Jan 5 - Day 5. Pray and See the Salvation of the Lord
“Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Standstill, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:13-14)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer works. See the Lord's salvation taking place in your life. Moses addressed the people with a calm assurance, saying, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and witness the powerful deliverance that the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see before you will never be seen again. The Lord is taking the lead in this battle; He will fight for you, while you remain still and trust in His strength.”
Good morning, everyone! Today is January 5, marking the 5th day of this new year, and God is still blessing us. Welcome to another episode of our EBC’s Prayer Podcast.
I’m Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. It gives me great joy to connect with each and every one of you on this spiritual journey.
Remember, our prayers throughout the year will be rooted in the wisdom found in the 66 books of the Bible. We are starting in Genesis and working to Revelation.
Today, we are diving deeper into the book of Exodus. and our scripture will be taken from Exodus 14:13-14, and it reads: “Moses said to the people, 'Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
Today, God is encouraging us that he sees everything, he knows everything, and he will fight for us and give us peace.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior.
Father, we come before with hearts lifted in gratitude, praise, and humility. Thank you for the gift of life and the opportunity to gather before you in prayer. Thank you for your mercy that renews every morning, and for the assurance that no matter what storms surround us, you are still God, working things out for our good.
Lord, as we reflect on your goodness, we remember the many times you have carried us through trials. We recall the moments when we thought there was no way forward, and yet you parted the waters before us, just as you did for Israel when they stood at the Red Sea. You have been faithful in the past, and you will remain faithful today and forevermore.
Lord, thank you for reminding us that we do “not be afraid. But stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for us today. The Lord will fight for us, and we shall hold our peace.” Lord, we hold onto these promises.
Give us the strength, O God, to stand still when our hearts are restless. Teach us to wait patiently when our flesh wants to rush ahead. Remove fear, doubt, and anxiety from clouding our vision, for you do not want us to fight battles in our own strength. You are asking us to step aside, to let you, the Mighty Warrior, take the lead.
Lord, today, we are surrendering to you. You know every battle we are facing. You see those who are suffering with illness, those who are facing financial difficulties, those in broken relationships, those who are grieving, and those who are uncertain about the future. You see the enemies of our peace that rise up daily to steal our joy. Father, thank you for reminding us that those burdens, those struggles, will not follow us forever. You have promised that what we see today, we will see no more, because you are fighting for us.
Lord, instill within us courage. Remind us that fear is not from you. Instead, clothe us in your peace. Wrap us in your love. Replace every anxious thought with the calm assurance of your presence. Help us to surrender, not out of defeat, but out of trust, so your hands can move mightily in our lives.
Father, give us patience. Help us to wait, for waiting is never easy. Standing still when our hearts want answers feels impossible. But we believe, Lord, that you are at work even in the silence. You are moving pieces we cannot see. You are aligning things for our good, and though we may not understand today, we trust that one day we will see you faithfully and face-to-face.
Help us, O God, to fix our eyes not on the problem but on the Promise-Keeper. You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. What you start, you will finish. What you declare, no one can undo. You are not a man that should lie, nor the son of man that should repent. If you said you us, we need to believe that you will deliver us.
Father, help us not to overlook the victories you are already giving us. So often we pray for big breakthroughs and forget the small mercies that happen each day, the breath we take, the meals on our table, the roof over our heads, the moments of laughter, the friends, families, and loved ones who are surrounding us. These are victories, and we celebrate them, for they remind us that you are near and that you care for us in every detail of our lives.
Lord, we lift those who are weary. Strengthen our hearts. Remind us that life’s difficulties will not last forever. Trials have an expiration date, but your promises are eternal. Remind us that we are not alone, for you are with us, carrying us when we cannot walk, and fighting battles we may never even see.
God, give us faith. Not just at what is happening around us, but of who you truly are.
Lord, as we stand still, let us also stand firm in prayer. Give us words to declare your goodness even when our circumstances try to silence us. Teach us to praise you in advance for the breakthrough that you are sending in our lives. Help us to rejoice in every promise, to worship while we wait, for you inhabit the praises of your people.
Father, thank you for breaking every chain, healing every wound, and restoring what was lost. You are making rivers in the desert and a way in the wilderness.
Lord, thank you for the peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you for teaching us to hold onto your peace no matter the storm, no matter the noise, and no matter the doubts. Help us to rest in your wings and know that we are safe, secure, and deeply loved by you.
Father, we close this prayer with thanksgiving. Thank you for fighting for us. Thank you for reminding us that what seems impossible to us is never impossible for you.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Savior, and our Deliverer, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
