Jan 12 – Day 12. God's Covenant
“I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the Lord.” (Leviticus 26:45)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer works. The Lord will remember the covenant he made for you. This act was not merely to liberate us, but to establish a profound relationship in which the Lord would be recognized as our God. “I, the Lord, will, for their benefit, hold steadfast to the covenant made with their ancestors—those whom I led out of bondage in the land of Egypt, before the eyes of the nations.” Indeed, I am the Lord, committed to guiding and protecting them as their divine authority.
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of our EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is January 12, the 12th day of the year, and we are still shouting, still glorifying, and still praying with joy, for the Lord is good and he is always good to us.
I’m Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. It gives me great joy to connect with you another day on this spiritual journey.
Today, we are continuing in the book of Leviticus, and our scripture will be taken from Leviticus 26:45, and it reads: “I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the Lord.”
Today, as we pray, let's pray with joy, for God's promises to be our God, and remember the covenant he made for our families.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, our God, and our Rescuer, we humbly come before you this day with hearts overflowing with gratitude and respect. We acknowledge who you are; you are holy, mighty, merciful, and ever faithful. You are the God who has kept covenant with your people through all generations, and you are the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.
Father, thank you for allowing us to come before your throne of grace without fear, for through Christ we are welcomed as beloved children. Thank you for hearing our prayers, not as distant cries, but as prayers that reach directly to your heart. We are grateful for your compassion, that you listen, and that you answer according to your perfect will.
Lord, often we forget the depth of your covenant. Sometimes, we become distracted by the noise of this world, by the weight of our burdens, and by the weakness of our own flesh. But today, Father, we are praying and asking you to help us to remember deeply, intentionally, and joyfully the covenant you have made for us, your people. Remind us daily that you are a God who never breaks your promises. Though generations may rise and fall, though kingdoms may come and go, your word remains unshaken and your promises unchangeable.
Lord, you have said in your word that you will remember the covenant you made with our ancestors, whom you delivered from the bondage of Egypt. And we know this is not just history; it is a testimony of your character. You are the Deliverer. You are the One who breaks chains, who opens doors that no man can shut, who rescues us even from the depths of despair. The same God who led Israel with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm is the God who is leading us today.
Father, there are times when we struggle, times when we feel separated or distant in a land that is not our own. You have promised that you will not abandon us. When we falter, you remain steady. When we are faithless, you remain faithful. When the world speaks condemnation, you whisper mercy. You are reminding us that you will not destroy us, nor will you reject us, because your covenant love endures.
Lord, thank you for being a wonderful, loving God. You are the Rock beneath our feet when everything else feels unstable.
Lord, some of us are facing problems within our world, problems within our countries, problems within our workspaces, problems within our families, and problems within our churches. Some are burdened with sickness, some are burdened with pain, and some are burdened with sorrow, which seem not to go away. Some are wrestling with fear, some are wrestling with doubt, and some are wrestling with loneliness. Lord, in every situation, you are near. Your presence is not distant, but it is constant. So, we are asking you today, Lord, to remind us of your nearness. Let us feel your hand at work in our lives, guide us, hold us, and strengthen us.
Jesus, you are our Good Shepherd, and in your care we lack nothing. Lead us beside still waters and restore our souls when we feel weary. Walk with us even through the valley of the shadow of death, and let us fear no evil, because you are with us. Let your rod and your staff comfort us and help us to find peace in the certainty of your presence.
Lord, thank you for the mercy you pour out daily, the mercy that spares us from destruction, the mercy that restores us when we stumble, the mercy that renews us each morning. Thank you for your hope. Because of your sacrifice, we are redeemed, and because of your resurrection, we have eternal life.
Help us to trust in your promises. Strengthen our faith so that when storms arise, we do not doubt, but remember that you are the one who calms the winds and speaks peace to the waves. When fear tries to take root, remind us that perfect love casts out all fear. When we feel forgotten, remind us that our names are engraved on the palms of your hands.
Lord, remind us daily that your mercy is greater than our mistakes, that your arms are open wide, and that your covenant love welcomes us home each day. Let us be vessels of grace, showing compassion, forgiveness, and kindness to those around us.
Father, today, anchor our hearts in your covenant love. Help us to walk with confidence, knowing that if you are for us, who can be against us? And may our lives reflect your goodness so that others can see and come to know you as their Lord and Savior.
Father, we close this prayer with gratitude. Help us to surrender our worries, our burdens, and our desires into your hands. Help us choose to rest in the assurance that you are in control, that you are good, and that your timing is perfect. Thank you for being our God, our Refuge, our Fortress, and our best Friend.
Lord, thank you for rescuing us time and time again. Thank you for never letting us go. And thank you for the eternal hope we have in you.
We pray all of this in the mighty and precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, …Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
