Jan 15 – Day 15. God is a Merciful Savior
“The Lord thy God is a merciful God; he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he swore unto them.” (Deuteronomy 4:31)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Prayer works. By this time, your heart should be longing for a deeper walk with the Lord. The Lord your God is a compassionate and merciful presence, steadfast in His love for you. He will never abandon you, nor will He bring destruction upon you. He remembers with faithfulness the sacred covenant made with your ancestors, a promise sworn to them that binds Him to His people through generations. This assurance emphasizes His unwavering commitment to your well-being and the enduring legacy of faith that connects you to those who came before.
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of our EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is January 15, the 15th day of the year, and we are still falling in love with the Lord because He truly loves us.
I’m Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. It gives me great joy to connect with you another day on this spiritual journey.
As mentioned before, our prayers throughout the year will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. Starting in Genesis and ending in the book of Revelation.
Today, we are diving into the book of Deuteronomy, and our scripture will be taken from Deuteronomy 4:31, and it reads: “The Lord thy God is a merciful God; he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he swore unto them.”
The Lord is reminding us that he is a merciful God and he will not abandon or destroy us.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, our God, and our Creator.
Merciful God, we come before you with humble and grateful hearts, for it is only by your mercy and grace that we are able to come before you earnestly. Father, thank you for the gift of life and your endless blessings that we often overlook. Thank you for waking us up this morning, for giving us strength to face the day, and for surrounding us with your unfailing love.
Father, we are approaching your throne of grace, not because we are worthy, but because you invite us to come boldly and confidently, knowing that you hear us when we pray. You are faithful, and you are reminding us that you, “the Lord our God is a merciful God; you will not forsake us, neither destroy us, nor forget the covenant of our fathers which he swore unto us.” Lord, what a comfort it is to know that you never turn your back on us, even when we stumble, even when we fall short of your glory.
Thank you for your unwavering mercy that carries us through our darkest valleys, for your compassion that lifts us when we are broken, and for your forgiveness that restores us when we repent.
Lord, we are often weak, distracted, and drawn away by the cares of this world. Yet despite our flaws, you remain our compassionate Savior, always patient, always loving, and always calling us back into Your arms.
Lord, we hold on to the hope that you are actively working in our lives right now, even when we cannot see it, even when we do not understand. You are molding us, shaping us, and refining us to become the people you have called us to be.
Lord, help us to trust the process. When we are tempted to take shortcuts or walk away, remind us that your ways are higher than our ways and that your plans are always for our good.
Gracious Father, guide our steps on the path you have set before us. Let your word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. When the road feels uncertain, may we lean not on our own understanding but acknowledge you in all our ways, trusting that you will direct our paths.
Lord, teach us to walk in humility, obedience, and love. Help us to seek first your Kingdom and your righteousness, knowing that all other things will be added unto us.
Lord, strengthen us in our moments of weakness. Remind us that your grace is sufficient and that your power is made perfect in our weakness. Let faith rise within us, let truth anchor our souls, and let your peace that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds in you, Christ Jesus.
Father, have mercy on our families, our loved ones, and all those who are in need of your presence. Bring healing to the sick, comfort to the grieving, provision to the needy, and restoration to the broken. Surround us with your angels, protect us from the snares of the enemy, and draw us closer to you each day.
Lord, we pray for our communities and our world. In a time filled with division, strife, and uncertainty, please pour out your Spirit upon all of us. Give us unity, compassion, and hope. Teach us to love one another as you have loved us. Let us be peacemakers, light-bearers, and vessels of grace in our hurting world.
Father, shape our hearts to reflect your humility, kindness, and obedience. Teach us to forgive as you have forgiven us. Help us to serve as you served, and to love as you loved.
Lord, we rest in the promise that you who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it. Thank you, may everything we do bring honor and glory to your holy name.
We pray this in the powerful, matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
