invitation to come into your presence, to speak with you, and to rest in your assurance. Lord, thank you for reminding us that through you, Jesus Christ, the veil has been torn, and we can approach your throne of grace with confidence, knowing you are hearing us when we pray.
Lord, thank you for the countless ways you are sustaining us day by day. “According to your divine power, you have given us everything we need for life and godliness, through your knowledge you have called us to glory and virtue.”
Lord, help us not to rely on our own understanding, but rest and trust in you fully. For your power is sufficient, your grace is abundant, and your love never fails. Lord, no matter what we are going through, you want us to trust you. Too often, we try to live out of our own strength, depending on our own wisdom and resources, and we forget that you have already supplied everything according to our needs and according to your ability.
Lord, thank you for the restoration. Thank you for the relationships we have with you. Help us to live with positive gratitude, not only for what you have given us but for who you are. You are holy. You are faithful. You are merciful. You are just. You are our shepherd, you are our refuge, and you are our everlasting Father. Even in seasons of uncertainty, even in trials, you remain unchangeable.
Father, you have given us everything we need for life and godliness. Help us to use the gifts you have delivered to us wisely. You have given us spiritual gifts, spiritual and physical opportunities. You have given us resources and influence. May we never waste these blessings, but steward them faithfully. Teach us to be generous with what you have provided, to share with those in need, to extend kindness to the weary, and to be a light in a world that so desperately needs your hope.
Lord, through the knowledge of you who called us to glory and virtue. We can become the people you destine for us to become. So, shape our hearts so that our lives reflect you, where there is pride, humble us. Where there is anger, calm us. Where there is bitterness, heal us. Where there is fear, strengthen us. Make us more like you every day, so our words can bring life, our actions can bring healing, and our attitudes can bring glory and honor to your holy name.
Father, remember everyone who is hurting, struggling with pain, grieving, nervous, battling depression, feels unseen, feels unloved, or feels lonely. Lord, wrap us in your perfect arms. Help us to feel the warmth of your presence, knowing that you will never leave us nor forsake us. You have never given up on us and will never give up on us.
For you are the God who sees, and your love is deeper than the oceans, your love is higher than the mountains, and stronger than anything in this world.
Lord, strengthen marriages, strengthen families, and strengthen friendships. Help families to raise their children in the knowledge of you. Protect our children from the danger of the enemy and give us strength to hold on to you. May our homes be filled with your love, forgiveness, and peace, so that anyone who enters can feel your presence.
Father, thank you for reminding us of the depth of your love. We cannot measure your love, we cannot earn your love, and we cannot lose your love. For it is constant, unchangeable, and eternal. As we go through this day, Lord, let that truth sink deep into our souls and inspire us to draw others closer to you.
We also pray for our communities, and we are praying for our neighbors. Lord, please send wisdom to our leaders, unity to everyone around us, and justice to the world.
Lord, in a world full of division, we are praying for your spirit to rise up as a beacon of love, truth, and reconciliation. You are Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Help us not to be known only for what we have, but for who you are.
Use us, Lord God, as testimonies of your grace, so the way we live can point others to the hope that can only be found in you.
Lord, in closing, we are laying down our burdens, our plans, our fears, and our desires at your feet. Teach us to trust you more deeply, walk with you more closely, and love you more passionately.
We pray all of this with thankful hearts, in the mighty, powerful, and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior …Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a wonderful day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
